There's some great stuff being posted right now. I'm about to go to bed so I'll comment later.

Here's something I was messing around with. He likes sharp objects and pretty maidens. Not much of a talker though.

Jack

hrm..do you mean he like to apply sharp objects onto pretty maidens or apply pretty maidens onto sharp objects or just pretty maidens holding sharp objects.....? <_<:?;)

Taking a little break from game-playing...
LadyAly posted her earlier but this is Lady Zelenya Cousland by LadyAlyImage IPB.. puts a whole new spin on role-playing :) (awww if only we could turn back the clock)
Image IPB

seeing the Morrigan morphs inspired me .. she is not lore by any means but my interpretation of a "Whitch of the Wilds" I actually liked it well enough to make a character for her..

@Saerwen, she's a lovely lady with a slightly pissed off look about her, but I think there is something odd about her eyes as well, I'd suggest narrowing them a tiny bit, like LadyAly said. Oh and, I really like that tattoo on her. Morwen does look like a blood mage, she's very beautiful and that tattoo suits her, I like how it matches her eye colour. Also, the hug Tamlen mod is adorable!

@LadyAly, serious try or not, I still liked it. :) And I agree with you that Morrigan should have a more wild look about her, I actually quite like that mask'ish makeup on her. The only thing I'd pick at is her mouth looking somewhat sad compared to the rest of her. Also, love that you gave her darker skin, up until AvatarHunter made his Claudia Black morph I've been using a dark skinned Morrigan for ages.
Nice take on Zeleen, you gave a really lovely lady a very pretty design of herself, especially like her eyes.

@AvatarHunter, awesome bunch of ladies. Lucy is adorable, especially her eyes and ears, oddly enough. I like Saphren's strong face, and the red and black colouring fits her perfectly. I think Priscilla is my favourite among the lot, even though her names makes me think of ''Pricilla, Queen of the Desert''. I really like the way you add small ''flaws'' to your characters, going away from complete perfection.

@Nowshin, I like Scylla's backgroundstory, and she looks quite nice, give her a black and red dress and she'd really look like a black widow. Joe doesn't look all that fanatic, but she does have a determined look about her, and I really like her lips. I dig your take on Zevran. As much as I love him, the original looks horrid. Yours look handsome, as young as I imagine him. I'd use that morph, actually. The stalker Alistair picture made me giggle. ^^

@Starlight, randomly, the dwarves don't get forced into the Legion of the Dead, they choose it themselves to clear their names and other reasons. But besides that, Nic is a tough looking dwarf.

@Tyrax Lightning, hm, I see your point. Male hairstyles are somewhat lacking, sadly. I'd probably have suggested the dreadlock hair, as yeah, most of the other hair is very pretty boy'ish or just plain ugly. =/

@Schratty, the books have the benefit of being more portable than my computer is, makes for more comfort!
Theresia is goregous, I really like those eyes to her overall colouring. And her lips, very lovely lips. :3

@mochen, holy flaming flying bats, Jack is seriously awesome and totally scary, he almost makes darkspawn look cuddly. .___.

@Zeleen, 'tis fun to play yourself, isn't it? Although a tad creepy at times. I like your take on Morrigan as well, it's nice to see different versions of a character.

So, I finally got the toolset to work. I have no idea how, but it works now, sort of. I don't really have a clue about how to work with it, but I'll figure it out eventually.
So, here is my first toolset made character, Lanaia. An arrogant, somewhat ****y sort of assassin.

Lanaia.

Bit of news, all. I'm back up in my college town without my good PC, so you won't see designs from me regularly, only on random weekends and on holiday breaks. I'll try to post here and there, but just a heads up.

Nowshin: that's a good Zev morph imho. smoothed out his face and I imagine proportioned him just right. although that first shot of your Morrigan creeps me out for some reason. :? I dunno why...

LadyAly: I think your best talent is just that - the real-life player-based morphs :)

Schratty: Theresia is nice. but, the proportions look a bit out of whack to me :pinched:. the angled-shot from the side hides that though.

mochen: ...the Redcliffe tavern owner got a little tired of everyone calling him round, didn't he? XD that was my first impression of him.

