The Character Show Off

Thanks for the heads-up. I think Bioware did a pretty damn good job on Alistair. I think it's confirmed that the original can't be beat. Earlier in December, I tried to redesign Alistair and could never beat the original. Probably went through about 27 versions. Yesterday and today...I went through about 17 versions.
I think the conclusion I've come across is that the original Alistair cannot be beaten.
Redesigning characters is very tough. Ha ha.
I think I will stick with my initial stance on my project and that is to leave Alistair intact.

@ LadyAly: I'm really digging your Warden, he really looks like the ultimate commander! The only thing that doesn't come off too well is the eyebrow-piercing, it looks sort of misplaced. At any rate, it's always refreshing to have more mature-looking wardens around... that's one of the great things about DA:A: there's no restriction as to what age your char should be (not that there was a real 'restriction' in DA:O; it's just that the origins (storywise) were meant for younger characters)
@Petehog: I'd have to agree with mochen, love him to death the way he is.^^ But, as I already said in a previous post, it's more of a personal thing of mine (wanting to keep the chars the way they are). ;-)
Its a complete Hairstyle mod - so no way to remove the eye piercing. But I think anyway it gives him that special touch I wanted to see on him.
@Petehog - it was interesting to see your work, though - I loved to see the progress and slight changes you made.

I used Lucidity's male
preset as a base and tinkered around with the toolset to add in
Dracomie's blue eyes. The hair is from raughnut's nero hair mod and the
hair color is from pineappletree.

Wow, that's... umm... quite the tangent there. No, actually experience has nothing to do with it.
Fair enough. Again, just stating my views and didn't mean to come off as I did.
Haha, not a problem. I thought I had stepped on a nerve or something
It's all preference really.
Anyway I figured I'd post up my redheaded street urchin here! I'm pretty happy with the way she turned out.

I'm going with version 1 simply because i love that color of tatoo and i think it makes her look unique, but thanks for everyones suggestions!
Also, when i uploaded her to the game she didnt look the same, im very disapointed now.. and every time i upload her she looks different, is there anyway to fix that?

Uh, guess I'm back again. Sorry for the overreaction Stippling...
My Loghain is working out well for me actually. Love how he can look worried in one shot and then evil in the next ;D Here's a new pic of him:

I have also made a Leliana that I think my bf has a crush on
I love Petehog's Leliana SO much, she's stunning. But I wanted something different now and the result can be seen a bit clearer in the album I dedicated to my NPC remakes. Here's a pic of her smirking tho ;D

She's just so lovely
Yeah.. okay, I like my own chars

Alistair's look isn't generated with the sliders. The game has separate and pre-made morph files for a few characters which arrange the face features independent from slider settings, and he's one of them.antUndead wrote...
Does anyone have the 360 sliders for Alistair?

I like your Alistair, looks younger and possibly more fit for his actual persona, but he just doesn't seem like Alistair without the Theirin trademark nose >.<

Ayways, as soon as I manage to get my human noble character's portrait, thingy, I'll put it up. He's not half as good as anything up on here, but he was made on the Xbox 360 version of the game, so when he comes up, please be gentle.

Ofc the normal posters, Mochen, VC, Yasuraka, Petehog i,e yet again you're making some stunning char's and bring home how great DA:O is when wanting to make your visions.
Oh thanks Stippling for puting one of my char's on his top 10 list, was honored.

Sigh. You're right.
Bioware just did a killer job on Alistair. They really got that personality down and it all fits together. There's certain designs from Bioware I would label as "untouchable". Changing their proportions or features in any way adversely affect the gameplay and/or immersion of Dragon Age.
They are the following:
1. Alistair
2. Queen Anora
3. Duncan
4. Father Cousland
5. Prince Bhelen
6. Lord Vaughan
7. Shianni
8. King Cailan
9. Herren and Wade (making them more realistic affects the humor aspect of Dragon Age)
10. Varathorn (to an extent)
11. Hespith
It has been a rather humbling experience because I usually try to make designs that improve upon the originals. But Bioware got me beat on this one.

@Noir201 Nice characters but I'll admit that as a guy, I'd probably be distracted if I were to play with that particular clothing mod
@VirusCat Loghain looks pretty good there and could easily pass for 50 now. Most people tend to like their own characters (or at least frustrate themselves by continually revamping their own characters like I do, heh) so no worries there.
@Petehog V20 is looking pretty good. I guess Alistair is just one of those characters that work best with his original eyes (I've had a heck of a time finding a good dark brown tint or texture).
@Axekix The Morrigan cut looks pretty good on your character (to me). Good job.
@sierra-357 I'll never be crazy about that particular hair style but it actually looks decent on your character. I'd almost be tempted to bump his lower lip (and maybe his chin) up just a bit but that's just one of my quirks.
EDIT: Heh, and it looks like I missed about an entire page so here goes.
@mochen There's just something about Selina's nose and/or mouth that throw me off a bit but I can't identify exactly what it is. I wish I could be more specific. Addendum: I think I know what it is, no offense intended but to me, the head morph would probably work pretty well for Soris' mousey bride-to-be (Valora?). Maybe it's just me but Selina has the "city elf next door" look.
@LadyAly With a name like Ahab and that particular look, I'd be tempted to slap a scar on him or at least an eyepatch, heh.
@Stippling That's a fun head morph to play with (Everus). Heck, I'd say slap on some more signs of decay/infestation on his forehead, just for good measure.

Now I'm sitting here pulling my hair since the game refuses to make Sten look like he does in the toolset, skincolorwise. His skincolor is brown ingame even if I put it on BLACK in the toolset *cries*
Lookie:

But maybe he's good anyway? Hrm. He looks much better in Frostback Mountains.. but that's like 5 mins of gametime

About your leliana, the only thing is i would make her hair red, Leliana without red hair just isnt her for me, but its your recreate so do what you want
I love that tatoo on sten, adds a lot i think, and i also think the skin color is just fine. Nice Work

Thanks for the kind words on Sten O: I love the tattoo except I wish it didn't go all the way up to the hairline. If it stopped at the end of the eye sockets I would be extremely happy ;P
The "beard"... hmm. I will see how it looks if I tone it down, but I really like how it looks now
Edit: This is just my first versions btw. I think I gave them both about 30 mins of tweaking and this is the results. I will definitely tweak them and change them around alot more in the coming days :3 Maybe I'll end up like Petehog O_O

But since I'm not really into her original color I kinda like it this way... if I ever release it to the public I will probably make a redheaded version with matching skintone
