Hello all,

Wow...I've been gone for a few days and there is so many new designs I can't even begin to comment on it all. There are so many excellent designs by everyone!

Here is something new I have been working on, a custom tattoo:





I will try to comment on some things later.

Great design, Megalust. I would make the eyes somewhat more horizontal however. Gonna use that hair from Oghren. Will never use the guy, but his cut is too awesome to pass up. I don't like modding however, but I noticed I can add the files to my override to create the char and delete 'em afterwards. Perfect.

Well your designs looking  a bit to friendly for big bad ass guys - but the story is a rather subtle dark one - so yes - well done

Wonderful Lady's you made here. 
To give an elf a rounder face isn't easy - I do it with lift up nose, mouse and chin and using the shabby/skinny sliders to get a good proportion.

This is my traveling adventurer couple Sydney and Zareb. During a trip to Lothering to visit Sydney's younger sister Cassandra who was an initiate at the chantry there they were greeted by the sound of panic and shrieks of fear. The Blight had begun to spread, the fields were set aflame, and Sydney arrived just in time to see Cassandra as well as other locals being pursued by a large group of darkspawn as they fled. Ser Bryant and his templars attempted to keep them at bay while the others escaped and without hesitation Sydney went to aid them in the bloody and brutal battle with Zareb at her side. They eventually escaped and took refuge in a neighboring village to rest before continuing on towards Denerim.

@LadyAly Thoyan has a somewhat effeminate look that I think compliments the usual soft-hearted nature and romantic way of thinking that dreamers tend to have. Some say the best things about scars are the stories behind them and that is quite a quaint a little anecdote behind his. 

@Neveri You know I actually did not model Luthor after Shawn Ashmore but that is an uncanny similarity for sure. I love the mischievous siblings theme it makes for a very entertaining scenario with the templars. I also like the fact that you gave Marko an obvious playful grin while leaving Madea's expression a little masked to push her deceiving and secretive demeanor more. Otto is a great example of an experienced templar who has been in the field most his life and has witness many terrifying things which explains his calm and collected appearance.

@Mochen Twyla really is a lovely design, and those are some very flattering screenshots. She is quite photogenic.

@Schratty I think one of your attributes that I am greatly fond of is your refreshing sense of humor and the way you are able to translate it into some of your designs. Darias is a great looking dwarf and I found it interesting that you wrote out the alternative outcome of the Dwarf Noble origin if the wardens were never present.

@Starlight Good effing grief man, that is one novel of post! You are a stronger individual than I, I would have drowned halfway in through commenting on all these glorious designs. It is nice to see more of your designs again, you are one who stands out much to me for the proportions that you use. Not to mention your elaborate and interesting back stories.

@Loria232 Hey nice take on the lady hawke, I don't believe I have seen anyone attempt a design her yet. I also would have to agree though that her eyes gives off an indecisive or anxious look, possibly aiming for a more confident and headstrong look would sharpen her appearance some.

@Klarabella I remember Brianna for sure, I think perhaps it is the hairstyle and armor choice that jogged my memory. In reference to Keira for a soft look I usually fill out the face by increasing the cheeks,cheekbones, raising the chin, and slightly widening the jawline to create that nice rounded out or oval face shape. My character Abigail a couple pages back is an example of what I mean and maybe it is what you are aiming for somewhat.

@Viruscat Hey you welcome back! I for one am very pleased that you have returned considering you are one of the individuals who made want to start posting designs from the time I joined the forums here in all honesty. Really like the way you took the elemental siblings theme and just ran with it with no restrictions to see where your creativity would lead you. They are all very intriguing representations of their respective elements and having their facial features be influenced by their elements was a great idea.

@Megalust Ohh custom tattoos eh? That certainly seems like a nice side project for you since it is incorporated a lot into your designs. I look forward to what you come up with.

@AvatarHunter Abigail looks a lot younger than Keira and that's exactly what I'm aiming for. I want her to look younger. Thank you very much for your advice, I'll give it a try.

Grrrrr.....lost my post due to power outage....Wow AH posted a similar story ! I guess great minds do think alike. Anyway here goes two of my work in progress characters, Aron and Moira. I don't know what but both their faces are slightly bugging me, especially Moira's. They might get major makeovers later, but I'll post them right now for feedback.

