This game far exceeds any game out right now as far a replay value in my opion i have done over 300+ hours on many diffrent toons/origins and i got awakening and havent even played it yet nor do i see myself playing it for another 80+ hours of DA:O. The day i was contiplating buying this game i had very low expectations due to the fact that not many RPG's of this type now and days have soo much hype and zero gameplay to back it up *cough* Peter Molyneux *cough* ;) . I guess all im trying to state is this has been a great game and will countinu to entertain me for many hours to come. Thank you Bioware for this game it has given me hope in game devlopers that have in recent times not put out the content they boasted.

What does the community think about this topic?? Please speak your mind about this. Thank you for all your time.:innocent:

I liked it and played it to death when I first got it. However, if I have to go to Orzammer one more time I will throw my controller out the window.

According to the time counters on my save games I currently have over 300 hours on my 9 more or less "active" characters including 30 hours in Awakenings for the one character that completed Origins so far and moved on to Awakenings. I have decided to hold off on finishing Awakenings until I have some additional characters that have finished Origins and begun the expansion as well.

I have also probably had another 50 hours in characters that I eventually abandoned and I still have a few new character concepts I intend to start in Origins as well.

Needless to say I am quite pleased with the replayability as well...

The Deep Roads aren't specifically my issue, it's just the fighting and the engine which Orzammar does expose the most. It's very buggy and is literally a roll of the dice at times. It's infuriating. Going back and role-playing various characters would be so much more enjoyable if squad members wouldn't randomly stand there when given an order.

I've played every origin myself, and find myself feeling the same way now, except about everything from Ostagar on. I wish origins and questline choices had more of a significant impact on the game, beyond occasional comments on your race and what allies you round up for the Final Battle, and that combat was a lot less repetitive.

I love the game, but Orzammar makes me want to go head-butt something repeatedly. Ah well I don't let that ruin it for me, I just save it for last.

Well, after 800 hrs with this game, many characters, there is not a single place in the game world that I don't enjoy. Deep Roads, Fade, wherever, they are all fun if you go in-character with different characters and actually kick ass in NM. And the more you play the better you get.

(Like when I was so proud when my 2 hander with no mages in party took a high dragon. Someone said it was not so good since I took 6 minutes and he could do it in 3... well, in my last run with that same char remade for Awakening, with no DLC items but a mage with haste in the party, with some 6 playthroughs between them, it took me 1min 34secs to kill the same high Dragon.. hehe).

Plus different chars with different party combos gave me lots of different dialogue options for some funny videos that lots of people in YouTube say they gotta try that in their next playthrough.

And what used to take too long in earlier runs, like DRoads or Circle Tower/Fade, actually became pretty quick, even in NM (I only play NM), specially after I learned how to make the most with party tactics settings, without the extra tactics mod.

And as a good boaster that I am... =) ...

Check my latest DA:O char stats, 100% legit and without DLC mods here http://bit.ly/aXCQzz

Agreed. I've been enjoying the game and have played a LOT of hours.

Deep Roads is particularly long, but I break it up. I'll do one or two of the smaller quests related to the overall Dwarf recruitment portion, then go to the outerworld and do one of the Denerim quests, then come back and do more, then maybe go and slay the high dragon, etc.

That has helped me a lot with getting through and not getting frustrated at the length of the deep roads. And, of course, as I've played so many times now (a grand total of 15 or 18 characters between PC and 360, I'm guessing? And at least 5 complete playthroughs from those characters?), Deep Roads goes a LOT faster than it used to. That helps a lot. :)

I really, REALLY enjoy this game and am eagerly awaiting any new releases related to this franchise.

That's pretty funny.  On all my replays I didn't mind going back to the previous zones but I totally hated Orzimmar as well.  Interesting you are the same way.

Default tactics tend to do that.  I hope you have modified it some?  I don't even have to pause action anymore.  My party runs like a machine after I figured out what all the tactic option does.

I can agree that Orzammar is the part I dread every time I replay. I've played it through completely five times (with 340 hours total) and was on a sixth a couple days ago until I got to Orzammar and decided take a break and play through Awakening a couple more times. The Fade also can get boring after playing it six times through, but I don't dislike it nearly as much as Orzammar.

Do tactics affect a character's ability to take a potion when I tell them to? Regardless, no I do not use default tactics.

Well, I try to see it for the good side. Orzammar has nice stuff that will go with me throughout the game like the free ring and some very expensive items. Deep Roads is where to get the gold for them. Plus Legion of the Dead Armor and Effort Set are pretty good incentives, imho.

Same for the Circle Tower and Fade. Awesome belt and the bonus attribute points? And yes, we can do it very quickly too. I mean, all my runs were around 100 hours. I really don't rush. But when I did rushed with my 2hander remade for a fresh Awakening, I finished the game in 60 hours.

(he had sacrificed first time... with movies of it and all... only way I found to go Awakening with him was replay him from scratch! And I always do all there is to be done in the game so 60 hrs for me was pretty fast... 40%, 40 hours faster! =)

In the tactics you can  set up when your party member quaffs a potion based on stamina/mana or health using variables as 90pct low all the way down to 10pct.   You can even adjust it based on strength of the potion.  For example if member is down 10pct health use the "strongest" available health pot.  The tactics is very flexible once you delve into it some.

DA has lots of replay value I love it. I finished 4 origins characters, imported them into awakening and beat it with them. And I even had an Orlesian warden in awakening.

Well, I'm on my second playthough, so I can't yet evaluate a very long term replay value. I can easily see at least one or two more goes, and I do want to play through all the origins.

The game that's had the most replay value for me is clearly BG2 and it's expansion Throne of Bhaal. I spent countless of hours on it, on many, many playthroughs, and I'm still not sure I'm done with it, though I haven't played it in years. Might still reinstall it, get a few of the newer mods, and give it a go.

NWN2 also had great replayablity. DA:O might be about the same level with regards to replay value, I suspect.

Hmm, after the sacred ashes quest, the deep roads is my favorite part of the game. The only part that grinds my gears is the fade in the mages tower, it's essentially just a string of fetch quests if you want all the stat boosts.  My fourth play through is stalled there now, and has been for awhile, can't work up the motivation to do it again.

I cheat with dragonage averaging 20-25 hour runs.(not a fan of the combat)

Mods keep me moderately interested in replaying.

I agree with previous posts about Orzammar. I just dread going back there. I will be honest that Dragon Age is my first Bioware game I have played. It was recommended to me by a friend and I just fell in love with it. What hooked me was the replay value. While the overall storyline isn't affected to much, I just love seeing the different reactions I get from dialogue options. Am now on my third playthrough and I am sure there will be more.

For me, Orzamaar is about 5 to 7 hours to get through. Is so gruelling, and the fights aren't even that difficult except the broodmother.

This. Even after countless playthroughs (I've lost count...) I still find ways to replay it a little different.

And this, first time through took about 3-4 hours for Deep Roads and 2 hours for Circle tower, now I can do the whole Orzammar treaty quest in 1-2 hours and clear the circle tower in 45 minutes.
