For the love of the Divine Beings; don´t eat MRE´s! They will mutate inside your stomach into something unspeakeable and nefarious!

MRE's are made by da guvernments to brain wash your testicles.

I tried one once and I will not do it again if I can avoid it. It´s awesome to feel your stomach like the burning pit of Hell for two days.

The chicken and rice isn't too terrible.

Also, Ayone worth thier salt knows to carry tobasco sauce with them if there is even the remotest possibility of an MRE making an appearance.

It was not because of Tabasco. I mean, I can tolerate Thai chili or Habanero without issues.

The problem was the massive amount of preservatives and chemicals of the like that it had.

I insist; that "food" makes you want to kill and slaughter to ease the stomach pain, so it makes sense that the poor guys of the USMC get that.

I had the biggest crush on Annabella Lwin way back then. I hated the music.

Dammit. I come back here and everybody is just discussing random stuff that has nothing to do with the original post and no, posting crackpot conspiracy theories doesn't count.

To be fair, not even the original post had much to do with the original post.

For once I think that you´re right but maybe you´re bypassing an extra problem: company interests. Sure, getting a decent meal in schools and learning that if you want proteine, McDonnalds is not the best way to go is true but...

Did the documentary told about the companies and interests behind the school menu and if they had an arrangement with said companies?

Because in some places this is the exact source of the issue.

No, it wasn't a Michael Moore style anti-corpoate documentary.  It was very personal.  It focused on the people and ways they could solve their problems.
Jamie Oliver was not looking for a scapegoat to blame everyone's problems on.  Rather he was actually encouraging people to take personal responsibility while advocating a more responsible school lunch program.

It was not politically biased at all, his only agenda was helping the town.

This thread was thrown off topic when a delusional idiot started talking about his swordsmanship and wrote us a lovey work of fiction that even a 14 year old could best.

Neither I am politicaly biased. Sometimes out of convenience, sometimes due to pure bribes to schools with low funding companies push ethics way further than they should.

But the final effect is evident: a correct nutrition where everything is present in apropriate amounts is the key to be more productive, feel happier and save a lot in medical bills.

A 14 year old with a superior memory than you obviously since you've conveniently omitted the fact that it was you who made an issue of my physical prowess and skill with the blade even though I had not brought it up.
had you not desired such information, you wouldn't have brought it up but you can't expect to make a mockery of my life's passion and not invoke a response.
I confronted you on it, you were outraged so  you maliciously sought to destroy my thread.

Of course corporate special interests are involved.  Junk food companies have far more financial power than any distributor of healthy produce so they're going to be the one's with the lobbies and the political clout to get what they want.
The USA is a plutocracy where money is a measurement of power and every politician in the country up to the president is for sale.
This "food revolution" by Jamie Oliver may not change any government policies but it does have the potential to ****** some people off.
That is what we need, lots of really pissed off people.  Nothing short of a revolution can save the USA.  The nation is corrupt to the core.

Luckily I cook myself most of what I eat: it´s cheaper, it´s healthier and it´s not particularly complicated.

I do hope we never cross paths.  I've trained myself not to give in to my dark emotions, and that my powers are meant to be a force of good.
You risk taking me down a dark path.
