So I just finished DLing Dragon Age from the EA store, installed it just fine... Everything was going merrily alog until I opened the launcher and pressed 'play'

'We're sorry, an error has occured.
Error: Could not connect to EA Core.'

Is there any way to solve this problem?

I have to say I'm a little bit surprised that I have to connect to anything online to launch a single player, presumable offline, game... But I suppose with all the gadetry of our times that's a bit naive :P

I hope someone can help me solve this problem, or direct me to some info about it.

Thanks :)

EDIT:  Tempted to try the EACoreUninstall in bin-ship, but I don't wanna mess things up that I don't really know about :-/

Are you using a router between your computer and internet connection?

You'll need to make sure the proper ports are open and allowed via your router to allow Dragon Age to connect to the internet.

Test the game to make sure it is in fact, a router issue.

Remove your router.

Connect your internet directly to your PC.

Click PLAY.

I've found a solution. Open up the EA Download Manager and enter your serial number for the game there to activate it. I did that and it works fine now.

I found a Solution!!

In this folder C:\\ProgramData\\Electronic
Arts\\EADM\\cache (on windows vista) there are temporary information
lying around from when you predownloaded. This seems to give problems
with the activation. If you just delete everything in that
folder(alternatively move it to another folder), then restart the
download manager and click the Play button.

I hope this helps
