Lynn01: Thanks for the kind words about my creation. Have you tried a different eye shape for yours? Someone mentioned she's glaring, I think it was. That eye shape is the culprit - it does the same for male characters and was one of my mistakes with my first HNM attempt. The eyes look like they're bulging out of the head. But otherwise, I think she looks good. I like the hair color, and I like the tattoo. And the mage. Nifty choice of skin complexion for eye shadow there.

(I don't mean to sound insulting about the eye shape. I think I remember someone writing that. Or maybe it was several pages back and you've already changed them and I'm suffering from trying to weed through too many pages? If so, disregard. Only the insane prattlings of an evil mage.)

Here's a revision for my second HNM concept.















I wanted to make some changes, but retain the youthful/inexperienced look I've been going for. Made some minor changes to the eyes, nose, mouth, and some more-than-minor changes to the jaw/chin structure.



Starlight commented that the chin looked like it was going to "pop off." Fergus and Bryce to have relatively wide chins, however, so I wanted to keep with that look as best I could without making it look wrong. I brought the width in a little, but pulled the depth back all the way - which I think alleviated some of the "popping off" problem, or at least I thought it did inside the character creator. The forward chin depth, minor as it was, was really making the chin jut out quite a bit.

 @Lynn01 Sometimes the light in some regions let look colors pretty weird. She looks much better 
Shenna looks very nice with the new hairstyle.

@Nowshin mmh - it looks weird if you give  only the tip of the nose 0.2 points to raise  ? Anyway I'm really curious how she is coming out - cause I like what you have done so far very much  

@Grundy Tetriana looks like a good design - but can we have  bigger shots from her face ? plz

@Schratty  Leoric is epic and badass cool. Have you tried this hair color dear ? pt_har_bn4 ?
its a normal pale blond. 

@Tyrax about the whit lines - here an advice I copied once
***There's a way to fix that. Open up your character's .mor in the toolset, click on tints, look down towards the bottom and you should notice under the value column something strange like: pt_stbhar_re4 (or something similiar). Rename this to the proper hair color (ex: if you're using PT's red #4, rename this value "pt_har_re4")***

 christ, the pages stack up here quickly... I'm gone for like a day and there are like 3-4 new pages added to the thread! 

Anyway, I'm glad Mochen has returned and is feeling better... I must be honest... I'm not entirely sure who you are, but I am glad none the less. The thread has shown to include nothing but brilliant people so far and I don't think anyone deserves to feel unhappy over their creative work and the comments posted about them. Anyway, welcome back and I hope you'll put your work up again, because sadly I got into the thread quite late and haven't seen any of your work and I would love to see it.

Now... about some of the characters that have been posted recently...

@Saerwen: I *love* Liza... sure she's a bit scarred and rugged... but you still somehow managed to make her look beautiful. I have tried to add similar scars to a female warden of mine, but she always just ended up looking like a lesbian train wreck... either far too butch or looking like a victim of some horrible abuse... and I'm not really into that... but you managed to pull it off amazingly well! The one thing that I find kind of odd though but strangely appealing is her eyes... I can't quite put my finger on it... they seem like they are quite far apart and big... but they still add quite a bit of character to her. I'm not sure if this will make any sense, but it kind of makes her look a bit younger than she seems to be.

@Bitterfoam: Your young Cousland is coming along great! It is a lot closer to your original design of him, which I like. He seems a lot more natural this time around. The only thing that bothers me a bit is the the width of his nose bridge compared to the width of the nose tip. Have you tried either widening the bridge a bit or narrowing the tip? Of course... it is your design and that is what you might be going for, but I think just the tiniest bit of adjustment to his nose would do wonders for the design. Just my two cents. 

@Zeleen: Ok, in my personal opinion... you did a way better job on your human. She looks great! And I think you accomplished what you were going for with the strong but feminine features. She has a bit of a "amazon warrior" look about her. She actually reminds me a little bit of some actress I think... but I can't seem to figure out who... I'll post it if it comes to me.

P.S. Where'd you get the super neat eyebrows?

@Chairon: ....your character actually looks a bit like my sister... it's weirding me out... but it's awesome at the same time. hahaha.

