LadyAly: my default answer to "who pissed her off that much" would be Alistair because I hate him. but that was that one random fight where there's a bereskarn and 3 blight wolves. *shrug* maybe every character has a pissed look after fighting darkspawn.

Well, I spent most of my free time yesterday and today working on Ren. (no freckles yet, I'm trying to get her face right first). One of the biggest problems I'm having is getting the skin complexion just right. In the character creator I used the 3rd one and it gave her a nice soft look. I find in comparing the two that she looks a bit older in the toolset version. Her nose is also giving me fits but I think I can live with it. Any and all advice appreciated.

@scampermax If I understand you correctly you're using the t1_skn_003 skin tint with the uh_hed_fema_0d base skin texture. I think you're problem largely stems from not using a blend texture since in the toolset you can use two skin textures at the same time and use sliders to blend them together. Going to section 01. Material and then adding a blend texture in 02. Skin Texture, to make her look younger I guess you could try using the child skin texture called uh_hed_kida_0d to soften the tone and texture of Ren's face. Honestly it's a personalized process so you'll have to see what each slider does and then scale it as you want it, but in general I'd recommend not going above 0.50 since you want a subtle effect not an overdone one.

As for you're nose problems the shapes in the character creator are found in 03. Feature Selection however they are not sliders in the character creator they are more like switches set to 0.50 prehaps looking through those and setting them to the value they'd be in the character creator might help you out.

I'm always quite late, but I'd like to thank you wonderful, creative people for the feedback on my previous post! I decided to call her Meiko. Her nose tip has been narrowed and pulled back, and her lips aren't so puckered now. Plus I did some other adjustments here and there. I still may need to do a few tweaks, but overall, I'd say it's an improvement, right?

@mochen, Bral is one serious looking dwarf, the kind that seriously looks like he wants to hurt you. Miranda is elegant and very beautiful, love the colours on her. Corinne is amazing, she's stunning tbh. I agree with AvatarHunter, she looks like Keira Knightly from V for Vendetta, after the haircut. Ebony is striking, very elegant and seductive looking. 

@yasuraka.hakkyou, Erilys is quite pretty, yet she has a stern look over her, I love her eyes. Nekhal looks dangerous, the shot of her is excellent, what with the blood and all.

@LadyAly, Franca Deboism loving the name and the character, she looks like she means business! She's got a sense of hard beauty about her, loving the soft golden hair with her harder features. Halim looks arrogant and like he'd just love to cleave your skull in two, makes me want to buy him a drink! Torcha is beautiful, very unique, and I love how you made that makeup work without looking tacky, well done.<3

@Zeleen, adoring the rendition of your granddaughter, you've done a good job capturing her from the looks of hit, she is very pretty! I think I prefer this version of Tempest, she is very beautiful. Lirrikal looks very kind, and has a softness about her, I like how you used that much pink without it looking to girly.

@AvatarHunter, hah, nice work on the real Zeleen there. Troy does look somewhat baby-faced, for some reason I find his nose utterly cute. I have to admit I giggled for a while at the David Gaider one, good work as always though. Aubrey looks like she'd fit right in going shoe shopping with Leliana at day, and hunting for prey at night, she's got the look of a clever rogue. Maori really does look like the more practical of the two, the more serious one. Ser Julien looks smug, noble and like he's got a minor obsession with his beard, he's awesome! Kilik is a package of pure hotness, seriously. Steffa is pure awesome, she does look like a female version of Sten, somewhat.

@Tyrax Lightning, oh my goodness, it would seem Annie Cousland has completely lost her head! *bad pun is bad* That's some freaky looking stuff, though, especially the hands. XD

@Nowshin, Amy outfits are fun! Nice Lolita look on those characters, they're fitting the outfits quite nicely.

@adneate, Leelah looks quite the fiery redhead, love her freckles!

