nope, i love the mass effect franchise with my heart and soul. but when it comes to an end, new intellectual property will be introduced. i am very excited for new IP.
Better prepare yourself for dissapointment when it comes to any new IPs coming out of EA/Bioware. As social gaming starts to take off here, you will be seeing less triple A game and not more in the coming years.

I'm not too concerned with EA's influence on Bioware. Greg and Ray are Senior Vice Presidents of EA, If anything, EA will be influenced by Bioware, not the other way around.
Regarding new Intellectual property. Bioware has a pretty healthy catalogue of licensed franchises and organic IP. I don't think BW is going to stop making new IPs just because past IPs were successful.
As for social gaming, social gaming is a lovely idea that pays for itself with advertisements. For casual gamers who want to do something at work other than work, Farmville and MafiaWars are great. But social gaming is a seperate industry - like all things on the internet - social gaming is reliant entirely on ad revenue. The best social gaming is going to get in the next 5 years is micro-transactions and cash-shops.
I don't expect to ever see boxed versions of farmville. Social gaming has its own business model, but again, it is seperate from the real video game industry. Console and even PC gaming are too reliant on selling boxes and higher quality content to justify the prices of those boxes. I don't think we're going to see Bioware, or even EA, abandon the business model of selling boxed games in order to make a new Facebook or XboxLive game.
Maybe in the next ~5 years we'll see some innovatve new business models make social/browser based gaming more lucrative, but for now, real gaming remains a marketable demographic - and subsequently, real games will still be made.

The actions of the 1 game should not be understated as it was in the second game. Nor it should in the 3rd. I do not need any more email's about who did this and that. It better affect my story or else call it Mass Coincidence 1,2,3, respectively.
I loved those emails. I liked how Mass Effect 2 handled continuity, specially if we compare it to... any other single game out there with the only possible exception of The Witcher.
I like that my actions have consequences, but at the same time I wouldn't like everything to depend on me, it's just not real, that would be lame. That's like saying that the rest of the galaxy inhabitants don't matter at all.
Getting thanks from people I helped on ME1 is great, even if it's only by email. It's not a galaxy-shattering change, but it's a big change to that single person. I know I'd love that in real life.

Better to end on a high note then to be endlessly bled dry like some poor water dragon/shepard of the dead
Speaking of which, I really wish Bioware will give another look at making a sequel to Jade Empire, though I think it's quite unlikely. One of the things I really like about Jade Empire is that you can influence the open-palm and closed-fist alignment of your love interests through dialogue interactions.

I wouldnt mind seeing a new game set in the Jade Empire universe but not a true sequel as the original storyline was wraped up rather nicely.
However what I would really like to see is a game based on a totally new IP.

I can't picture Mass Effect without Commander Shepard though.
QFT. I hope that they incoporate a system in which you can bring your Shepard into a new Mass Effect game on a new console. Maybe they can generate a code at the end of ME3 and when you put in Mass Effect 4 on your Xbox 720 there is a prompt for you to enter your code and voila, Commander Shepard is back. I'm all for other games in the Mass Effect universe too but I don't want to see Shepard's story end.

I'm looking forward to ME3 precisely BECAUSE it's going to wrap things up. A lot of the imported decisions from ME1 to ME2 were really quite cosmetic. You get a few different dialogues, meet a few familiar faces here and there, but it's still almost exactly the same.
I really hope that they go all-out with the consequences in ME3. BioWare haven't exactly done a great job in most of their games with providing repercussions for your decisions before, but they've got a really great opportunity here and I really hope that they don't f*** it up. There's so many great places the finale can go with the decisions made in ME1 and ME2 in terms of new allies and enemies (i.e. end of ME2)/NPC's/entirely new quest hubs (i.e. getting an entirely new planet to explore if you've made a friend in Noveria) depending on your choices.
If the trilogy plays out almost the same depending on your choices, I will be disappointed as hell. In ME2 it was kind of understandable since it's the middle part of the franchise, but they need to end it with a bang.
This.
Seriously, pretty much nothing I did in ME1 matters in ME2. I was seriously expecting big repercussions from stuff like saving a species from extinction and stuff like that. But what did that affect in ME2? I got the equivalent of a telegram saying "Hi, we're fine, we'll help you someday maybe. kthxbai". Like, what the hell?
Once I was done with ME2, I couldn't help but think "filler". I mean, seriously, there were no big revelations, no real advancement to the plot. The whole thing could have been a sidequest.
I really hope they'll do a better job with ME3 because what's the point of making decisions if they're not going to have any impact in the sequel(s)? Might as well start a new game there.
Seeing how they totally killed the RPG aspect in ME2 importing my old shepard made no sense from that angle either. He's right back at square one anyway and even if he was a soldier in ME1 he can now be a biotic god all of a sudden... Albeit not as cool as other biotic gods...
So yea, in a way I hope Bioware will make more self-contained games. I do really like the Mass Effect universe and the Dragon Age universe as well. But after the first games, I'm usually disappointed because I expected to see a bigger effect of what I have previously done. From that angle, I enjoy Jade Empire a lot more, because I know once I'm done, I'm done and there is no sequel that continues the story but ignores what I've done up to this point.
On a sidenote, how come people keep comparing continuity WITHIN the Witcher to continuity from ME1 to ME2. That makes no sense whatsover. Wait until the Witcher 2 is released, then compare the transition there from ME1 to ME2. I am really curious to see how that will be done because a few of the things I did in the Wicher really altered that world. But then again, I thought my choice regarding the coucil in ME1 made a difference too. Shows what I know.

None.
You get re-playability with the various classes. Why? Because they affect the way you truly play the game. You are forced to think and adapt.
If there is too much emphasis on the varying plot thread idea, all you get is a cheesy 'choose your own adventure' novel.
I want them to end it at ME3 and move on. It's exciting to think about what other new ideas Bioware could come up with.

Like they said, it is the best game they ever created. It would be a great loss if they simply throw away the franchise.