Neveri: we have another toolset user? woot! I would recommend narrowing the eyes tho :)

@ Saerwen: I really like Morwen's color scheme (especially the hair!!). The gaunt cheeks are also a very nice touch :) Her chin does seem to be very prominent, if you want to try for a more "feminine" feel, you might consider narrowing and raising it a bit ;) And Tamlen + Hugs = Bittersweet :)

@ Zeleen: I'm glad to see Morrigan getting some more love from the thread :D I think the tan skin (as mentioned before to LadyAly) really suits someone living in the Wilds for most of their life. I also think the longer hair helps emphasize her "wildness" as well ;)

@ Neveri: Lanaia's small features really help portray a sense of arrogance. At the same time, however, they also make her look cute. Good stuff :D

@ Y.H.: Hmm...I'm not seeing it *shrug* I think you're busting my balls :P

@ badboy64: Your dwarf's skin looks so smooth! She's very pretty, however I would recommend using a different lip color. With her darker skin tone the lipstick looks a little out of place. I'd suggest something a little more muted and/or natural (a soft pink or red). Merely a suggestion though :)

@Schratty: Theresia looks very adorable! I agree with tyrax on the lips, but they suit her very well so I don't think you should have changed them even if you could. ;) She fits her description very well except for the shrewd part, but I guess that makes her more dangerous doesn't it?  personally I think, however, that humble and shrewd should not be used in the same line :P

@Starlight: I'd like to point out that most of your characters' screenshots are taken in places with odd lighting which does not complement their features, maybe move on to other places?

@AvatarHunter: lol I agree, I was spoilered about Zevran being a LI before I played the game, and when I saw Vanilla Zev all I could think was "WTF who would romance that..THING?" It is actually very easy making Aesthetic versions of him, since no one can mess up worse than Bioware, but keeping him true to the lore and making him good looking really is a challenge. *headdesk*

@Chairon de Celeste: Thank you! :D I love scylla a lot too.:wub:

@Zeleen: your new design reminds me of a panther....and Lady Zelenya Cousland is<3

@Neveri: If that Alistair pic made you laugh then look at my posts on page 159....lots of Stalker! Alistair there:wub::wub: And mog you have not been using toolset all this time?:o You are a genious then! And Lanaia looks very tough and somewhat arrogant.

@Saerwen: Morwen seems shrewd but beautiful, she and morrigan would be BFfs:devil: And yay for hugs! I think her eyes could be a bit more narrowed, though.

@Mochen: jack is scary:alien:

Thanks for the comments everyone. Schratty is right, Jack was my attempt at a comic book style character.
@ Starlight and Nowshin - haha, I'll let you decide that. Bear in mind he is covered in blood...

Ok allow me to comment on the last couple of pages.

@ Chairon de Celeste - Arthanos has an interesting face. It's very long and thin. Normally I would say the proportions aren't quite right... but I actually think his face works quite well! If he was your first character, thats a really good rendition.

@ AvatarHunter - 3 nice ladies there. Gotta say Priscilla is by miles my favorite one. I think the way you pushed her nose up really works and adds a great deal of personality to her. Good job!

@ Nowshin - Very cool designs! I'm not 100% convinced by the hairstyle on Joe though, but it is a really difficult style to pull off.
Morrigan's brow does look a touch on the high side...but that adds your own touch to her I think, so I'd keep it.
Zevran, you've made some good subtle tweaks to improve his design. I also prefer a slightly darker skin tone on him though, it made him look more exotic.

@ LadyAly - More perfect portraits from you! It's such a lovely way to compliment someone!

@ Schratty - Theresia is fine indeed! I actually really like her plump lips, they are sexy! She looks liek she has enjoyed the best things in life. Nice choice of colours as well.

@ Starlight - Out of all the designs, I think I like your dwarf the most. They are not easy to make look unique, but you've done a pretty good job there.

@ Saerwen - Thats a cool tat on Morwen, may I ask what it is? Love the hug screenshot as well. It made me smile!