For some reason I felt like making another summer elf, so I did.I've even named her Summer . Finally realized how I could use other tattoos in the character creation screen, guess I'm a bit slow like that. I'd have played her into a place with better light, but playing with one hand got a bit tedious, so Ostagar will have to do. Ah well.

And this is Lila, my  new human mage. Yes, I know, that hair again. But honestly, I could not find a hairstyle that suited her style better than this one, at least not to my eyes. I think I might make her my new main, actually. o.O

@Schratty - I was really inspired by your abomination, Perspehone, and I created a very similar character below.



@AvatarHunter - Ronan looks wicked! You don't see bearded elves very often, and he looks totally villainous.



@Mochen - Love, Corinne! The buzzcut looks is great on her. She looks so tough.



@LadyAly - I like Torcha's look, especially the dark dragon tattoo on the face.



@Neveri - I like your two newest characters! I especially like Lila. That tattoo is one of my favorites, and I think that hair works on her.



Here's a couple of my newest. Lately I have been playing around with the spread of corruption in my characters, either as a result of the darkspawn taint within or because of blood magic or the influence of demons. Thedas seems a very dangerous place in that respect.

LadyAly: Evil Eye Jack is a Character seen earlier in this Thread. I'm embarrassed to admit that I don't remember who's Character she is. She was designed as a bald gal with an awesome Dragon Tattoo & wicked Eyes.

Ares_padayn: That's called the Jaheira Hair. I think it's in either 'More Hairstyles', or the 'Tucked Hair' Mod. I forget which. Caution, the Tucked Hair Mod is on this Site somewhere, instead of the Nexus.

For your Character, consider widening the Nose Bridge, I can't see much more than that, though we could really use some close-up Screenies of his Face to gauge his Anatomy better. I'm not a tough bugger at Names, but 2 that come into mind when I see his Face are 'Roran' from the Eragon Books, & 'Varden', funnily enough also from the Eragon Books! (I wonder when the 4th one's coming out?)

AvatarHunter: Many thanks! Though, actually, Aldric isn't a Play Character, he's a 'for fun' Character. After Salona & Ghoulia's logs, Conan is my next Play Character.

scampermax: My apologies, I have no idea how to help ya with the Skin Texture. I don't know what the buggers i'm doing at them, myself. For her Nose, I have no idea if this'll work or not, (I have fierce trouble with Noses myself.) but it may be worth a try to widen the Nostrils a tad/little, then widen the Nose Tip a tad/little.

Oblivionator435: I can't help but to smile at the name, 'Meiko'. It gets me thinking of FF7. I can't see any room for improvement on her. She looks like the kinda person that would have a blunt, practical Personality.

Comic Ugly, for fun Character, for some serious Stress Relief. (Speaking of which, I hope you're feeling better yasa. You should consider maing Comic Uglies too!) My last 2 days sucked... 

In addition to ugly, I made him look sad on purpose. Who wouldn't be sad at lookin like this, & how people will treat you because of it... He only has 2 saving graces to him. 1: He's the absolute best Drink Mixer in Dust Town, & 2: He tends to not be big on talking due to his constant depression & sorry social life, so he tends to listen to people instead, when it's not about his looks. He can handle huge amounts of listening to other people's problems & sponge it all without his patience ever wavering, so people go to Moe's Tavern (No relation at all whatsoever to the Moe's Tavern of the Simpsons Cartoon.) to unwind on Moe's superb masterpiece drinks, & unload their problems onto Moe, something they can't do anywhere else. Funnily enough, despite how harsh Moe's life is, he still has some nice guy in him & he treats well anyone that'll treat him well in return.

@Neveri Thanks for all the comments and nice work with your elves. I really like Summer's tattoo and the yellow looks very good against her skin tone. As for Lila's hairstyle well we all have our more favored looks so if that fits best to you then I say just go with it. 

@Megalust That is a pretty awesome theme to work on, I really like the whole concept. The textures look good and that is an original look.

