Might be a complete noob question, but is there there somewhere I can find/generate a combat log after/during battle, so I can examine various damage types, spell casting patterns from enemies etc. without having to resort to cathing this info purely by trying to catch the floating numbers/colour coding on both friends and foes during battle...

The latter seems to me an impossible task...

No, there isn't a combat log and personally I like it this way because the game doesn't put much emphasis on power building. However, I would have liked it better if the numbers were at least included in the description of the spells and talents. There is a mod for that but I am not sure how accurate the descriptions are. You can also get those numbers from the Wiki.

No combat log. But the detailed tooltip mod gives you the numbers for various spells. The wiki is also very accurate.

If you know how to script you can modify the spell scripts to print to the debug log. Still it is not very ideal because you have to exit the game to check the results. I have done that a little bit to get the attack rating for an arcane warrior and the shield damages. But it is a real pain.

Be nice to see one, personally. Give me an idea of how much of X or Y is being resisted, what runes are stacking or not, what are the components of damage you're doing, etc., etc. Otherwise, you basically have to guess from some numbers flashing & disappearing on the screen pretty quickly.

Also, incidentally, if something is really "bugged" with regard to damage (like some suspect in DA:A, or some feel, WRT shapeshifting), it could help you figure that out.

I know many are not in the "gearhead" orientation of that; so it could be an option some could view and most could ignore.

I like the detailed tooltips, too. Wish they were a feature, but like the mod.
