Uninstall and you wont have the problems anymore.

This could be a copy and paste from WoW forums. See troll you are in good company Image IPB

That is what i was aiming for. You have to get down to their level and sling mud. There is no point posting long well thought out rebuttals for a thread like this.

Honestly i'm starting to agree. The amount of blind faith idiots on this forum is staggering. Most i've come across cling like rats to a sinking ship with one line about this being a spiritual successor to BG which obviously should have implied dated and broken graphics and gameplay. All of which i guess i missed while playing KOTOR/JE/ME etc over the last 10 years. Go figure though right?

Yikes I could see where this game would suck if your tactics are charging in and running enemies in circles while ranged people plink at them. That's just not something you have to do ever.

Well I wouldn't say EVER.

I mean, you don't have to do it in DRAGON AGE, like even once, but it's how I do everything ELSE in my life.

Example: To catch my breakfast this morning, I ran around in the woods until a bear started chasing me. My party members then shot at it until it died. I then looted its corpse for delicious meat. I made bearbacon.

Example2: In order to make this post, I punched my keyboard then ran around in circles so it would chase me while my party members shot at the keys in the correct order to make these words. Several arrows were wasted on hitting backspace because my rogue can't spell.

Example3: In order to buy Dragon Age: Origins, I drove my car into a Gamestop, then drove around in circles so that it would chase me, allowing my party to shoot at it. I then looted its corpse. I had to dig through a largeish pile of Wii shovelware to find my prize.

Haha oh jesus, remind me not to ask about your romantic life :P

Go back to your PS3 - you don't know what you're talking about.

I am mildly confused as to how what console he is playing on is relevant beyond technical issues.

Console difficulty levels aren't the same as PC.

Playing on PC, Hard Mode, finding it an excellent, balanced challenge, too hard to just blindly walk through the fights (and quite right too!), but have not yet hit any "brick walls". If "Hard" was easier I would be dissappointed. Played on "Normal" previously and would consider that a little too easy. Although I have "history" with BioWare / RTS / MMO games, which makes life much easier I'm sure. Might use "Normal" / "Easy" for grabbing the rest of the achievements tho. Also interested to try Nightmare, which I will do once I really know the game! :-)

wtf is this "running in circles" stuff about? This is NOT WoW, you do NOT run in circles in Dragon Age, unless you are a WoW addicted retard.

Apart from that, I am pretty sure the OP has never played Baldur's Gate either, despite his claims.

I can assure you I have played every IE game made to date.  But you wouldn't know anything about them, so it's moot anyway.

Just linking in my own thread on this, I'm sure theres others, we should probably tie together all the threads that are giving reasonable negative feedback on dynamics elements and find a place in the middle where everyone agrees with each other.

another quick reminder if you MUST CRY about the game there is a very simply explination & solution. DO not play b/c you are terrible at DAO & you will most likely fail. Just sell the game, return but for the love of god stop crying. Try new party members, adjusting your tactics, new battle strategies or if you find the game combat flawed in general stop CRYING & just quit playing.

I can't believe he is still crying about this.

He feels wronged because he didn't spend any time reading up on the gameplay of the game before he bought it\\. Who's fault is that? And he is apparently incapable or unwilling to learn how combat works illustrated by his clinging to the "running and circles" nonsense.

He is just trolling. No one could be so dense to actually play through combat in the way he claims he has to do. I don't care how scary and confusing the game may be for him, basic combat strategy is not difficult.

It's a response with the same amount of logic behind it as the post of yours I was quoting.  You know nothing about what I've played, and nothing I've said in this thread implies ANYTHING other than the fact that I have played every IE game that Black Isle & Bioware produced.

I could understand if a newer player, or someone that had played ME or KotOR on normal and then come to this game playing on normal would feel this way, because I do think this game's "normal" mode is harder than other games' normal modes. I haven't tried easy yet either so I cannot attest to that mode and its difficulty relative to normal.

But as a player with as much IE experience as you say you have, I am surprised you feel this way. Have you considered that because of your experience with the IE mechanics that there is perhaps an expectation of things working similarly that is creating a difficulty? I've only played BG2 of the older games, but I haven't encountered the difficulties you have on normal.

So you've played every last Bioware BI game & yet you're still terrible at DAO. Oh well guess you should just keep crying kid!!!!!!

My point exactly. I was also a huge BG2 fan and find the combat actually amazingly similar. Even more: I am using the exact same tactics as I did in BG2 and am pulling it off just fine.

how many people actually read the support descriptions in the difficulty levels?

Easy; Normal". etc....

*hmmm.......the game practically holds your hand in getting you to the right playstyle suited for you. tells you pretty much exactly how combat is going to pan out.....whoa...whatta concept.

but wait......

I'd rather whine that my Grey Warden isnt Commander Shepard.

Only time I had to kite something was when i screwed up tanking the Ogre in the tower and had to have my mage run in circles. But that was MY fault. And that was with Alistair and the dog tag team tanking(hoping both using their abilities would keep them higher than the mage on the hate list) with the circle mage and my char a rogue using a bow to stay out of rear kick melee range. After a few circles the dog was able to regain aggro with a well timed howl....and we finished the ogre off.

I seriously can't understand the TC. He claim's he played BG. This game is so like BG, you even had 2 more guy to control and some of the fight in that game we're seriously f*** hard.

For all the little crying he do. I think there's only one option. : He's gay.

HEY Now...don't bring Commander Shepard in to this! He (or She) has his (or her) own problems come the end of Jan. :)

...note to self: Play the PC version of Mass Effect after beating Dragon Age...

anyway on with the topic at hand

The way the game talks about Grey Warden's you'd think other wise ;)

Not to mention theres a fact 200 Grey Wardens held off the entire Ferelden Army once.  So I'd not be so certain.
