Okay. Per Starlight's suggestion/request, outdoor lighting for the City Elf. Sorry about that. I wasn't even thinking about the dim lighting inside the starting building.







I think those were the best of the bunch. I'll start working on revising the HNF.

Garian's final Hair Color ended up being Pineappletrees's red3. I'm amazed at how different it looks between the Toolset & the Game. Ya'all keep telling me how normal this is, but it can still catch me off guard.

badboy64: I don't understand why the blond Eyebrows woulda been a problem, but i'm still a Toolset Novice trying to climb up to Padawan. (I wonder if even after Padawan, if i could stand a chance at attempting Gear & Hairstyles & such even then...? We need more Axes & GreatAxes!) Having Blond Hair & Brown Eyebrows at the same time seems kinda off, but I suck at Fashion, so I would give the right of way in advice to my fellow Forumites over myself.

Chairon de Celeste: Mythalle's dual blades look wicked! Her off-hand blade could use some glowieness too! The Ogre's Perspective looks cool! It makes it no wonder why the Ogres don't see their demise coming!

Shades looks like a kind, sweet person! Though she may be looking at a fellow Dalish. I bet she won't look like that while lookin right in the Eyes of a filthy, stinkin shemlen!

Richard's lower Lip needs de-poofed BAD, & I think his Eyes could use a generous dose of Eye Squint. That's about it.

Starlight: Scorn...? How the buggers did I do that...? I was going for strong, brave, skilled, & especially badass! How the buggers did scorn happen...?

Bitterfoam: Your HNF's Nose Bridge, Nostrils, & Nose Tip all need to be widened, & also possibly raise the Nose Height a tad. The Overbite might be too strong as well, consider toning it down. Lastly, it may be worth a try to move the Mouth back a little... oh wait, does the CC allow Mouth Front/Back movement? I forget off the top of my head. Is this a good sign of my developing Toolset powers?

I agree with the others, your CEF is too ill lit to Anatomy Gauge. That looks like the Starter House of the City Elf Origin. Move her to in front of the Fireplace & place the Camera between the Fireplace & the Character, like this:

Except perhaps closer to the Fireplace for a better Face view, then we should be able to see her better & get an Anatomy Gauge.

Calin Pandurescu: I think either his Brow, or his Forehead, or both, is too far forward & needs to go back more. That's about it.

adneate: I was wondering about your guy's Nose Bridge, but I honestly don't know if it's impossible for guys to have skinny Nose Bridges or not. My real life Nose Bridge feels skinny to me... I also don't know if ya'all will get annoyed at me if I suggest wide Nose Bridges for every guy I see with a narrow Nose bridge.

I still think Faye looks ready to go.

@Mochen~Esau reminds me of Nathaniel, pensive, quiet, gravely voice. Wow... can I have him? I actually like that hair on him too, my dalish blood mage can totally overlook that he is a shem. I really like Pinkish Bubbles makeup, Is that bidelle's? i am sure that Alistair will be distracted by her ehem outfit...

@Bitterfoam~Your noble is pretty, her nose looks a squee to low, but her eyes look ok, I have noticed that the CC LIES!!! But your characters are a good start. And if you like that hair, don't change it! Ok for your city elf, thanks for the outside shot, she is pretty. 

@Calin Pandurescu~Nice profile, am thinking now that I see the front shot that perhaps he has a bit too much overbite, and the chin is a little long. He also looks tired, but you may be going for that look, so that is cool. Maybe fuss around with his mouth a bit and see if that improves his looks some. Otherwise he is a good start.

@LadyAly~I like this version of Cisseia, the hairstyle suits her. I missed commenting on her when she was first posted, but I think she is a vision now. I really, really like your version of Morrigan. It looks like you changed up her jaw line, perhaps defining it more? And fussed with that tattoo some. I don't know if you would be willing, but I would love to have her in my game as my Morri! Would be nice to have an actual chasind looking Morrigan for once.

@adneate~ Do you have a blood spatter mod in affect? He doesn't have gore all over his face! If so what is it? He looks tough. I think his nose is a little on the wide side. I like his coloring, and his hairstyle. Faye looks more mature.

@Starlight~ He looks so babyfaced! I am no good at dwarves! Richard is a winner, I don’t normally like the beards on humans for some reason unless they are older men, but he pulls it off. Scary looking dude!

@Chairon de Celeste~ Shades freckles are really nice, her eyeliner is a little much though considering that the rest of her makeup is so natural. You must really adore the redheads!

@AvatarHunter~ Capt. Dunmore, looks like a wise old man, who probably saw more than he would like to recall. Lady Margo looks like a shrewd woman, who in her day was probably quite beautiful. Nicely done AvatarHunter.

