Says it does bonus damage to enemies affected by biotic powers.  So, fire a Singularity, and just blast away at the cluster with a SMG?

The description for Warp Ammo is a bit misleading, it just gives a flat +50% (at rank 4) bonus to damage against health, armor and barriers. (It may give a small bonus to damage when an enemy is effected by a biotic power, but I've never really noticed it - the +50% is the real draw.)

If an enemy is affected by biotics & your using warp ammo then the extra damage you get from the warp ammo power is doubled:wizard:

Probably the best to use on insanity for effectiveness and its a passive.

Just take zaeeds squad disruptor (or a couple of area overloads) instead on heavy shield and mech levels

Yeah. Take the following example: you're firing Tempest at a target's health. Tempest has a base DPS of 216 without reloading (based on my calculation), assuming all shots hit. You have 5/5 SMG damage upgrades and no damage bonuses from armor, Miranda, etc. Let's compare the damage done to the target when not using an ammo power and when using Heavy warp ammo or Tungsten ammo, when the target is affected by Pull and when he's not. When affected by Pull, the target's in ragdoll mode, so the damage done by the weapon is doubled (but the damage bonus from ammo makes a separate call).

(1) No ammo power, no pull
216 x 1.5 = 324 DPS

(2) No ammo power, pull
216 x 1.5 x 2 = 648 DPS

(3) Heavy warp ammo, no pull
The result from (1) + ammo bonus = 324 + (216 x 0.5) = 324 + 108 = 432 DPS

(4) Heavy warp ammo, pull
The result from (2) + ammo bonus = 648 + (216 x 0.5 x 2) = 648 + 216 = 864 DPS

The damage done by Heavy warp ammo in both scenarios is 33.3% more than no ammo (would vary with different upgrades, armor etc).

However, if you were using Tungsten ammo, you'd get the following result:

(5) Tungsten ammo, no pull
324 + (216 x 0.7) = 324 + 151.2 = 475.2 DPS, or 10% more than Warp ammo

(6) Tungsten ammo, pull
648 + 151.2 = 799.2 DPS; Warp ammo does 8% more damage

As you can see, Heavy warp ammo is not going to give you a significant edge over Tungsten ammo. Are you going to be shooting at targets in ragdoll more than half the time? Plus, a target affected by pull will 1) be unable to do anything to you, and 2) will go down quickly even without an ammo power, so I would deem it vastly more important to maximise damage done to enemies that are actually a threat to you; enemies that you have to shoot when you're waiting for powers to cool down. Given that warp ammo does extra damage to barriers, I would recommend Heavy warp ammo over Tungsten ammo only when fighting collectors.