@ Kenzekillah - She look good, but it's a little hard to make out her face in some of those shots. Perhaps we coulld have some more in different lighting?

@ Zeleen - Your witch of the wild design is interesting. The bright yellow eyes and purple eye shadow are quite a contrast. I like your choice of skin tone though .

@ Neveri - Lanaia looks lovely in that outfit. Great work for a first toolset morph as well! she looks young and adorable!

@ YH - hehe I see what you mean!

@ Badboy64 - I nice bronzed dwarfette there. I agree with Schratty about the lip colour though.

Thanks Mochen - you're right: it was one of the
vanilla 'cucumber' face presets :)

Jack also reminds me of hoe 'The Butcher' in Diablo 1
may have looked like in life, before he was turned
into iirc a demon

@ Neveri:
Laraia has that look on her face probably many wardens
have when Ohgren asks about joining the squad:

'Oh please - don't I already have enough armed loonies following me?' <3

She iloks like sorts of a
'whoever did it,.- I'm cute and  innocent' person
who always gets away with it => Morrigan
and the chasind caravan traveller from her tale.

My mages always side with Irving for quite a while
now - Jowan's denial about being a bloodmage
comes to hasty and nervously for my taste.
So when Gregoir plays his little 'the mages have
kicked 1 of my game figures off the board, now I
want to see the star pupil  kicked as a revenge'
game,
Irving just mocks him :D

@Chairon de Celeste B) You should post that accident one on the ugly threat *LMAO*
Yanneek looks really a bit like a rascal - *thumbs - well done*
(( but i have no idea why I have inspired you for this design?? *lol* ))

@Saerwen Morwen is elegant and sophisticated, and if I look at this hugging screenie with Tamlen not a evil sort of blood-mage ;)
Thanks very much for the comment on Morrigan and Zelenya.
The make up is difficult, indeed. If I make it lighter it looks really like a bruise and darker like Zorro's mask. I tried different colors - but that loosk weird, too.
@mochen *hides with a scream - totally shocked* :o :crying:
What a horror design -
Now you need to make a beautiful woman to compensate my shock ;) Holy crap - you are so gifted dear !
@Zeleen I'm very happy that you have fun to play her and she looks really good :wizard:
Your take on Morrigan is interesting - I like this design. The only thing I would do is lower her nose a tad - seems a little bit high.

@Neveri thx dear. As for the sad mouth = let me explain. She feels betrayed and throw out of her life in the wilds - so what else can she be then angry, annoyed and sad ? I know I wanted maybe too much - to let her look wild, sad and b.i.t.c.h.y. *lol*
Lanaia is exquisite - fragile, young and self confident - perfect work !!! <3

@Y.H. THX  will miss your designs, though:mellow:

@badboy64 Nice dwarf warrior you have here, but I can only agree with the others. The lipstick color looks wrong on her and took a lot of personality away.

@Nowshin Weeeeeeeeee - I love to see her IG - thanks for posting it. She is so pretty !:D

@Chairon: Okay, first to Persey: her face is beautiful, but I don't think the white hair really suits her... I think it's the combination with the dark brown eyes and the slightly darker eyebrows which make the hair seem more like a veil^^ Maybe if you tried toning down the eye colours it might look better ;)
Elaine looks like a very young (and also spoiled) Cousland girl.
Arthanos' eyes are really huge, and the high eyebrows give him a suprised expression. Maybe try giving him smaller, maybe a little more shrewd eyes, and lower the eyebrows, see how it works :)

@badboy: You could probably marry Alistair to a hookworm and he wouldn't notice^^ Of course you're entitled to play however you wish, I was just saying that for my personal playthroughs I prefer more or less realistic characters. I honestly think Victoria is a really cool design, and if you're happy with her that's all that matters ;)
The robe is either the Chasind or the Archon robe... it's a standard DA:O robe, at any rate.
As for your dwarf, well... I'll have to stick to what the others already said about the lipstick... ;)