@Zeleen~  On Mortisha Cousland, she is defiantly exotic, I like the changes you made, and I can’t see anything I would change either! Ah Elves! #1 The tattoo goes nicely with the green motif you have going there, she also has nice proportions to her face. #2 Harder to see her face, so I will comment on the colors, like the color scheme, esp. with the tattoo and the hair, will have to check that out in game. #3 Like her face proportions the best, but her eyes are a bit dark, but I think it is probably the game, not nec. Makeup. The tattoo and hair color combo is interesting too. Thanks for bringing that info to the forum!

@badboy64 ~I have to agree on the eyebrows, darker would be better, they would make her really frame her eyes. And I love the tanned dwarf, with light hair! Hey she has been on the surface gathering allies, girlfriend gotta tan! She is really beautiful, nice work!
@Tyrax Lightning ~ Garian Aeducan…WELCOME! He looks demonic, with all of that red, especially in Orzammar lighting. I just worry that it might be overwhelming, but I think you know what you are doing, so I leave you to it! The toolset rocks doesn’t it! He will be a formidable darkspawn slayer! You will have to post up some picks when he is in action.

@ Nowshin~ Sun-Noshin is nicely done. But my eyes are burned by the sight of Jowan dressed in a man skirt… how…ew…gross. Mochen’s big scary Jack might think he is a pretty maiden and disembowel him… oops!

@ Neveri ~I can’t believe you haven’t been using the toolset the whole time! Wow you are good. Lanaia, I think that her ears seem a bit large; I just caught that in the side shot, and also a bit low. But other than that, she looks great.

Okay. I introduce TestFv2, AKA the first revision. As was suggested, I raised all features, then dropped the chin and increased the jaw size (this was Starlight's suggestion). Then she kind of looked manly, and that was just bad, so I dropped the jaw size back a little. Also lowered the size of the features and played with some eye spacing.

And now that I've learned to not be a big noob, I'm using Paint to limit size. Everyone hurrah for me, yes?











I also did up another HNF with different looks, for contrast/comparison. Different hair, tried to use what I've learned on a new model.

@Bitterfoam~I like the first one best. The second one, the first screenie, is not flattering, but the others are better... maybe just not good angle. I like both of their profiles, just little tweaks to bring them into better symetry. Try playing around with raising eyebrows to frame eyes. But my fav is the first. But everybody will have an opinion, which is your favorite?

Morwen, Dalish blood mage, but she isn't evil!!! Attempt number 2. Tweaked her eyes, chin, cheeks. May go back and mess with the eyes, not sure about them now that she is in game... but please letme know what you think.

I did tweak the eyebrows to frame the eyes. Apparently I just did not do it well! Ha!



I have no symmetry capabilities.



I wanted to like the second, but as you said, the first shot is awful. It's too slopey, and I went with making her face rounder than I wanted to, without making her a block-jaw. Or maybe I didn't.



I don't know what to do with cheeks or cheekbones, for that matter, either.

@LadyAly, Cisseia is awesome, I love dryads! And the hair you ended up with, love it. She actually manages to look good in that armour too, I approve. Your Morrigan is looking good, I really like that face tattoo mask on her.

@mochen, thank you. Esau is seriously badass and handsome looking, I think he might be one of the best looking male morph's I've ever seen.He kind of reminds me of DA2 Hawke, which I highly approve of. Your little makeover of Pinkish Bubbles is very cool, she could be her evil twin sister, Devilish Bubbles.

@Tyrax Lightning, nice to see you finally got Garian done, all the red is working good for him!

@Zeleen, I like the tweaks you did to Mortisha, she has a cool cat like feel about her, very nice!

@Chairon de Celeste, cool shots of Mythalle, she's looking awesome as ever. Shades is a cute little redhead, full of deadlyness.

- Richard looks neat, although I agree with the other comments about him. A bit of tweaking and he could be even better looking.

@AvatarHunter, I'm loving Capt. Dunmore and his wife, not only do they look awesome but they made me giggle.
- Capt. Dunmore looks like the kind that'll go around ''hrmph'ing'' in his mustache, and Lady Margo has a look about her that says that she is in fact, not amused.

@Starlight, Arin is actually quite cute, he's got an innocent air about him, kind of reminds me of a slightly more intelligent Sandal.

@Bitterfoam, your human noble is pretty, I know the in game creator can be a **** at times, but it's fully possible to make great looking characters with it. I like the first version of her best, although I find the red hair and red eyemakeup a bit too much, but that's more of a personal preference. You might want to make her jaw a tiny bit broader. Your city elf looks nice, at least from what I can see in those screenshots.

@Saerwen, I really dig the shape of Morwen's eyes. She looks odd in the second screenshot, I'd try either lowering her cheekbones a bit, or making them less gaunt.

