so I'm curious; users of the freckles mod:

Since I don't use the CC anymore, could I download the freckles mod and not worry about the tattoo override? I'm rather fond of them tattoos.

@ Y.H.: Just rename the freckle tattoo you want something like : uh_tat_freckles_0t and dump it in your override folder :)

Tell me more please- I believe I'd tried anything withot a result for the
ingame and prerelease character creator

Or do you mean the toolset approach - then yes @ op, that would be
non-replacing.

I havent yet figured out how to place them in the override
tree for the character creators without overriding the
standard tattoos and others by the standard file name
- trouble is that renaming and appending them in
chargenmorph.xml doesn't work - they are applied by
the character's origin, not just by the race.
Worst thing the mod makes it impossible to give
dwarven commoners a proper tattoo - only freckles,
warpaints and a somewhat blotchy tattoo are available.

I haven't heard of any dev adrressing that issue with the
chargenmorph.xml successfully yet, community or BioWare.

@ Chairon de Celeste: Yes, I was referring to the toolset method ;)

@ Nowshin: I think the version on the right looks better. I muc prefer the thinner upper lip and the nose, however, I do think that the eyebrows on the left side version are stellar :)

@ AvatarHunter: I like your take on the Furions. Tayln's face shape and wrinkles are both wonderfully done. You seem to be able to magically make completely unique features for each of your characters. Simply amazing :D

@ badboy64: Thanks! I quite like your version of Wynne - she's very pretty. Oh, and your pc is incredibly hot; the floppy black hair + heavy stuble = awesome!

@ mochen: I agree with AvatarHunter regarding the stone theme. Your screenshots do always look like well-composed paintings and I think that really adds to your already wonderfully crafted morphs.

@Mochen You know what I really like about this design? The extent of how much you pushed the stone theme. Considering the fact that "stone" is such a prominent element in the lore of dwarfs the armor choice you made was very relevant to the main theme as well as a fresh addition to the thread since I personally have never seen anyone make use of it in such a way. I also want to point out that your location choice and placement was key in the overall look since there are different shades of rock there so in juxtaposition it looks like a collage of stone, how artsy of you lol. I bet instead of a mouse and a monitor you have a beret, a paintbrush and a canvas at home :)

@Chairon de Celeste Oh well I stand corrected then, sounds like the look of your style has been worked and tweaked for a bit then transitioning from Oblivion. First thing I notice about Adaia is your facial feature placement. Everything looks spaced out but still in proportion. It could be misinterpreted as being spaced too far but I think that is only because that is more of a realistic proportion as opposed to the textbook placement because there are people who have facial features similar to these. I will say I feel the nose bridge is a tad too long but it is down to your assessment.

Adding additional tattoos to the character creator is for all we know impossible, they don't appear to be actually handled by the chargen XML file. Something deeper inside of the engine of the character creator handles adding tattoos to the .mops, custom tattoos can be added via the toolset and used on races without tattoos by default. Dalish Elves and Casteless Dwarves however will always be screwed up and require you to either replace an existing tattoo or use a .mor file in the savegame information. It appears to be a hard limit in the engine that we cannot circumvent, or even properly identify why it functions the way it does.

Zeleen: Many thanks! & yes I did! ^_^

That Hair on Quinton doesn't look right on him, it looks as if Quinton is trying to defy his own nature & be someone he's not. & yes, that Hair Color looks more a dirty blond, then a brown to me. I can't tell if it's the Hair, or my Monitor handling colors different from your Monitor though. =]

Schratty: This Leliana Rendition is cool! She looks like she could be the Teenage Leliana! :D

megalust: Gnarella's cute! Yet she looks fierce & mystical, I wonder if she's been hanging around too much raw Lyrium for too long? :P

LadyAly: I've searched all of my Hair Files, & I have 0 'moa' Hair. I take it that means I don't have the Morrigan Hair. :( Where can I get it?

Chairon de Celeste: That Pic is epic! It makes your Character look like she's only 3 feet tall compared to Duncan!

