How my school almost got a Mass Effect themed prom.

I come from a small highschool of only 1,200ish students. Of which I'm the Senior class treasurer, frankly because no one was running against me. That said our prom is in late May, so today we had a lunch meeting for the ASB class officers to discuss a theme. Some ideas where thrown out there such as "Garden of Eden", "Greek Olympians", "Urban theme" etc.
Then the Vice President Harry Ried , said "Hey, lets have a theme based off James Camron's Avatar." And that seemed to be what we where going to go with until I interupted.
Where I argued that, do we really want to conform to the mainstream fan rage for Avatar? Can we let people show up hardly wearing anything?
Ried was kinda upset at this, so he retorted what would you suggest.
That's when I layed out the idea for our school to stand apart and try something new, a video game themed dance a Mass Effect dancein particular. My argument was that the ME universe has numerous alien species, that we could design a costume off of. (you must understand our proms are more dressup then, tux and dress) "Avatar would be gay."
That set him off into a rant, supporting Avatar and swearing at me.
I told him if he loved James Camron so much why don't you go screw him.
Ending up with him telling me to go to hell, and me calling him a conformist bastard.
Mr. Goodman our VERY forgiving class councilor was not happy and broke it up.
So it was up to a vote, Mass Effect or Avatar. The vote for Avatar was 3-2.
The other person voting for it was Courtney, class President. Who also did'nt like Ried.
After the vote, ried told your's truely to suck it. (To put it kindly)
So I went out with style, pointing and yelling "I've had enough of snide insinuations, I resign!"
And I walked out of the room, but their going to need someone to fill my spot for the next 2 months.
Later that day both of us were called down to the office for a punishment.

So basically....you were on the council and suggested Mass Effect theme.
The Turian member of the council, we'll call him Reid was like "Ah yes....Mass Effect" "We reject this claim in favour of Avatar"
And you were like "Screw you guys! I quit"
I love it!
