Greetings,

I have completed ME1 and ME2 once as Paragon, and now starting a new ME1 as Renegade.

However: In some guides I read something about class specialization.
e.g.  a soldier could become a commando or shock trooper.

But how or when does one become 'specialized'? How do I unlock this?

My first playthrough was an adept and beyond spectre training, I never got the chance to specialize in anything?

Hackett will contact you after reaching level 20 and when you enter a new system to do this assignment. This is where you get the class specialization.