@Tyrax Oh ho ho so you actually did away with the tattoo, that is a pretty big alteration considering how adamant you were about keeping it. Now you have a clear view of her face although her expression looks like she feels awkward without it hah. Christ, look at the size of the snoze on Moe! His back story is pretty depressing but interesting to say the least.

I've been thinking about doing a small personal project on younger versions of some of the npcs for a while now and decided to finally have at it. I have done a handful of designs so far and I did them all in my view of how the npcs would have looked when they were as young as your pc is. Here are a few that I have so far.

The values on the eyebrows are a bit off. I believe you placed negative values on eyebrow down or something. If you change the values, it should fix the problem.

Interesting idea about the younger versions of NPCs.

I also had some younger versions of the NPCs as well. I actually didn't distribute them as they didn't quite fit the voice actor...They were younger renditions of Loghain, Flemeth and Duncan. I think some of these I posted a long time ago...

@Oblivionator435 Yes I can see the  improvement clearly - My suggestion:  Lower her eyes and brows, give the eyes a tad more squint, use the Cornea debug and see how it works.

Summer is a beautiful elfess - I dislike the outfit, ya know, but on her  and in this golden color it works very well.
She has this breeze of easy life around her :happy: 
Lila is stunning - and very Neveri-Design.
This hairstyle fits her really well - I can only think the Jaheira style could fit to her design, too

@megalust Not bad -even if Golgotha misses for me some harmony. The eyes and irises are too big and large for my taste.
The same problem I have with Abomina - far to biggie eyes  - but I like the bald version of her very much - she is kind of creepy  

@Tyrax Oha - Anri without Tattoo - she is a sweetie, but she looks a bit lost wihtout a tattoo. I would keep a light one on the forhead.

@neveri: Summer is so pretty :wub: I love her, and her tattoos look very nice. Not as nice as Lila though, that tat is earth-shatteringly badass. And there is something about Lila's face structure that entralls me:kissing:

@megalust, that's some freaky looking characters you've got there, and I mean that in a good way. I particularly like the tainted version of Golgotha, oddly enough I think she's pretty'ish like that.

@Tyrax Lightning, it would have been awesome to wrack havoc about with a child character, it really would. Lila does sort of look like a ''cloth-clothed Warrior Mage'', maybe I'll have her as my first arcane warrior. I'm probably one of the few people who will say this, but I personally prefer Anri with her tattoo's, she's lovely without as well, but I just like her better with them. Bartender Moe makes me want to give the poor sod a hug, if I could get past the nose. 

@AvatarHunter, I'm loving the younger versions of those npc's, particularly Duncan and Bann Teagan.  I think you captured Loghain quite well too, especially his eyes. I like how you made a shot of Arl Eamon with that shield, he looks good. It's been a while since I played the Dalish origin, but I can see the likeness of Keeper Marethari in your young version, very pretty and serious looking. 

@Schratty, seems I missed Alexander last night, silly me. >.< Isabella? totally lucky if he hit that. ;D I'm loving Alexander, the scars and all makes for a quite handsome pirate, yarr! I'd totally let that hit me, harh-harh.

@Oblivionator435, I quite like how she looks now, and I agree with Tyrax, she looks the part of someone with a blunt and practical personality. I think she's lovely.

@LadyAly, 'tis nothing too serious, just a small accident, some broken bones and other minor things, thanks for the concern though. <3 I'm not a fan of the Amy outfits either, although I do find them amusing. But I though it'd fit Summer, I can just imagine her frolic about a meadow without a care in the world. Somewhat tempted to make the 3 other seasons too, now. Themed characters seems to be a fun thing to do. 

@Nowshin, Rin is very pretty, and she does look somewhat stern, but I wouldn't say that's a bad thing. But I'm guessing that's not the look you're aiming for. Personally I'd do something about her cheeks, they look a tad poofy, but it might just be the screenshots being odd. The Ephemera twins looks amazing, I like that shot of them.

