52 hours into the game (not counting reloads, I imagine), and I managed to reach the ending. From not-so-humble beginings as the only survivor of Highever, to a glorious and selfless sacrifice to end the Blight, I saw a great deal of what Dragon Age was, though not everything.

From the RP side, fantastic job. Great story, amazing cinematics, entertaining and epic sidequests (Sacred Ashes was fantastic), and the mood was set perfectly in certain areas. The characters, too, were very interesting. I did neglect some of them, chosing to only focus on half of them for my first play through, and then developing the others in later play-throughs. I also enjoyed the choices that were made available to my character.

From the game side, quite a few small complaints. I tend to favor playing warriors, either as tanks or melee DPS. Sneaking around and doing combat indirectly isn't my bag, and neither is sitting at the back, outside of the action, wiggling my fingers. As such, I struggled through most of the game, and found myself absolutely reliant on Wynne. Most boss fights I ended up playing her directly, and found that I enjoyed playing a mage more than I did a warrior. The inability to regain stamina, plus the heavy costs of every ability, really worked against warriors for me. That and how even with heavy armor, I found myself taking a very heavy beating, needing constant heals in every fight.

I kept at it, though, and managed to beat the game (unpatched) on normal difficulty. In the end, though, I was really disappointed with Loghain. I wanted to side with him the whole game, thinking that we were only getting pieces of the picture from his side. But the Loghain in the game didn't reflect the Loghain from the books at all, as near as I could tell. Yes, he hated the Orlesians with a passion, but even so I really can't see Loghain from the Stolen Throne being THAT dishonorable towards his own people, and ESPECIALLY not to Rowan's son. So, I was disappointed to see that his brilliant mind was instead corrupted with fear and power.

On the whole, though. Fantastic game, truly great.
