I can see it now. A line dance, then some clown yells "HOLD THE LINE!" Seriously, hillarious thread.

Cool story. I mean that seriously too. Not in a condescending internets meme way. If that guy was half as angry as you described I'd probably die laughing. Talk about your devoted Avatar fans!

Also, I too read Prom as Pron at a glance. Gah. >.<

My high school prom last year was a purely dress and tuxedo style event. I ended up not going because of some last minute complications...

He was'nt one of those teribly dress up as a navi fan, but he did support Avatar as being awesome movie ever none the less.  What probably got him more worked up was the fact, that I (the mostly do nothing tresurer) was now takeing enititive.

OP stated his prom is in late May. Therefore, it hasn't happened yet.

Totally. I wish we had a cool prom instead of the lame "Night Under the Stars" crap. Too bad I graduated before Mass Effect came out. I would have totally done the same thing.

Saying that avatar is for homosexuals is, quite frankly, an absolute insult to homosexuals.

Avatar is for furries, the worst things in the world, worse than nahzi zombies.

Nothing. I went to my proms because my mother wanted pictures. I would have been happier sitting at home with my PS2 playing DMC1.

I wore a frac in mine... and a "Smoke crack and Worship Satan" shirt beneath but... :P

I just hate that kind of celebrations. When I finished my degree in Spain I went to have dinner with some friends and that´s all. Celebrations always work better when you´re sorrounded by people who actually care about you and you care about them.

I graduated early, and had no interest in prom so I never went.

I listened to a school counselor try to convince a girl to go to prom, and the only reasons he could come up with was "spending time with your friends" and "never experience it again".

Rubbish, if you ask me. I can spend time with my friends whenever, I don't need to buy a dress, get all pretty, and pay for a ticket just to go to some over-hyped school event.

I've caused a lot of heart ache in my mother's life.

Not having birthday parties, not inviting friends over. The least I could do was give her some prom pictures... that I never look at.

You may want to do the last thing but for personal reasons that you find adequate; not because of social demmands.

I have to say that the night of my prom I had one of the best roasted lambs of my life.

And the shirt beneath the frac was a star of the night; especially when you have been attending a catholic school. ;)

I agree, but it all depends from viewpoint to viewpoint. However, it is quite sad how much society has hyped up the senior year of high school and college. Personally, I thought my junior year was far superior to my senior year, but oh well...

She's a strange woman and I'm her only child. She REALLY likes parties and gatherings. I like to be alone most of the time. I just don't like alot of people in my space.