@Panos: Thanks for your kind comments on Faye! I know the fringe is similar to Morrigan's hairstyle, but it's actually long hair from a mod by tmp7704 ;)
And I must say I actually prefer Eamon without his beard... All the guys in the game with these huge beards (like Irving) give me the creeps. There could be LIFE in there, you know?^^

@Tyrax: Garian's looking good! I'd only darken the eyebrows & beard a little if possible to better match the hair colour ;)

@KenzeKillah: Sxin has a very striking face shape, especially with that prominent nose - it suits her really well! The only thing that bothers me are the eyes... if you want to stick with light eyes, maybe try out others textures that don't look quite as 'plastic'; IMO they're in a stark contrast to the rest of the design :)

@mochen: Sarah is beautiful, and she sports that hairstyle really well! If the skin was a couple of tones darker she would have made a very cool gypsy-like beauty as well (not saying that the gothic touch doesn't suit her)^^
As for Keenan... no comment necessary :D
And Jack... geez, mochen, have you been watching too many horror movies?^^ I mean, this man is a walking nightmare! A character that generates such a feeling of uneasiness can be nothing BUT awesome!! *two thumbs up*

@Forlorn: Yes, at last someone who really digs kohl as much as I do! I've really missed your style, you know^^ The only thing I'd probably change is the eye height (lower), and I'd tinker with the eyebrows to make her look more angry and less sad (being 'demonic', you know^^) :)

@Nowshin: I must say I prefer the lore version. I find that in the aesthetic version of Morrigan the eyes seem a little too far apart - an effect that may be enhanced by the different eye shape. In the lore version she also looks more haughty, a trait that isn't conveyed quite as well in the aesthetics version ;)
As for your take on Zev, while you have the chance maybe try to tone his his tattoo a bit - that's one ingame thing that has annoyed me from the very start^^ I alos like that you made him look younger, but IMO he looks a bit TOO young now... It might be accomplished by tinkering with the skin texture, maybe also by thickening the eyebrows a little..? A cross between your version and the ingame version would be perfect, I think ;)

@Saerwen: I really dig that tattoo, it's perfect in combination with that hairstyle! The only thing I don't quite like about her is the eye area... Maybe reduce the eye size and eye space, and lower and darken the eyebrows, see how it works :)
As for Morwen, she has really interesting cheekbones, actually an overall interesting facial structure! Not beautiful in the classical sense, but definitely striking! Maybe heightening the chin a bit would give her more feminine features, other than that please don't change a thing! :)

@adneate: Anya is gorgeous, only the lips are a little too pink for my taste (but that's just me... otherwise she's perfect). As for Faye, I'd reduce the eye distance a tad... and maybe try going for no kohl around the eyes at all (was that really ME saying that?^^). Or maybe just take away the line on the lower lid and go for some eyeshadow instead? She has such a lovely pale complexion, with the red hair and the freckles and everything, that I think more toned-down eyes might suit her better :)

@awpdevil: Give her some smaller eyes! I know that one generally tends to make bigger eyes, but you'll notice that your characters start loking much better if you try to make them as realistic as possible ;) Apart from that, what YH said: rounder faces are more feminine, so you might try tinkering with the chin & jaw a little bit :)

@LadyAly: I must say that I really like your take on Morrigan, especially with that tattoo and the dark skin! It sets her apart from the other characters and makes her truly look more like a witch from the WILDS!^^ The only thing is that she has quite a worried look... maybe tinker with the eyebrow curve just a little? ;)
Btw, your take on Zelenya is absolutely gorgeous, such a great take on the photo! And she looks especially striking in that battle armor :)

@Schratty: Luc is awesome! He doesn't fit my taste in men AT ALL colour-wise (I'm really not into redheaded men with very light complexions), but that's just my very personal perference and has nothing to do with the really well executed design :)
Theresia... don't get me wrong, but she reminds me a lot of Anora (and it's NOT because of the hairstyle^^). It's more in the attitude she conveys - I guess it's the 'shrewd & methodical' part you were referring to^^ I think she looks great :)