Your Headache Scene is interesting! Too much booze & partying? :P

Adaia's cute! Yet she looks practical, cynical, & pessimistic! :D

Nowshin: I'm gonna have to go lower left Pic as well, it looks spunky & spirited! :)

AvatarHunter: It looks like a Furion & a Human did it with each other, & Talyn's the 1/2 breed son! I give the thumbs up! :o Judging by Talyn's Hair, I assume the Human parent was a Noble?

madmaxx007: This is very interesting takes on the Companions! Where did ya get that Leliana getup?

mochen: Morrak is epic! He looks like he could be a leader of a branch of the Legion of the Dead!

Hallo, I don't use forums very often at all but i've been lurking in this thread for a while now, appreciating some of the work thats gone on in here and thought I would post my Dwarf Noble, Durin.

Image IPB

Image IPB

I'm not overly happy with the scar on his left eye...i've been tweaking it abit but it seems to naff up his skin texture too much under the eyes, but any advice on that would be appreciated.  I went into hyperdrive on the geekometer and added the tattoo's and braided his hair after his exile ...but it's all good.

So yeah, let me know what you think :D and i'll try to keep up and give my 2 cents on peoples designs when i'm back at work! (Don't tell the boss).

@ dawsdgd: Version 1.0 was on the Nexus for a whole hour, I think, before I thought better of it. My latest version(s), however, have not been made available to the general public.

@ Justanotherstoner: I really like the color palette you used on Durin. The tan skin, green eyes, blonde hair, and purply-blue tattoo color all work really well together. As for the scar, yes, it is rather faint. You might try reversing the blend order of your skin textures (ex: putting your scar texture as the base and the quinari texture second or vice versa). All said, he's a nice design :)

@ Thanatos9t: I would suggest making his tattoo dark red. Also, there are some scar mods already available if you're feeling lazy (like me :P ). I like your overall design, but yeah, just the tattoo and the scar need a little altering, I think ;)

Thanks adheate :)

Found the modification wich replaced my dwarven tattoos
and many for other races and origins

FrecklesPlus 3.1 by Rekicker

the engine seems to look 1rst for texture overrides in
my files\\(...)\\Dragon Age\\packages\\core\\override\\textures.

renamed the files and realized I'll have to edit
Shades former freckles, now a western pseudo maori tattoo
away:

What I don't like about any cs for any game is that objects,
placeables, hair , eyes and faces often look 'wow!' in the cs
and 'meh!' in game - strange enough I never had that with
the cc and pre-release cc - maybe because I use cs skins
by ChingShih along with PinappleTree's mods
- I dislike the lack of african(american), asian races (& ...) within
the game and don't wish to see 'engine and toolset-accident
-afro-americans' instead.
Heck - Thrdas isn't cut off from the rest of the planet and I
doubt merchants and mercanaries from other contimnents
are executed on sight in ports and at the borders.

@Tyrax Thanks and glad you approve, I was curious as to what you thought about it. I noticed that Furions seem more feral in appearance so I thought it wold be interesting to make one that is more groomed and have something of that human hybrid look

@Schratty Thanks, your feedback is always encouraging to me :)

Heh, anyway... just going to throw in a couple of screen shots of a human noble I'm currently working on before I run off to work. Lemme know what you think. I've had some trouble with making him look unique, so if you have any ideas that could help me, they would be greatly appreciated. ^_^

Definitely a well crafted Aeducan design :wizard:

@Ibaru88 - let me put it this way - if he was Fergus Cousland, I'd crosscomb each
and every Chasind camp on this maker-forsaken planet for him, even as a female
city elf, before I returned to warden business <3:wub:

Petehog  - I guess your tomboy girl already has all children in camp under her command
- just give her a few years and the adults will follow without any noteworthy resistance
- use just a wee tad more natural red on her lips.

Madman007 - if I were you, I'd never leave xour warden and companions out of sight
- safe to say many here would abduct them to their camp :bandit: - well done.

AvatarHunter
- is that just the odd light sources or are these two different designs of
Angie @ the lipstick's different intensity?
I like what I see

This is a concept I have been working on since yesterday regarding origins. In the event that there was a human commoner origin what would my characters look like. This is the design I came up with for my female, a cheeky tavern waitress from Denerim named Angie.

Sure thing. Here she is with slightly redder lips.

It would be nice if the kid morph had more hairstyles to choose from...but alas..the pigtails is all there is left.
