This is my first attempt at creating a female elf morph. I am new to the Toolset so I may be missing a key feature or two that would help me out. If anything is really out of place and/or have any suggestions, let me know.

Hi everyone! I'm back since Monday, then it took me 2 days to read through the goings on here!

I can't possibly manage comments for what I read, except for 2 stand outs: 1: Starlight, you showoff!!! How the freaking buggers did ya manage 20 Pages of Comments in 1 Post!!? & 2: WOOHOO!!! Welcome back VirusCat!!! Where the buggers have ya been!!? I feared the worst for ya irl!

It's on my to-do list to make my next Morph, but until then, i've provided a band-aid fix... Chase Cousland in higher Res & more up-close!

Thank you. I increased the nose depth by .10 and narrowed the jaws by -.10 . I wish I could get a better picture than the one in the CC, but it seems to me that the opening areas in Origins and Awakening or either too dark or too light to get a good look at the face. The CC screen will have to do for now.

Ok, got her done! I must be outta my mind making another Elf after I caused so much contention with Anri, but nonetheless... I remember someone here saying that it was impossible to make an Elf look good with a long Hairstyle... so I dared to try to make a good looking long-haired Elf!!!

This shot is to try to gauge the Cheekbones. I dunno if i've mastered these completely either:

Valerie is a City Elf Servant (or so the people think, since they cannot be made to see her as anything else) serving a Noble Lady named Lady Clarice as a Personal Bodyguard. (Please don't mind Tamlen in the background, i've been too lazy to make my Dummy City Elves. Perhaps I should one of these days... ) She is treated very well by Lady Clarice & is even NOT discriminated against by her. She was hired for her great skill at Dual-Wielding, (Once again, please don't mind the Bow on her back... I wish I could get my Dummy Characters a Costume Wardrobe!) her strong sense of right & wrong, because this Lady is NOT big on guys due to bad experiences with male-kind in her childhood & teenage years & wanted a female Bodyguard, & lastly, because Valerie was falsely accused of a crime she did not commit only because she was a City Elf at the wrong place at the wrong time & Lady Clarice was virtuous enough to investigate the crime & manage to cunningly deduce that Valerie was innocent & why she couldn't have done it, saving her from an unjust execution. Valerie was both very grateful, & very moved by this compassionate, virtuous act & she signed up to Bodyguard Duty immediately after the Case was solved, & she serves Lady Clarice with honor & duty, the likes of which make the City Guards look like booze swilling lazy couch potatoes. She only asks for a modest paycheck, the stuff to keep her Hairstyle proper & functional, good gear to get the job done with, & Lady Clarice's friendship. Lady Clarice gives these, & some of the most delicious food anyone could ask for, gratefully, though she secretly worries about whether or not her dear friend could someday get killed in the line of duty... for her...


Why does the Character have to be a snot with Screenshotting? If ya are up-close to the Face, & turn 90 degrees sideways, the Character insists on turning to face AWAY from the Screen instead of holding still & looking ahead, no matter how boring, useless, & irrelevant that looking direction is! Why??? <_< & no, I don't ever have my Mouse Arrow on any selectable, or such.

Edit: Oh, almost forgot, This particular Hairstyle is cool, but I found Clipping problems with it, seems to be entirely on the lower-back part of the Hair. It looks good when the Character looks straight ahead, but if she turns her head sideways, or up, the lower-back Hair starts getting hungry for live flesh...

I just wanted to say that the work in this thread is great and also very inspiring. Thanks everyone for sharing their designs.

It is hard to keep up or comment on everything, so please do not be offended if I do not comment on your design. I love most of what I see in here, and I am glad that there is so very much to see.

@ Mochen - Torana manages to look very cute and very tough at the same time. Love everything about her including her features and her smoky eyes. Also, love your creepy child zombie design. He looks especially creepy in the Lake Calenhad moonlight. Also, 'One eye' Eldrick is awesome! I don't know what more I can say about him. Same for the Ravager. You do really nice Qunari designs.

@ AvatarHunter - Love your two mages Dawn and Winnie. Despite being mages they look very down to earth and very cute characters. I also love Gretchen! Very nice character and would like to see her actually voiced in game. Also, love the idea for Chasind Flemeth. It would be nice if there was a hair to match the voodoo priestess hair you posted. It would be fairly easy to create a tattoo like that screen, though. I will try that out this weekend if I get time.

@ Schratty - I love Legion and Delilah! The idea behind it is very cool. I got the idea during the broken circle quest that the templars were just as susceptible to demonic influence as the mages, and I like the way you carried this out. Very creepy and nice.

@ Neveri - I really like your Wynne. She looks very true to character while managing to be very regal and quite beautiful. Leliana is awesome as well. Very pretty character. I would definitely use her in my game. Love Myra as well! She is something else with that menacing looking tattoo across her face. Adria Hawke is awesome as well. Would love to see her released and would defintely try playing as her. I am not sure what it is, but all of your designs are quite nice and look so real.

@ Saerwen - I like Valkrie. She looks very pretty.

@ badboy64 - Really like Alexander. The choice of colors is quite nice and he looks pretty cool in that dark templar armor.

