What will happen in the sequel?

Wouldn't another plot about defeating archdemon of another blight be just a little boring? I would rather see something else in the sequels than more darkspawn.

Between DAO and Awakening, you roll on up to LVL 30+ and it just gets to be...too much.
Besides, new characters mean new origins. That would be fun in and of itself. I'd love to play a human character who wasn't either trapped as a circle mage or born a nobleman. Oh, and FORCED into being a Grey Warden. Hint.

Keeping in mind it's a Bioware game and you MUST be a member of some kind of special order --
In DA2 You'll play an older, experienced Orlesian Chevalier who has seen just about everything, including the countless atrocities that his/her fellow Chevaliers have visited upon the people of Orlais, since for being knights they get a blank check on what they get to do with the common man... Yep, sounds like DAO style freedom to do what you please!
Anyway, mark my words, the Warden will not be returning for DA2, and DA2 will be more limited in terms of race choices, as it is not an Origins-based game.
And everyone here will complain. And everyone here will buy it.

POLEARMS!!!
That is one weapon type that would seem so perfect in the Dragon Age setting, but does not exist for some reason. I hope that it works its way in... I'd love to create a Polearm-wielding Warrior!!!

I doubt it. There are too many directions we can go after origins. Morrigan and the child? Sten and the quanaari? Oralis? Antiva? chose a direction, I very much doubt bioware will dump the warden idea. Besides if you play as an Orlaisian warder in Awakenings it is hinted that a (6th? wast it?) Blight is comming, so our warden will be plenty busyVicious wrote...
In DAO you were an early 20's [translate to whatever race you are] Grey Wardens noob who must, slay the dragon and surprise surprise, ultimately save the day.

Antiva may also figure - after all you have that nice invite from the Crows to go work for them (if you did that questline), and also (though I've not played it yet) the fact they stole your sword in Awakening.

If the game tried to incorporate all the decisions you made (Did you agree to Morrigan's god-child idea? Who did you elect as the dwarven king? How did you handle the dalish elf vs werewolf problem?), it'll be a real challenge to mesh all your decisions together and still carve out a continuation of the story.
If the game just treat it as though your decisions didn't really matter (whether you agree to Morrigan's idea has no effect in the game), then players will start complaining.
I'd rather DA2 starts with a fresh slate with new ideas and new storylines.

"Books to pursue for future endeavors.
Lost countenance: Ferelden to Orlesian Phrase Book
-Must not offend the potential landlords
Raising Spirits: Offsprings and the Fade
-Terrible two's indeed!
Forest Fall: Truth and Legend in the Search for Arlathan
-Survivors? poppycock!
The Origin of Theses: Knowing more than Everyone without Looking Like a Jackass
-Never get the time to read this. Maybe there's a stage play?

That's an absolute certainty in regards to the sequel, no matter what path is eventually chosen for it.

Meh- if they tell us Morrigan is back and we can play as our Warden again, I'll buy it surely. But even then, after how rushed and buggy Awakening was, I'm a bit more reluctant towards rushing out and buying DA2. Not saying I won't but I'm definitely approaching it as a bit of a skeptic.

Your PC acts as Duncan did in the first game rescuing and training a new GW. Then some catastrophe befalls the GW's. Your PC vanishes after doing some spectacular stunt (like the Duncan's Ogre scaling but different)
Control switches to the New PC and that is the character you control for the remainder of the game.
I'm picturing something along the line of jade Empire. You follow the trail of your missing master. Along the way you find out things...disturbing truths and the like until the the big BW reveal when the big bad is shown to be the first PC. You either stick with the new kid fighting your old PC or you can switch back to your old character forcing you into a duel-to-the-death with your talented student.
