Shepard realizes that he is living in a dream world called the matrix and that the reapers are the machines that created this world. Bioware would be praised for their originality.

Shepard to Harbinger: The reapers never told you what happened to sovereign!

Harbinger: He told me enough! You killed Sovereign!

Shepard: no, I AM SOVEREIGN!

Harbinger: No, it can't be true!

Shepard: Look in your AI core, you know it to be true!

Harbinger: -explodes-

It is revealed that Asari lay eggs. For you Liara fans this will manifest as a tedious minigame called "Nesting" which will eat up an inordinate amount of time between missions. You will also need to collect twigs and bits of colored string from various shops throughout the galaxy that impart different bonuses.

Actually it is directly implied that Asari are live birth since they have belly buttons.

1. Saren is alive

2. The Illusive Man is a Reaper

3. Miranda's father is The Illusive Man

Sure Saren was great but the dead should stay dead. The other two are ridiculous theories that I keep hearing over and over. I really hope those two are nothing but a bunch of mindless assumptions.

Not really a twist, per se, but the war with the Reapers ends when Shepard demands that they "Get the hell out of our galaxy!" With their heads hung in shame, the Reapers obey.

Sheppard calls Stanley Woo to put the banhammer on the Reapers.

And they lived happily ever after, without those goddamn trolls...

"I have to stop the Reapers!"

"No, Shepard, you are the Reapers."

The game ends as soon as the fight between the combined fleets of every space faring species in the milky way and the reapers. Leaving only a screen that calls your shep's LI horrible horrible things, in an effort by Bioware to ****** everyone off.

My personal horrible twist (apologies if this has been posted before): The Reapers turn out to be the key to the riddle of dark energy buildup inside stars like Haestrom; they prevent a massive wave of supernovae every fifty thousand years -- while at the same time eliminating all sentient, spacefaring organic life as a result of a programming malfunction. Basically, not unlike some of the lame "revelations" from Robotech Macross.

nooo..... Your all Wrong!!!!

ME3 is going to be a strategy game like C&C4 were shepherd will lead a large army made up of various races to combat the reapers. They will have MCV were you can only build a few units at a time and not have to pay for them. What awonderful concept that is!!!

Then once he has succeeded he will be revealed to be an alien and ascend home forever never to return.

The units to appear will be:

Alliance/Collector soldiers

Asari/Harbinger commandos

Tanks (Turian maybe?)

Krogan battlemasters (A giant super tank looking like a lego thing)

Reaper/Geth dropships

- The Reapers win in the end because an intern level designer placed boxes higher than waist-height across a passage in the last mission.

- Cerebus and the Alliance are against Shepard, so s/he has no choice but to join the Reapers to survive.

A high-standing and popular alliance official betrays the alliance and joins the reapers. Not only will Shepard have to take down the Reapers and the official, he will also have to take all the blame himself, to ensure galactic stability. Because he is the only one who can!