@Ladyaly: Torcha is so badass, love her looks and backstory, sincerely one of the best female designs I've ever seen.

@Szekeres2010: your mage looks good, the new skin and eyes suit him better.

@Scampermax: Ren looks very good, adorable yet strong.I think the eyes of the toolset version have more personality and I think the nose is nice too, there are some custom skintones like Petehog's and Bidelle's you might want to try regarding her complexion/makeup/lipstick.

@Oblivionator435: Meiko looks good, very realistic indeed, but I'm not big fan of the hairstyle, still she's great congrats.

@Neveri: Both Summer and Lila look stunning, the choice of colors and proportions are great and the tatoos are awesome, the lips looks a little bit homogenic though, maybe you might consider using some lipstick?

@Megalust: Golgotha and Abomina look good, nice choice of colour, and they seem kinds freaky in a good way lol

@Tyrax: Anri looks better without tatoos IMO, or maybe less quantity of them? she looks nice anyways and Moe is ace, I liked his backstory although it's a little bit sad.

@AvatarHunter&Pete: I like the young versions of the characters you both made, specially AH's teagan and Eamon and Pete's Loghain and Flemeth, awsome!

@Nowshin: I like Rin, she has an air of strength to her, reminds me a little bit to Carrie Anne Moss.

On other note, it's just me or everybody has some badass tatoos? are guys designing them or am i missing a few mods?

@Creid-X, I would use a more stronger lipstick shade if the ones in the character creation screen weren't so darn ugly. Unfortunately, I've yet to get the toolset to work, so yeah. As for tattoos, there are a few good tattoo packs on dragonagenexus, just search for ''tattoo'' and you should find them.

@ scampermax: Ren is so adorable! But yes, it looks like the mouth and the nose are the two trouble areas for the toolset version. I think adneate's advice will probably do the trick. Aside from being great at designing face morphs, he also is usually spot on with his suggestions

@ Neveri: I really like summer's strong, angular jawline. Yet, despite this typically masculine feature, you've still managed to make her look very feminine and beautiful. As for Lila, you're going to have that hairstyle's babies...aren't you? Haha, jk. I love the combination of her light blonde hair with her chocolate-y eyes. You've done a great job making her look both elegant and wild

@ megalust: I'm glad one of my morphs could serve as your inspiration Abomina looks great, btw! Do you have a "before" morph? If so, would you mind posting it? I have to say, though, I think Golgotha is my favorite morph or yours so far. She looks amazing in both screens!

@ Tyrax: I think getting rid of her tattoo was a good choice. She's so pretty and sweet and now I get to enjoy her wonderful features unobstructed P.S. Seeing Moe made me smile!

@ AvatarHunter: Holy flaming cow paddies! You've taken some of the baddest men from DA:O and served them up on a youthful platter! I have to agree with Nowshin - Duncan is amazing! Even though some of them (especially Teagan) look pretty baby-faced, they still seem like they could totally wreck shop. What a fun bunch of designs.

@ Nowshin: I like the adjustments you've made to Rin, however, in order to lessen the stern look, you might try making her lips a little plumper. Thinner lips can sometimes give off a stern vibe.

@Tyrax Lightning: We must've been on the same wavelength last night re: nostrils & nose tip. That's exactly what I did and it worked like a charm.

@Nowshin: thank you. My gf said the same thing about the new Ren being a good match, but I could probably go on tweaking her for the next week. I don't even want to think about how many hours I've spent making the "perfect" faces for Dragon Age and Mass Effect.

@Creid-X: Thanks. I think Ren is 95% there, so I'm going to leave her alone for now and get on with playing her game. If I do revisit her I will remember your advice on skintones.

@Schratty: Thanks so much for your comment on Ren.

Here's the "final" version of Ren, complete with freckles. I kept them subtle so I hope they show up in these screencaps.
