Once i lost Mordin for a change because I got him to hold the line.
I say get everyone loyal, send mordin to help the survivors back, Miranda 2 lead the fire team, Legion or tali to go in the ventilation duct. I also always use Samara for the biotic barrier.
I would also recommend taking miranda aslong as she is loyal to fight the human reaper she adds more script when the illusive man tries 2 talk u into saving the base

I've taken Legion with me to the end boss both times so far. His upgraded Widow sniper rifle is pure awesome on Harbinger. Also, yea, I've used Tali and Kasumi for ducts, Jacob and Miranda for second squad and then I always bring Garrus and Legion for the end boss. Garrus for the AP ammo and Legion for his weapon. Works great.