@Gimme H: Haha, damn... that mage looks like he could throw a mean right hook! He certainly does look like he could do some evil... but from his facial expression I get the feeling it would not be in that mindless "roar! hulk smash" kind of way, but more subtle... like he *knows* he could turn you into nothing more than a smear on the floor with but a wave of his hand, but would like to break you down a bit first... make you feel utterly hopeless, quivering before him, just before he snaps his fingers and turns you into a human torch (the "arrrgh, pain" kind, not the "fantastic 4 kind")... I don't know... I don't see a lot of explosive rage in him, though I'm sure he's capable of it, but more just pure malice. I don't know if that's what you were going for, but that's what I see anyway... hope I hit close to home. hehe. 

Oh, and I have a character of my own that I wanted to share with you guys!
I finally got my dalish archer to look like I want her to. What I was going for was a kind of "child at heart" type of character. She's kind of cocky and sure of her ability as an archer. So much so, that she claims to be the best! 
I also imagined her as very at home in the forest and as a very stealthy character (hence the face paint). I wanted to try to make a character that seemed like she was a designated scout in her village, since you start off the Dalish origin in what seems to be like a scouting or perimeter check mission.
Anyway, here's Nadiel! Tell me what you think!

@Ibaru88 Nadiel is adorable. I think though this tattoo doesn't match her beauty. It covers to much from her delicate features - which is pretty sad in my eyes. Maybe using a lore Tattoo or one of the many others around - this is for my taste to rough-textured.

@LadyAly: Hmmm, yeah, you might have a point there... though I didn't think of it much as a tattoo, but more of a sort of medieval "recon paint" since most of her life has been spent scouting the woods around her camp. But I might also be taking a bit away from the entire story behind the character by using it, since I'm now trying to come up with a reason why she would continue to wear it after she has left the Dalish to join the Gray Wardens?... I'll mess around a bit with the design and try some new things and see what happens. If it turns out to be something I really like, I'll post some more screens.

Hmm... interesting. I would have thought the chantry to be his natural enemy since he is a mage that covets power and the chantry has a very tight leash on the mages and kind of limits the use of this power.
Though you can certainly respect your enemy and aspire to wield the power they possess in a different and most likely more sinister way.
And correct me if I'm wrong here... and there is a decent chance that I am... but doesn't the chantry preach "goodness" and stuff like that? (there is so a better way to word that sentence, but I'm tired...)
Does he have his own twisted view of the chantry and the story of Andraste? I can see how he could have kind of a twisted sense of justice and that the slightest slip in moral judgement is punishable by death.
Woah, sorry, I'm getting way ahead of myself here, haha. It's your character of course and an interesting one at that. I would love to hear more about the character and maybe the answers to the my odd little questions above.
Again, good work on the character. I hope to see more from you soon.

whatever the chantry preaches, don't all organizations that encourage devoutness and absolute faith have ulterior motives? Isn't that the best cover imaginable? followers who do not question?
at least that's the way he sees it,
he's cynical about legends too, maybe andraste did what they say she did, maybe not, what difference does it make? the chantry is a player, and it pays to work with them,

Interesting thoughts - I picture him simple as the calculating one. Knew your enemy, use his power. He reminds me of this old english Dynastys ( like the Tudors ) Using all  for one goal, no matter the coast.

here is a great compliment to BioWare and the meshers & texturers of
the community - sorry though if I spooked you.

Aryth Tabris - actually it would've been a pity to delete her so I developed
m,y Chiharu (elves thread) further - same base winter elf preset like Blaze;
I just kept the pointy chin and puffy lips among other features and went for
other eyebrows.
Base idea: some of the dalish nobles whose bloodlines go back the days of
Arlathan felt responsible for their subcts who where abducted into slavery
after the fall of the dales - sio they followed them into the human cities.
Adaia Mahariel's (Aryth mother) ancestors were among them.

I have the slider for the bridge width just a little down from where I have the slider for the tip width. My nose, at least, is a little narrower in the bridge than at the tip and with the nostrils. But when I get back in there with him I'll give widening it a look.

uhm... yeah... I think you may have been pretty much totally right about that tattoo, haha! Thanks for the tip. 





There's something bugging me about her mouth though, since I removed the tattoo... I'm not sure what it is... I think it's the upper lip...
It was there when I had the face paint, just didn't notice it until I removed it.... weird...