@AvatarHunter: Again, so impressed how you've captured the characters here! :) Of the three, Lucy has to be the classic beauty. She's simply adorable! Saphren has quite a masculine touch to her (but maybe that was intended..?), mainly due to the rather square jaw. Not a classic beauty, but I can definitely see why men would fall for her. Priscilla is... unique. I wish I knew how you do it! Ah well... When Priscilla dies, she's going straight to Valhalla, you know :D

@Starlight: Nic is IT! He reminds me a lot of Leske in some respects, only that he looks better^^
Just a small hint: it's a bit difficult to get clear views of your characters because you show a lot of armor instead of focussing on the faces - it would be easier if we could get more close-ups as well as the other pics ;)

@Zeleen: You're so lucky... Zelenya truly is amazing :)
With Morrigan, I'd make the face a little smaller and more compact while keeping the overall slimness - I think it would go better with the long hair ;)

@Neveri: That's honestly your first toolset design? Wow... you've definitely caught the arrogant and don't-mess-with-me-but-I'm-still-cute-despite-everything-else-look really well! :)

Okay, please forgive me if I've forgotten anyone, but those were quite a few pages I went through right now^^

Arthanos will have to stay back in character bootcamp

Ok, so I added some lines on Zevran's face, tweaked this eyebrows somewhat, darkened his skin color a couple of notches (it is pt_skn_t05, the lighting is quite nice here so actually he looks fairer than he is) and lifted the corners of his mouth a little. I think the tweaks have added character, so thanks to people for their suggestions. :)

I am not sure about changing the tattoo color though....what do you guys think? Does it look better or worse?

Edit: Used pt_skn_d01instead of pt_skn_t05, but I don't like it much.

@ Nowshin: Zevran - I love the fact that in every screen of him he looks so damn cocky. It serves his character well :D I also like the change in tattoo color.

@ Caladhiel: Wow! Now THAT is a block of text! Regarding Luc, yeah, I don't dig redheaded men either :P Oh, and on Theresia, that's a good eye you have. I actually used Anora as a reference. I was trying to capture that "Queenlyness" she has about her design, but soften it up. Because, let's face it, Anora is a b--h... :D

Much obliged to all for the feedback on my ladies. Since I attempted to make them all look vastly different I was looking forward to mixed reviews which is what I got. I am also glad that many of you were picking up on the subtle flaws or personality enhancers as i like to think of them that were within their appearances.

@Nowshin The hairstyle you went with for Scylla was a good call I think, to me sometimes there is always just one particular hair choice that compliments your characters more than others and this would be an example of that. For Joe however you certainly went with a more challenging style to pull off, although I will say I like the pale skin and ginger hair look. You have also tweaked Zevran to the point of no return lol, very well done.

@Schratty Very classy noble you have constructed, the regal look is certainly an appearance that stands out a lot if you get it just right. I like her full cheeks and this may possibly be biased but I like the full lips, it just comes off as very feminine to me in most cases.

@Starlight One thing I would like to point out that shows up in all your designs as of late is something of a natural look which is what I like. I have never really seen you make attempts at gaudy or extreme looking characters and I can appreciate the more laid back and simplistic feel.

@Saerwen I like how you structured Morwen's face with regard to the amount of gaunt you used, it makes her cheekbones look more prominent. she also looks something like a keeper apprentice.

@Mochen Well you definitely got very creative with Jack there, I don't know why but Sin City came to mind when I stared at him for a minute. Interesting design.

@Neveri Alright, first of all . . . you haven't been using toolset this entire time?! That in itself really baffles me. Lanaia does have a snobby air about her and I think her nose pushes that look a lot. she also has a hardened look, a product of her enviornment i would say.

@Zeleen Taking yourself out for a spin around Fereldon I see, fun stuff :) The tan skin and dark hair really make the yellow eyes on your witch of the wilds pop, a good example of the results of a good color combination.

@Badboy might be me but i noticed you are sort of fond of that bleach blonde hair. That hair color with the tan skin creates something of a californian surfer appearance which always stands out to me. It also stands out because I haven't really seen those color choices for a dwarf which is different.

