A serial killer who kills people for pleasure is worse than someone who was hunting down mercenaries and criminals? wat

Samara kills innocents to, including police officers, if you hadn't noticed. She kills a lot more people at a time than does Morinth.

I hardly think Morinth gives a damn. It doesn't stop her from killing Shepard in sex. You may say that Shepard may ask for sex but Morinth has the power to refuse.

If she didn't care, she wouldn't have followed Shepard through the Omega-4 Relay. All of the people on the Normandy are willing to sacrifice their lives for Shepard's cause.

Or she wants a chance at Shepard that badly. It seems that she considers Shepard's mind incredibly powerful (tasty).

That's not because she is loyal to Shepard. That's because she wants to have sex with him. That's it.

I thought she said she would kill them if they got in her way, not that she did.

She kills a lot more people at a time than does Morinth.

Morinth would kill those police officers if they were simply interesting. That's an extreme amount less sympathetic than Samara's reasoning. If Morinth had a way to eat them all at the same time, she probably would. Provided that they were "interesting."

She can't eat Shepard if Shepard is dead, can she? The suicide mission is part of the hunt. Of course giving the impression that she's working for Shepard would lower Shepard's guard.

I'll take your word for it at this point, since I've realized I'm defending Morinth way too much.

Shepard just killed the one person in the galaxy hunting Morinth down, after resisting her mind control attempts. When it says Morinth is "Loyal", I'm pretty sure that means she's loyal. If you want to go have brain-sex with a space-vampire, by all means go ahead. But she's not going to try it.

That being said, I still don't like either of them.

Morinth only wants to kill me through sex, this may shock you but it is possible to turn down sex..

Do you not remember the loyalty mission? If you didn't have enough paragon or renegade points, you start getting mind controlled by Morinth.

...Yes but are you forgetting to recruit Morinth you have to be stong enough to resist her, which I did, then when she offered (after the suicide mission) I resisted again...

The fact that you have to resist her mind controlling should be reason enough. If she catches you off guard, like say drugging you, you may as well say goodbye to the world.

Again, as soon as I get the opportunity I'll kill her, if I wasn't limited by the game I'd of had her dead immediately after the suicide mission.

Of course a lot of her dialogue at that point is her buttering up Shepard's ego and selling him on the idea that they can meld safely, which is of course a total and complete lie.

Or you could just kill her when you have the chance. At least Samara tells you that she's going to hunt you down if you're renegade, you can prepare for her. Morinth? She lies to you and says that sex wouldn't kill you. And she can mind control you. Much less predictable.

If Nihilus managed to keep up with and outsmart Samara Shepard sure as hell can. She's not a threat.

You had some good points Ecael, just thought they didn't quite fit.

Either way, having two different Asari take the same place with Liara still alive doesn't bode well for their return in ME3 (although I don't mean to dive off-topic again).

Seems very likely that Morinth won't return. I mean..how many people are going to go for the serial killer who wanted to kill you over the paladin? We have a few people in this thread, but I really doubt most people chose her outside of playthroughs just to mess around.

That, or to get the Renegade points. You get a lot of them.

I'm not defending Morinth personally, I'm just explaining why Sela (my Renegade Femshep) chose her over Samara. Personally, I actually like Samara and I felt a little dirty for killing her, especialy after I got the message from Nef's mother. I'm doing another playthrough soon anyway so I can kill Morinth again.

Well, the character select screen does says 'loyal' though.

Unless she wants 'loyalty' sex, whatever that is.

I don't think we should factor in game mechanics to this. "Loyalty" is probably the wrong term. They should have used the word "focus" or something.

I love Samara, but I think in Me3 she wont be there. Didnt she say she'll only stay for one mission, and then go off to asari space?

I think Samara/Morinth will definitely not be party members but rather just make a cameo.

Not just that, but the fact that she can die outside the suicide mission and be immediately replaced by another character (who can also die) doesn't do much for her chances.

Prior to its climax, Samara's loyalty mission consisted of the following:

1. Walking around and pretending that NO ONE on Omega would notice the leather-clad  regal-looking Justicar.
2. Talking to a grieving mother.
3. Donning those terrible street clothes, clubbing and acting like a douche for a while
4. Sitting on a couch for a few minutes
5. Literally just stand there while mother and daughter go at each other.

I could see Renegade Shep offing Samara out of spite for wasting his/her time..

Yes but the probability of Morinth trying to kill you is still much greater than Samara (even when you are renegade.)

Hardly. She will only try to kill me by seducing me which I've already proved doesn't work. Samara though, she'd do it the old fashioned away. Besides, the galaxy is better off with one less justicar in the world.

Direct quote from Morinth:  "I love a game where your opponent believes he is about to win......right up untill you kill him"

That is when she is talking about chess, by the way. Chess.

Besides, Samara is not a threat. She couldnt even take Nihlus.

You could always kill both of them off. No more worries of trained Asari killers coming after you!

Yeah, the person who lost the chess game was Samara. The only way for Morinth to win is if you accept her offer of sex. As for Nihlus, he was one of the best Spectres in the galaxy.

He would of been better if he had eyes in the back of his head.
