I'm wondering if it will be a problem to acquire female voice actresses for modules we make.

Was this a problem in NWN/NWN2? Or could you get good quality female voice-overs?

Any female voice actresses out there? =]

People didn't use much voice acting in their custom NWN mods. The main campaign only had small amounts of voice acting so it seemed fine to get away with it in custom content. I imagine a lot of mute dialogue in DA custom content.

It's an aspect of the game I think it's worthwhile to put a bit of work into though. Good voice acting does convey so much more than just text. I certainly hope we will manage to work that into the projects I'm a part of at least.

Theoretically, if a modder could afford to hire Jennifer Hale or Elizabeth Sroka, you could put voiceover work into a mod (I doubt the actresses would be very picky about who they work for, be it large companies like Bioware or individuals), but who here can afford to do so?

I normally don't wait for the voiceover to finish regardless.

There are amateur voice actors out there who are actually pretty good, and do voiceovers for free. I just know more male ones than female.

Like who? I'd certainly be interested in contacting them come next year and my friends and I start looking into modwork.

I'm female, and I've done voice work for mods in the past. I don't know how good quality it is, but I'd like to say it's at least fair. I'd be willing to try whatever anyone wants to throw at me.

Well, anyone interested in voice acting or looking for voice actors could start here.

As said, to get some female actors on the list would be great.

Edit: Rivie, try recording some of the lines suggested here and send them to jazzy to put on the database. Then we can hear what you sound like :)

I think the main problem for people will be equipment. I for one have a pathetic mic. But I will be investing in a better one soon. B)

Getting willing voice actors wouldn't be a problem (though they probably wouldn't be very high-quality). The issue is that without studio-quality recording equipment, it will sound quite bad.