@Caladhiel  Yes I did want a slight bit of a masculine look for saphren with the strong rectangular face shape, she is assertive so I wanted to enforce the feeling more with a strong face shape.

Here is a couple of characters I designed influenced by the main quests in the game. It is sort of characters who would have been taking part or involved in some way with those events in the quests, for example these two are based off of the Urn of Sacred Ashes quest.

Ser Stamos
- A knight of Redcliffe Castle. A calm and confident individual who is militant minded and strongly believes in the policy of being firm but fair. His weapon of choice is his beloved greatsword passed down to him by his father who also served as a Redcliffe knight. Aside from his grizzled appearance he harbors a good sense of humor and sometimes displays his wit during dangerous situations.

- Childhood friend of Stamos and a templar stationed at the chantry in Redcliffe. A loyal and reliable man with a tendency to always stick his neck out for the mistreated and underappreciated. Because of this he often checks up on Bella's well being and hackles Llyod whenever he feels it is neccessary. Of course it is no secret to anyone that he is quite taken by Bella which explains his behavior. He also chose to travel with Stamos once he caught word that all of the knights were being ordered by Isolde to search for the Urn of Sacred Ashes.

@AvatarHunter I do like your trio of female characters, interesting touch trying to incorporate minor flaws into the characters. I think you did a pretty good job making them blend in and not stick out like a sore thumb. As for your two Knights Stamos is good but I'm not so sure about Creighton his features are really strange and a bit unatural. I know you like to mix things up but Creighton feels like he might have been a bridge too far so to speak.

@Schratty Theresia is quite nice, I love that hairstyle though! Bangs was what is desperetly needed and now that it has them I love to use it on nobles, though I think Anya wears it the best. As for the lips, I'm a fan of full lips personally, but I do feel the pain of having to puff the lips up to get them to seal even somewhat properly. It seems human females are the ones eternally plagued with lip issues. Only gripe I can think of is just a slight narrowing of the jawline I can see a noticeable lump in it, not a major problem by any means but something to think about at the very least.

@Saerwen Morwen is a good start, but I have a few suggestions for her. First would be to bring the chin up and inwards it's maybe just a bit too big and juts out a bit too much. Then I'd bring the brows down more so they rest just a little bit above the eyes and the last thing would by to put the cheekbones just under the eyes and give a little more width to the cheeks take away the slightly gaunt look.

@Mochen I Like Jack! Glad to see the chubby looking dude you PMed me about a while ago!

I'm currently pulling my hair out over Faye Tabris, I was expecting to have a revised version of her ready but I don't know anymore it feels like I might need to do a substantial rework of her to get it right. In the mean time I made another male design so here's that instead.

Edit: Anyway I think I have the improved Faye now.

@Nowshin, gotta love stalker Alistair. I've not been using the toolset up until now, no. For some reason I find the half naked Jowan somewhat disturbing. I mean.. it's Jowan. o.o Are you planning on releasing your Zevran? 'cause I'd totally use that.

@LadyAly, I see your point. Personally I never imagined Morrigan to be able to get sad, although I guess even she has feelings, deep down somewhere. <.<

@Caladhiel, that was honestly my first toolset design, ever. Thank you for the compliments. :)

@badboy64, your dwarf looks lovely, the new lip colour fits her much better.

@AvatarHunter, no toolset for me until now, no. I'm sure I've complained about not getting it to work a few times, but I shall take it as a compliment that people thought I was using it.
Ser Stamos kind of reminds me of Loghain, without looking like a paranoid raccoon. I really like his skin, it adds to his character quite nicely.
As for Creighton, I'm going to take a wild guess and say you based him off Daniel Craig, who has some odd facial features as well.

@adneate, your nameless warrior man has a good, strong look about him. Although, I think his nose bridge might be a tad to thin, at least compared to the rest of his rather impressive nose. Faye is beautiful, nice colours and the light makeup fits her nicely.

I intended to make a more living-in-the-Wilds looking Morrigan, but she sort of morphed herself into another Chasind lady, ups. :P
Fahari is a bit more nonchelant than the other's, adept at magic with a preference to fire spells.

Fahari.
