Yup we've been discussing it here from time to time..always rolls off the board, however.

Yes.

I'm hoping it won't turn out to be your standard MMO community either.

Well P2P helps fund server maintenance, GM's and updated content. You can't have a proper MMO without one.

i would never play swtor if it was not p2p. not to get into that discussion, but at this point it should be said that no business model for SWTOR has been formally announced yet.

so no one knows for certain.

I'm thinking about it. It depends on FFXIV really.

Yeah I've seen the difference between the so-called "free to play" and those MMOs that you subscribe to..at least there are regular updates, and csr you can refer to if needed.     Free to play.. well all that seems to be pretty much haphazard.

Yeah, I prefer P2P MMOs. Free ones are haphazard at best.

if its p2p as long as the graphics and textures are good, but so far i dont like the character builds, they seem very cartoonish imo.

Im more for how the new FF might look like

ill try it out if you dont have to pay for any DVD or sumthing to install, just make it download from online and pay monthly

I doubt it. I just don't think I can devote that kind of time and money to an MMO.

I wish the SWTOR community was like 1/5 its current size. It is too big to be called a community. Discussions and threads are buried within seconds of posting and there are always a dozen convos between 100 people in every thread. i just do not have the tenacity to keep up with the swtor forums.

Should I dash your hopes now or later? I will go think about it while I eat waffles.

I'm waiting for some sort of announcement before I get involved with the forums over there, I'm signed up, can post pretty much any time, but currently...it looks like a bunch of 12 year olds have got their foot in the door.  :D

So I'll wait and see if there are folks I can relate to over there, before I start posting. ;)   Not that I am biased or anything,  I talk to my nieces and nephews,  just on the internet..well thats a different thing altogether.   And ingame,  I usually get followed around by these kids,   maybe I am too helpful or something.

Can you give me this, can you help me with that..etc.    Never fails. :D

Well thats why I am going to wait and see,  I'm thinking not all of them are..just some of the really vocal ones I saw lately.   And some of them state they are going to drop Wow forever, once Tor comes out.   hehe

yup, when the forums first launched I tried to be an active forum member for about ~5 days before I gave up and stopped reading the forums entirely. It should be said, SWTOR gets an update with new information/content every Friday. So I still check every Friday for their new content and info.

Obviously any MMO is going to have their fair share of "12 year olds" and a generally retarded populace.

It doesn't matter what MMO you play (unless it's a very niche/old MMO).

Anyway, I plan on joining an 18+ only guild so that's irrelevant. The more 12 year olds the more noobs there are to get easy kills off of.

And yes, I am very excited for TOR and will be playing from day 1.

Truth be told, I don't think all of them are children. My problem wasn't the immaturity, as much as it was that in order to compete at that pace and with those people, you have to have SW canon completely memorized. They are such canon nerds, and I do not begrudge them loving SW, but when I try to have casual conversations, I get slammed as a SW newb for not knowing what happened in some 300-page book published in the 1980s. Its too much, I only want bioware-starwars, not lucas-starwars.
