On my Infiltrator, I mean, even on Veteran, with headshots, and enemies with shields, I'm practically OHKO'ing enemies left and right, which I guess is the point, with my  Assasination Cloak+Heavy Disruptor ammo "ruining someone's day" reguarly.  I guess I like the look/feel of the Mantis too, but damn, the Widow's practically artillery.

The widow is amazing, it one hits normal enemies with a headshot on Insanity as well.

I think its more cause I like how the Mantis looks, more old school ME 1 Sniper Rifle, plus, the bipod looking thing on the Widow at the front is LAME, whats the point of having something like that when you're never actually resting the rifle on the ground.

You one hit normal enemies with the Mantis aswell most the time.. Im hoping it one hits the higher ups like collecter assassins/guardians and those merch legionairs/vangaurds

The point of the bipod is that the Widow was designed as anti-armor/krogan sniper to be on the ground when fired, considering it's weight and recoil.

Well, it would have been cool if you can mount the widow on top of some low cover ... limiting its movement but providing a benefit (maybe quicker reloading?)

Less recoil, so faster recovery from recoil, so faster reloading.

Great idea to keep your head above cover at all time while weilding a sniper. :D

Won't help; it was pointed out it still one-shots most mobs even on insanity

Dude, just 'cos your gun is mounted there doesn't mean you have to be there.

If it really bothers you, fire the Cain at a boss. You won't feel so bad about using the Widow after that.

Yeah; but you'll need that one shot power a lot more on insanity and besides shouldn't the most powerful sniper rifle in the game be able to one shot a low level enemy?

I don't consider any of the guns in the game to be overpowered although I do consider a number of them (the Shuriken, Avenger, Katana, Predator and Carnifex) to be underpowered relative to their alternatives.

Some of the powers can be overpowered in the hands of Shepard though, particularly Reave, Energy Drain, and Dominate.

There are some enemies on Insanity that can be one-shot by the Widow, but most? That hasn't been my experience, but maybe I'm a worse shot than I thought.

Any lethal headshot is payback for the snipers in ME1, I say.

I vote for the mounting of sniper rifles in ME3, as well as mounting the Revnant on rails and such, it;s an LMG after all.

I feel your pain. I had the other kind of cloak and was heading shotting every single boss, guy, and big mech dead. I felt like Normal was a joke to my infiltrator after I picked it up because all I had to do was shoot shoot shoot. If things got hairy I would turn on cloak, get to some place safe or reposition then shoot shoot shoot. The big mechs also made things really easy when they show up because I would trash their sheilds, blow their heads off which causes them to mega boom all around them and I am like 'Heh...those are 6 guys I don't have to worry about' as an example.

That makes no sense. That wouldn't decrease the recoil in any way. The bipod is for stability and accuracy (real snipers don't stand there without the gun resting on an object or surface, after all,) and since it's basically point and click accuracy with Infiltrator, it's pointless.

And what's up with that? snipers owned ME1

Personally I don't see whats so broken about one-shotting mooks that would die in a few more seconds with the locust or reave. If it two shot bosses, then there'd be a problem.

ME1 Snipers also tended to take 5 shots to kill anything. Five very slow shots. Because every enemy had their God Mode (aka Immunity) on.