Moira:

Moira had come to the circle at a very young age, and as a child she was everything circle wanted their mages to be: timid, hard working and a sticker for rules. A prodigy in the creation school of magic, she became senior enchanter at a very young age. But one time she witnessed some templars trying to kill an innocent man because he had found out the secret of the templars' lyrium addiction, and having a younger brother as a templar he wanted to spread the news among people. Always a kindred spirit, Moira begged to be given the chance to use magic to confuse the man and make him forget, but there was no magic strong enough to completely wipe the memory of a person. So the man was killed before her eyes. After that Moira suddenly developed an interest in the entropy school of magic, magic that is used to confuse and control. She believed if she found some way to create potions or spells that can completely wipe the memoryof a hostile person, many disputes can easily be solved in a non-violent way.
After many failed attempts, she finally got the idea to research the prospects of blood magic that allowed a mage to control another's mind. She wanted to just learn the process how the human mind works, not cause anyone harm, but she was discovered and branded a malificar. She fled, and before running away she used her knowledge about mind control the very first time and had a templar destroy her phylactory. But still she was hunted, and she was on the run on for some time. She didn't make a good case of hiding herself since she stopped to help anyone who needed it, and used blood magic several times to make her spells stronger. Being an excellent healer she had no scars, but still using it too much always caused her being found out. During her travels she arrived at lothering, and while trying to save the people overdid the blood magic since she isn't too efficient at combat spells.

Aron:

Aron was an initiate studying at the lothering chantry. He is kind, intelligent and good looking, so many young women in lothering were heartbroken when he chose the path of priesthood. He, the templars and some other young priests actively helped the refugees to escape during the siege of lothering, but when they were about to join the others they found that the escape route had been blocked by a closely assebled group of darkspawn. Just when they were about to give up hope a strange woman appeared who took out the whole group with an absurdly powerful earthquake that buried the monsters alive, and immediately fainted after that.
Aron and the others seized the opportunity and fled,  carrying the unconcious woman with them. After coming to a safe
distance away from lothering, the group stopped to rest, and Aron found out, to his horror, that their savior was a blood
mage and the reason for the fainting was too much blood loss. But Aron could not be hostile towards the woman who had saved their lives so he kept quiet. After she was stable he confronted her about it, and she admitted it. She also calmly informed him that if he tried to get her caught,she'll simply make him forget. He was afraid, but decided to keep observing her. To his great surprise he found her to be a very kind woman during their travel towards denerim. Despite his religious upbringing he could not hate a woman who used her own blood to heal other people. After they safely escorted the refugees to denerim, both of them disspappeared. One can say she forced his mind, but who knows?

@ VirusCat: I had wondered if you'd be appearing on the thread again after I saw you submitted an entry to the Character Contest thing

Terra and Jord - I definitely like the color palette used on both designs (very earthy, indeed!). Jord's rough face texture suits the theme well...Maybe that's what Terra is missing? Although, I happen to like her regardless (her nose is freaking adorable).

Vatten and Aqua - Once again, stellar color choices. I can see the fishiness, but at the same time, I'm also reminded of cats...hmm...

Vind and Aer - Holy. Crap. I cannot even begin to express in words how freaking clever these two designs are. Everything - from the color palette to their facial features to the impeccable use of that tattoo - is simply genius, madame!

Eld and Ignis - Excellent choice in face texture. I love their sharp, aggressive features.

@ Starlight: Wow! Mad props for that amazing post! *gives cookies*

Hugo - I must say, I really like this particular morph. His fierce dark eyes and small mouth really help get across the warrior vibe. Hugo is very well-made.

Norma - An interesting name for a man (Norma is typically used as a girl's name, at least in the United States ). His tan skin, dark hair, and light eyes make for a striking contrast. He does seem to be a little on the worried side for a joker

Kenny -  I really do love the bald head and facial hair look. Good stuff!

Normen - He is very realistic. In fact, he almost looks more like a human than a dwarf due to your clever use of textures. Alas, his is a tragic story

Morth and Luka - Now this is a seriously twisted S&M story. I like it! I think you did an excellent job creating a handsome young elf with Morth, just as you channeled Vaughn from the CE Origin in creating the diabolical merchant Luka

@ klarabella: Nice to see you step out of lurker-mode long enough to deliver some awesome designs.

Brianna - I love her relatively neutral make-up, pale skin and dark hair. She is also extremely well-proportioned.

Eilan - I think the mixture of cute with rugged in this morph is stellar. She looks so sweet, but the scarring around her mouth really gives her an extra dash of character (love the background behind them as well).

Sydney - You did an amazing job capturing the look of a Lothering survivor. I think her sad blue eyes are my favorite part of this morph (though I do love the bloody texture on the left side of her face).

Zareb - Aside from him being generally handsome (which is always a plus in my book ), once again, you've done the eyes masterfully. The dark circles underneath his deep-set, dark eyes are absolutely perfect.

Cassandra - Cassandra...hmm...Could this be a nod to DA2's Cassandra? Her soft, full face is so cute. I really like the color scheme you've chosen as well. Superb work, as always!

