Why can't he post here? I think most of the people posting on the SWTOR forums are going to be playing don't you think?

This is the Off-Topic forum, and it's related to BioWare. I don't see any problem with him wondering about how many DAO and ME players are going to be playing SWTOR.

I realy hope atleast half of the top DA:O modders play SWTOR so we can get top notch mods.

You're assuming they'll allow mods.  Not all MMOs do.

Anyway, I'm more than likely going to pick it up (I generally won't even touch any MMO that doesn't have a free trial, but it's Bioware, so...), but whether I'll play beyond the initial free month (there'd better be a free month with purchase) I don't know.

I'm personally not a fan of SciFi or Starwars, but ME2 changed my general opinion of the genre, so I might. The mechanics sound nice, and all the voice acting is a plus. I might wait for a free trial, like mmo's eventually offer. I will not be paying full price on day one for it, but thats just me.

I see no problem with posting here. It'll be on here eventually. I also would like to discuss it with the people on the social site. Allthough people can be on both. Hell people were posting back and forth on here and the original forums for mass effect 2 and dragon age.

I can't see myself not buying TOR unless they really screw it up. It looks to be far the best MMO coming in the near future and one of the few that really has a chance that competing with WoW. I think Bioware has really made a good choice to push what can be done with an MMO. The genre needs fresh mechanics to be able to move forward.

Boy do I love talking about SWTOR.

I'm excited to play the Sith Iniquisitor, Bounty Hunter and Jedi Knight stories most of all.

I am also hoping by the time I have finished all 8 classes, they will introduce 2 new classes with full stories! (very greedy of me!)

The thing I am hoping for most of all in SWTOR is territory control. I really want to own ships, space stations and sith academies. Space combat would be another great feature. I don't know that either of these features will be in game. My guess is they are both so big, I can see space combat and territory control being added in an expansion or patch post-launch.

Eh I will give it a go, it will be like their other fps rpg's and for me that's great, I can group or not, most MMO's are going this rout as more gamers get older and have less time to dedicate to a full MMO of the past. Being I love the previous titles, I see no reason why I wouldn't enjoy this one. It will be nothing like swg, to bad, but then again I like what they made with this series so I will give it a go for sure.

The game looks nice, the old KOTOR games were great. And what I've heard of the story of this game. Makes me interesting.

not me I'm not paying 14-20 bucks a month that adds up after awhile and yeah I'm well aware that if pays for maintance  fees I don't care. Paying a monthly fee to play a game is still stupid

Depends on the MMO.  If it's done right*, the game will be always have something for you to do, to enjoy, and to work for, even if you play every  day of every month.

15 bucks a month is nothing.  That's 90 bucks every 6 months.  Would you rather have 1 game that never gets boring / is never "beatable," or buy 1.5 pc/xbox games (at around $60 each), beat them in well < a month, and have nothing new to do for 5 months?

*Rarely does anyone do it right.  MMOs that did it right:  Everyquest 1&2, WoW.
MMOs that did it wrong: Vanguard, FF11, Age of Conan, Aion, City of Heroes/Villians, D&D Online, Warhammer

Look for when the Alliance B.O.B. got disbanded by a "spy" who moved up thru the ranks to a member of the board.
That was some great time.

This is exactly why I'm afraid of joining. Not because it's a bad game(it's great from what I see), but because I'm afraid of the people. Either way, it might be a little bit like WoW in the sense that if you just stick to your own people and try to ignore everybody else, it shouldn't be a problem. I really hope that's the case. And I really f@cking hope I won't play online without at least a friend or two from here.

Maybe we should post a designated Bioware Social server when the time comes.

That would be nice. I don't want to be slammed by fellow Star Wars nerds.  A fan once told be that "fans are the worst part of Star Wars". Personally, I think he was right. So, I'm adopting what some people do on WoW to avoid getting bullied by other people which is the thing I just stated above. I love Star Wars. I watch The Clone Wars series(don't laugh), I've watched the Original, I've read some of the books and even when it got bumpy, I still liked it. But I do notice how in the SWTOR forums(I generally hang out STAR WARS Discussion to avoid some of the chaos that goes on) it's just filled with complaining. Everyday it's about "Stop Lucas, he's ruining Star Wars!" or "This contradicts what was said in the EU! Lucas doesn't care!"

Well, you know what(be prepared guys, I'm about to start ranting)? These people should at least be grateful that Lucas and his team include material from the EU. The Star Trek EU existed longer than the SW EU. In terms of Star Trek, the EU was always a seperate universe. And that was fine with me. When I read Star Trek EU, I was OK with it not being canon what so ever. That's how George looks at. He even said himself that, "When I said [other people] could make their own Star Wars stories, we decided that, like Star Trek, we would have two universes: My universe and then this other one."

The Star Wars EU gets way more attention then it should have. That itself should have been enough. But no, fans aren't content to the point that they say "Lucas HATES Star Wars!". Jesus, what else do you people want? Remember when you wanted an other comedy-oriented series by made Seth Green based on Star Wars? Well, you got one. Remember when you wanted Mandalorians in The Clone Wars? Guess what? You got just what you wanted. Want more live-action? They're already making one. Want the both trilogies on Blu-ray? They're making it.

Gah, I'm so angry!

I am a star wars fan... MORE TIE FIGHTER GAMES DANGNABIT!!!!!

Honestly tho... ya and they are the loudmouth minority. Yes Lucas butchered the prequel trilogy but then we do get to watch Anakin get burned to a crisp... that made it up for me.

Some people take their entertainment WAY too seriously

I'm planning on only playing with BSN folks.