@ Wyldsong - I have to say, you have made some pretty nice and dark characters, but my favorite has to be Cordawyr. He looks absolutely insane.

@ Chairon de Celeste - I really like Shades. She is one cute little elf. I also like Tempest. Are those eyebrows modded? I really dig them. I need to experiment with some different colored humans. Where are you  getting the blue skin tints?

@ Caladhiel - I have a soft spot for elves and really like your design for Caladhiel. Despite the scars, she is really cute and would like to see more screens of her in other gear.

@ Eudaemonium - It's cool to see the evolution and changes you have made to Kallian Tabris over time. I can tell that you truly love this character. I have one such character so I know how cool it is to have a character like that. I like your other designs as well. You definitely have your own style which I enjoy seeing.

@ LadyAly - Love Greta the duster queen! The scars and her tattoo are two of my favorites. The choice of colors is excellent with the silver tattoo and the almost chocolate looking armor. She almost looks too pristine to be a duster. She definitely looks tough, though. Also, I really like Arlasia - the Ice Queen. She has a unique look and seems to have a bit of darkness in her. I always love such designs.

@ Petehog - Love your God of War imposter design. The scar over the left eye is particularly nice.

@ VirusCat - It's good to see you back in the group! I like your designs for Vatten and Aqua very much. I have never been able to use the scales tattoo design to my own liking and I think you did very well with these! I am inspired to try and use this tattoo design again.

@ Starlight - Love Hugo! I have a difficulty designing human males, and I I think he looks really noble. I could see him as a potential stand-in for Alistair (I am not a fan of vanilla Alistair). I am also very partial to Norma and I think all of your recent male designs are very nice. I need to try more male designs.

@ klarabella - I hope to see more of your designs. I really like Brianna and also Eilan.

@ Nowshin - The design on Moirs is really well done. Her hair works well with her gown and also that staff and tattoo. She looks very mystical.

@ madmaxx007 - You do suych great male designs. This is one my weaknesses. I am jealous. I really like Dmitri especially in the bottom two screenshots. Those eyes look better on him as well as the armor. I like him with that hair as well.

@ TAIM2DAI - Cool design on Hohenhiem Cousland. I like him.

@ Caak7i - I think that is a pretty nice design, especially if it is your first elf.

I am working on some more tattoo designs and will post some hopefully soon. After I have a few more that I am happy with, I will probably release them on the Nexus.

I wanted to say thanks to Petehog. I'm so used to his Morrigan since I downloaded version 6.8 or so - and she is still so wonderful - (( btw.: this was the only highlight in the DLC ))

As for Frank, I did just that! Lowered his nose and mouth just a tiny bit. I wanted the face to be a bit "short" tho, so not much. He is now an NPC in my mod
Elvirah 02 reminds me of Lady Hawke. Her jawline is much like Hawkes :3 It's a good thing btw

About your chasind Flemeth and Morrigan, I like the dark lips, but I find the lipstick to be a little too "proper". Some blotchy brown tone would be much more fitting.
Elliot... woah. The face is just so alive, so real. amazing O: Darma is very true to her story. Amazing work indeed!
Logen is perfect. I can't say anything else. Jillian is very much not my style, but in no way bad. Detrick is one of my all times favs tbh. I like realistic chars and you're the master of 'em

"something seems off about her..." you said. Well, I don't see anything wrong in the design at all. She's a dark beauty. However, she looks very "blank" and I think she would benefir from some sort of expression. Lowered eyebrows, a smirk, anything like that.

I think I envisioned something different, but Frank came out of that instead. As a design he's quite cool, but he was not what I wanted him to be. I made him an NPC, and used him as base for 2 other NPCs too ^^

I like the look he has in the Ostagar shots. He looks kind at first glance, but there's a certain "shadow" there too. Something is lurking behind that pretty face. As for the haircolor. You're probably using a modded color without a stubblefile, the toolset then screws up the stubblefile which in case of many custom hairs changes the complete look. Or maybe that hair is just made to look much more white than any other hairstyle xD

When you want to take screenshots, pause the game. That way the char won't turn away.
I want to see the elf in her own environment, with the pause-helped screenshots of her face, before I say anything.

I actually published my most favorite character, Ephemera, in my presets mod, but that was a very old version which I don't like anymore, and I won't share the new one because I love it too much <3 It's kinda inverse Mochen case. :DBTW Mochen the new Mirabelle is beautiful she looks so at home surrounded by pretty flowers! What location is this?

Two more characters: Draco and Cheri.


The two of them have been childhood friends forever, and as they matured their feelings for each other grew. But they could not be together due to the huge gap between their status, Cheri being the daughter
of a Bann and Draco being the son of one of their castle guards. A tist of fate gave Draco an odd opportunity to prove his love, as Cheri was discovered to have magical powers at a very late age, almost when she was eighteen. Her parents, who narmally doted on her and treated her like a princess, turned out to be strict conventionalists who wanted nothing to do with her and wanted to send her away. Draco could not bear to part with her, so he ran away with just as preparations to send her to the tower was starting. Cheri was very scared at first, not used to being outside her home at all and definitely not to a life on the road, but as she realized that Draco would never let her get hurt and this was actually her only chance at freedom and to be with Draco, she learned to adjust to her new life.