I wanted to give my newest character a bit more natural look, strong yet somewhat femenine. So here is Elizabeth Cousland, a practical sort of noble lady, although with a touch of vanity.

@ Neveri: Crap! Ninja'd! Elizabeth's short hair gives her an air of "tomboyishness", but her soft skin and delicate features drive home the vanity aspect of her character. The blush/lipstick combo are exquisitely done

Your HNF is lookin better, I think version 1 & 2 are about the same in power. It looks like ya missed my advice on her Nose in the Post above, or did ya decide it unworthy?

Saerwen: Many thanks! & yes, his Redness is intended to be so intense on purpose. I'm a sucker for the Red Hair - Red Eyes combo, his Red Tattoo at full intensity represents his Warrior Spirit, & he looks (as I see him) like a strong, brave badass that doesn't put up with evil's stupid flak! I also managed to put some meaning into his Portrait Pic, a firey red spirit tempered & controlled by a calm, cool (blue) discipline.  At least, I hope that works! He's brave, but he doesn't try to be a dummy either. I like that Loading Screen Message from the game that was something like, 'Flank your enemies when opportunity presents itself. History will never remember the bold, brazen frontal assault that failed miserably.' or something like that. I wish I could remember the exact wording. It might make a cool Sig!

Morwen looks great! I think the last thing left for her is that her Eyes look over-squinted. I'm not sure how much Eye Squint to remove though to get her right...

Been playing and Quinton just did not look like the "younger brother"

so I took about 10 years off his looks and did more tweaking with him.. (I learned my lesson I still have the before mrh)

I think you've come up with some unigue creations from the CC..  the little redhead is very engaging - when you make the changes try to keep her personality..  your elf is a dark beauty  her nose my be a bit too long and her jar may be a little too high.  The main question is do you have a look you're trying for?

@LadyAly:  Cisseia.. such a beauty.. the changes add a lot to her character.. the tats much nices now in the "softer" colors and I like the color of her hair much better. (also the hairstyle rocks)
on Morrigan. I like both versions..  which one do YOU like?

@Calin Pandurescu:  on your character..  his nose bridge seems to be in a bit too far..  but maybe that's what you wanted..  and you may want to widen the chin. and maybe bring the brow in a little as well

Alrighty. Revision #2, AKA TestFv3. We have the money. We can make her faster, stronger... yeah, I'm going to hope someone might get the joke.



I spent about an hour playing with the cheeks and jaw and chin. I don't think I shrank any sizes this time, but I also didn't make her face too small. Just played a back-and-forth game of comfort. I still think she looks a little off on the side views, but I eliminated pretty much every weird pit that was cropping up due to this or that with the cheekbones. Played with some different color aesthetics: she'll remain a redhead, but Nevari raised a point that there was too much red. Gave the eyes just some black eyeliner and a touch of color to the lips. It's mostly me still playing with and figuring out which of the skin complexions I like, but it had the added benefit of looking not-too-bad. At least, I think it looks decent. My "tastes" are clearly flawed, however, given that I thought misshapen lumps of character faces were okay.

So here's what I think will be the last version of Gareth, he's come a long way since the beginning but I think I've mostly been able to achieve the look I was aiming for (an Ian Somerhalder/Cillian Murphy/Tom Welling kind of look)

Zeleen: I agree with Bitterfoam, the new Quinton looks younger, but removing the Moustache will enhance the youth even more. Moustaches look more mature & thus cause a person to look older. Consider saving the prior older looking Quinton for Awakenings to use as your 'few years older' Quinton for it.

Is it normal for Skin Textures to only apply to the Face, Neck, & Ears, & ignore the top & upper back of the Head, & the body? It seems more like Face paint than a Skin Texture.

I got a 'newsfeed' thing from mochen BioWare Email, but I don't understand what it's talking about. What 'newsfeed'? & it didn't give me a Link to go to to check it out.

But nosir, they are not at maximum down. Everything cheekbone related is smack dab in the middle, according to the sliders.

@ Tyrax: Yup, skin textures actually only affect the face and neck :/ I got a laugh out of Agatha, though I actually kind of like the pink/purple color scheme for some reason...hmm..

@ Zeleen: You may be surprised to hear this, but I actually think I prefer older Quinton. Purely personal preference, though, I like my men to have some wrinkles ;P


Well, before I go comatose, two additional items:

I decided to jump on the remake-a-npc bandwagon. This won't make it's way to the Nexus; it is purely for my own personal use. I was trying to mix some elements of the Lore version with aesthetic flare. I prefer the vanilla skin tone, so I kept that, but made Zevran's hair a little darker to compensate.

In case you've been wondering how Elven Alistair "Elfstair" has been doing, which I'm sure nobody has, here he is. And yes, he loves him some cheese.
