I'm sure it's been asked but I'm curious. Anyone have thoughts on potential new races in future content? I'd like to see something like half-elfs, orcs, half-orcs. A playable werewolf like maybe an exiled member of the ones from the elven forest. Of course Qunari would be cool. A renegade talking darkspawn that sympathizes with humanity and such was a thought i had, too. Maybe a renegade talking darkspawn whose skills/abilities have been augmented with dragon blood in a similar fashion to that of the Joining. Gnomes and goblinoid were suggested by a friend of mine as well. Some that are a little more far-fetched, but i believe could be worked in somehow, are centaur, minotaur, and troll-like races. I know some may sound silly and some have been overdone, but i' would like to hear any thoughts you guys may have. Thank you.
New races in future content...thought?

Well Darkspawn already encompass orcs and goblins, even more so if they gain independence after awakenings. Half elves and such just end up looking like humans according to the lore.

What about racial abilities? I forgot to put that in there.

I doubt goblins, orcs or trolls will show up.. Darkspawn and qunari would be possible but since I doubt we will see females for either it is a little iffy (all darkspawn females seems to be broodmothers and the qunari have very strict gender roles)

Qunari and Desire demons. One male only and one female only.

There is so much they can do. Keep in mind Thedas is huge, but it is only one continent of the world. The qunari came from across the ocean, and it said at the end of origins that some of the roving bands crossed the Amaranthine ocean. Who knows what is on the other continent(s) and why they have not experienced any blights yet?

Not necessarily the Tal'Vashot. (Qunari who don't follow the Qun, can be found mainly in Rivain)

To be honest I think the races we've got in Origins are all we're going to get, it seems to me that they replaced the array of races you get in other games with the origin stories, which I think is a much better way of defining a character than having you make a chracter from a massive array of choices and then dropping them into a default story.
But I've gone off topic, all I meant to say was I doubt we'll see more than 3 races to choose from, certainly no more than 4, should Qunari becomes an option.

They've got a whole world to "fill". I suspect along the way we'll see a lot more than 3 races.
Maybe some will be playable.
The playable werewolf would be cool. It might have an intrinsic shapeshift (to wolf form) as a racial ability. In your werewolf form, you might run faster, use claw/bite attacks, maybe even use overwhelm, etc.
Playable Qunari are interesting although I'm still wondering whether Qunari really are "giants" per se or are just "really very big oversized humans".

Qunari is a definite must have race on the next instalment however I would like bioware to expand the origin stories for races.
Human: Commoner or Soldier origins
Elves: Bandit elf or slave elf sold to the tevinter
Dwarfs: Smith caste, Warrior caste and other caste that weren't an origin story in DAO

Dwarven smith class could be interesting, make your own armour and expand on the rune idea from awakenings (just bit better)

Elf and human breeding produces a human.
Can we have something original?
Not the same old rehashed crap.

I think the amount of races in Dragon Age Setting is alright. Don't go forgotten realms over this setting...
Hm, perhaps snake people? The jungles north of Anderfels could possible host some other raceS? Crab people? ;D

I was surprised when I first saw how few races there were in Dragon Age; only 3. But as someone mentioned here, the origins stories are far better at fleshing out a character than a default introduction story. My point is then, if I could choose between more origins stories(as many or perhaps just one more race) and a lot more races but lower quality on the origins, I'd go for option one. The Origins stories made Dragon Age something special..

the only race I can see being added is qunari but I agree with expanding the origins like apostate mage, human commoner or a chasind barbarian would be cool

I seriously want a talking darkspawn orgin! lol. Or at least a companion. My epilogue did say mister general of Architect's army was going around saving humans.
