I made a version that looks alot like him but with my usual tweaks ;P I was using the Cailan original morph as base and NOT Alistair's. I don't feel that he needs to be that much alike Cailan tho, since they don't have the same mother and therefore he can have gotten alot of his features from her (and I know who I believe is his mother at least ;P).

Ohwell, as said, I still made my first version a touch-up of the original, so that he fits into my games like I want him to. Here's a camp-shot of the original and my remake.

@Tatter - The staff is from the below collection.  It's a good set, and you won't find much in the game that looks like any of them.

don't see why anyone would be angry at that morph (ie its a good one, compliment ), V.Cat. although, he seems a touch smoother in the cheekbone area, dunno if less pronounced works. JMO, as always.

Hmm, I actually both dragged the cheekbones to the sides AND forward from Cailan's morph Maybe a little more is needed to get rid of the tiny feeling of a babyface-ish feature. Hmm. Tweaktime!

@Mochen - Thanks! That took me three days of work, just sweating, rethinking and changing. I finally found a tat that looked arcane enough, and would play nice with one of the forehead jewels from another mod. All in all, I am happy with her.

Alistair looks good at this rate, and you're making new version of him? Oh well, it can't hurt to improve more.

@Wyldsong Owh I forgot to comment this one. Yup I enjoy looking at your mage Tsyndria. She had a different contrast of tattoo and hair color but yet she blends in her  character. Good one I say.

Here's the irony of Alistair.

If you make small tweaks, then people are like, "Dude, he just looks like Alistair with lighter skin."

If you make large tweaks, then people are like, "Whoa! That does NOT look like Alistair."

That being said, here is Version 21. I took the advice of about five people from Dragon Age Nexus.

lol...I just reread what I wrote.  Hopefully, you didn't take that as a stab at you.  There are a lot of good designs to comment and posts to reply to.  So no worries, but thanks.

As for the tat and red hair contrast...yeah, I can't say why, but it really appeals to me for some reason.  I tried other tats with the same color contrast, and it didn't work out so well, but for some reason, it seems to with that tat.

Well, I for one think that small tweaks, like the ones I did, can make a huge difference and for me he is now a much sweeter and better character. I found the original to be a bit bland and... ugh, I dunno. Old maybe? He just didn't fit into my vision of the characters. I will also try an over-the-top design to see how that works with the voice and setting.

Yours is pretty good too! I dunno about the last pic tho :S

I will keep this one as is for now. It's almost the same as I already posted but with minor tweaks to his cheeks and such. Some day this week i will create something completely different :3

@Petehog I can understand if you finally want Alistair as original design but I'm also happy you expose his image anyway. Although you might not think it'll turn out as the way you think, I admit he looks great, you had a talent to overturn the image of the most difficult npc despite the differences. But just not the way you want it to be I know. Well whatever it is you have my compliments. Keep up the good work...

@VirusCat As I said the npc was rarely redesigned by the community. So its enjoyable to see some tweaking of Alistair sometimes. Just my thought.

I didn't change the nose other than lower the whole nose a bit and also lowering the nostrils quite a bit. But I guess it shows in the fact that I DID lower the nose, since I usually do that eyes wasn't changed either except for a tiny nudge on the slider for eyeshape O: The mouth, chin and jaw was what I wanted to redesign, and I managed to fix what I personally can't stand with original Alistair ^^



I also managed to break my Morrigan at some point and I don't have a backup I guess I will just do small tweaks until I'm happy again ^^

I tested loads of tattoos, but eventually gave up on that idea; his skin complexion with the scars "fills up" the face in my opinion.

Eyepatch!?! That's a soddin' awesome idea, salroka! Perhaps I could model it as a part of the hairstyle (+earrings) and give it a texture of its own... Sounds like a bit of a challenge for a beginner like me, but perhaps..
Wish I had more spare time to learn this modeling business...




I think Bioware's Alistair is pretty much perfect, though I like to see different designs of him (and other NPCs) here.