@ kgaustad: Torfinna is excellent; especially for a strictly CC, non-modded creation

Yeah she looks good there, but at certain points she looks really annoying. I guess Morrigan's facial expressions don't agree with her. As for Aron he just seems a bit too Alistairish.

She's a really good looking character, looks alot like a noble. Only yhing bothering me is the gaunt cheeks, I'm allergic to gaunt features on healthy chars ;D

You guys might remember Indah and Medeia. I was in a really bad mood today and found myself sitting in the toolset fibbling with the concept "Duncan never came".

Basically, every Originstory depends on Duncan showing up to save the day, so without him... well. It wouldn't be too good for our PC's.

And so I found myself making 2 silly stories out off this:

Medeia


Together with Tamlen, she explored the Elven ruins and found the odd mirror-thing. As he touched it, he released a taint upon them. Tamlen was the one taking the biggest hit, and he changed almost immediately. Dark splotches began appearing on his skin, before the horrified young Medeia.

Then he attacked.
She tried to calm him, her love and best friend, and tell him it was going to be alright. She fled but he followed. In the end, she had to kill or be killed and her survival instincts took over. She ran the sword trough the body that was once her soulmate.

But it wasn't over. Dark spots started to appear on her too, and she was lost, alone, scared and cold. The changed happened pretty fast, and Medeia realized there was no hope. She found a deep hole in the floor in a remote room, and jumped to her death.




Indah


As the caste was attacked, she tried to defend her family and her friends... but Howe's men were too many, and they overwhelmed the small force Indah had gathered. She was forced to look as the men slaughtered her servants, her friends and most of her family. And then Howe came and finished the job, killing Bryce himself with a poisoned dagger.

As he was about to use the dagger end Indah's life, he figured he could make better use of her.
She is now the bedwarmer for Howe and has lost all hope. If she struggles, he won't kill her, knowing that's what she wants. He'll just torture her and make sure she suffers.

After a couple of months, she's broken. She's now Howe's obedient slave.
But deep down inside, she's longing for death and she knows that she won't meet it alone. Howe will pay.




Did I mention I was in a REALLY bad mood? :innocent:

Poor Medeia and Indah! :crying::crying:Both were very beautiful; at first, strong and confident beauties. But afterwards.....
Excellent job with Tainted medeia, but I'm more impressed at your work on the broken Indah. She really looks like someone with no will to live, but somehow clinging to life for vengeance.  The eyes the cheeks...everything is perfect!!

Well, Mythalle Cousland may be still in the Brecillian Forest, but soon enough she'll pay the 'arl' of Denerim a visit.

She's not selfish though and will keep Rendon Howe alive long enough until Ohgren and Morrigan had their fun with
him in the torture chamber.

since the third or forth time a long entry went *poof* before sending,
I 'fire up notepad 1rst and copy the comment into the input field

 @VirusCat - Thanks for the thumbs up on Voran with the stronger tat.  I think for the purposes of the Character Creation challenge, I'll stick with the lighter tat screenie just so people can see his features, but for my playing and any future screenie posting purposes, he'll probably have the stronger tat.  And, FYI - I love your elemental concept.  Fire is probably my favorite.  I also like what you have done with Medeia and Indah.  The transition from their normal looks to a more tainted one was very well executed.

@Starlight - Wow, you had a lot to say! Thanks for the compliments they are appreciated.  I definitely enjoyed seeing your designs and the stories that go with them.  Hugo is probably my favorite of the bunch!

@Klara - An attractive trio of ladies there.  Nowshin's suggestions are good ones, they should help you achive the look you are wanting.

@megalust - Nice design on the tat.  Looks like something I would try and use.

@Avatar - Your travelling couple, Sydney and Zareb sure have seen and been through some rough times by the looks of them.  Good work!

@Nowshin - I like what you did with Moira, and that screenshot was very well done.  Definitely dig it.

@Cala - Bellamy definitely looks like someone who would insidious fantasies.  Good work.

@kgaustad - Torfinna is well done for a CC creation.  You should definitely consider the PC version.  The toolset is hours of fun by itself.

I present Arlasia - the Ice Queen  

Her unequal shape is made out of purpose - since she is not really a woman anymore 


She was once a wanted apostate - she could flee from the circle under strange circumstances during a Blizzard.
Her interests never laid in blood magic - Water  and Ice - she was fascinated since a small child.
The templars couldn't find her and so she was considered dead. 
She is the icecold deadly beauty in this dark icy ruins now - even the dragons obey her. The ones who spotted her or found her, felt  her icy love and died.

As for posts that get deleted, I too write in notepad and then I save it in notepad (always the same save, called "DAOpost"). Then I copy and paste it into the thread to "fix it up" before posting it
