If I use an import file, is this possible or not? Right now I'm under the impression that the 70% class bonuses make all conversations too difficult to pass.

Depends how much you focus really. Should be alright and you can always respec.

It depends if you focus on being just paragon or renegade. If you try to be both I'd imagine it'd be difficult to make every dialog check.

I did most of them. The only one I failed at was in Thane's mission where you can intimidate Kelham by saying you're spectre. I probably could have passed that if I held off that quest a little longer,

I went through a 2/3 playthrough to unlock talents and then start a new game.

Used an import file with full Paragon, took the 70% bonus and had no problem getting Paragon maxed. Picked almost all Paragon options during dialogue, chose a few Renegade interrupts (Tuchanka, anyone??).

I doubt you'd be able to pull it off if you don't mostly follow one path or the other, though.