Now the two of them live in a remote village where people don't hate mages, actually their village healer is a mage who accepted Cheri as an apprentice. Draco joined the village guards and they got married in a few years. They have been living happily ever since then.

@LadyAly: I can see why you use that Morrigan! Really stunning, and reminds me a lot of the concept art of Morrigan.

@mochen: New Mirabelle is quite lovely. Quite different from the original, but I can see the inspiration behind her.

@Nowshin: I'll hazard a guess: Denerim!

And now for euca's dilemma of the day

I'm redoing some of my old characters, and I don't know which eye shape I like better and it's driving me nuts.



Every time I decide I like Eye 1 better or think Eye 2 looks slightly more stand-out, I see the screenshots, and I'm confused.

Also, the characters themselves are not final, so don't let any other differences throw you off! I'll probably make like 5 more of each to try and help me decide

*blush* Thank you dear:wub: To be honest I wasn't very happy with Draco myself....I used Rexus as the base and even though I tweaked him a lot I still had a Rexus-y vibe from him, and I hate it when my chars become repetitive....good to know you like them!

Yay for Lady Hawke!<3 She seems really unique, a bit cynical and sad looking beauty who has seen a lot of suffering in life.Good job with the scar, it looks noticable without the rest of the skin looking like crap. Not a fan of that hair myself, but it's just a personal preference thing and a warrior like her probably prefers a bit unkempt hair anyway^_^ And I see you got the ninja armor working!

I'm throwing around a lot of ideas at the moment and here a couple more characters to emerge out of the cognitive mayhem going on in my head.

This is Kirsten a determined young woman hailing from Highever who decided to take the combat training she received from her father and set out to make a living with it. She often scouted chantry boards for quests which is where she ran into a peculiar man named Gordon. He was a regular at the chantry boards and was on good terms with the chantry. He saw her peering at the chantry board once and offered a partnership proposal to her which she mistook for indirect flirtation and declined due to his sarcastic tone. During one troublesome quest Kirsten got in over her head and found herself in a disquieting situation but fortunately Gordon was in pursuit to complete the same quest and quickly rushed to her aid. After witnessing his reliability during battle as well as the comfort of having someone to share the work load she accepted his previous offer of partnership and have been sharing many adventures ever since.

Wow somehow the trend is starting to shift from dark and creepy to romance and friendship!

Kirsten and Gordon are both very solid designs, I don't have much to say since your designs always are perfect in proportions and stuff, but the things I really like are: how Gordon is rocking the Alistair hair without being a clone of him, his moustache (seriously, a hot guy with a moustache? the end is near!), and Kirsten's eyebrows and how she looks neat even with that messy hair.<3

@Caak7i Nice work on your elf lass, it looks like you have a general idea of how to work the proportions in the toolset. It sort of takes a bit to get comfortable with the toolset I think but it is certainly worth the effort and you are off to a good start.



@Tyrax I'd sure like to know who it was who said it was impossible to make a decent looking long haired elf because that is quite false. That is a decent attempt at another elf but I can't help but feel that her face could stand to be a little wider. Although I am partial to full faces so you could take that observation however you please. I really try not to state personal preferences when commenting because I don't really think it contributes much to assessing someone's design since we all have our preferences.



@Mochen Mirabelle is a heartbreaker indeed, I like her soft and demure facial expression. Great job with that remake of your cherished first character.



@Nowshin The beautician is very much up to her palor tricks on these two designs certainly, you really hammed it up on the cute and lovely dovey theme but it is so very you that I wouldn't expect any less hah. I think you did well in creating a nice example of young love with your high spirited and innocent looking teens.



@LadyAly You know I really really like your Lady Hawke, she has a certain presentation that appeals to me very much so. Excellent job constructing such a thought provoking facial expression for her, you put her personality on display through her gaze in a nice way.



@Starlight Thanks, glad that I was able to induce a little appreciate for more normal and everyday type characters. Your ogre concept is very original and amusing, I applaud your creativity for that idea as well as your use of textures on your abomination, interesting stuff.



@eucatastrophe If you were looking for a bit of feedback on the two I would have to side with the 2nd eye choice there, it looks like a stronger eye shape to me.

TAIM2DAI: The proposton looks fine although I will suggest to make him looks a bit rougher.
Tyrax: If you have any 2 hours of sleep, I'm sure you can go through all of 20+ pages of comments

Valerie looks pretty although the hair color, well....may be it is just the different taste between us.

Caak7i: The modified version looks good now. I can't think of anymore improvement for her.

megalust: Good to know you like Hugo and Norma. Both custom tattoo looks impressive as always!

The Lady Hawke looks awesome! Though I just thinkt the red color on her brows is a bit disturbing...

mochen: I haven't seen the original version before but Project Mirabelle is still a mochen's style design. She is pretty!

eucatastrophe: I like the V2 eyes as it makes him look less frighten and tougher.

AvatarHunter: Another two solid design! Kristen and Gordon are both great on propostion and background stories. Though, opposite to the opinion of Nowshin, I think Gordon is a "grown-up" version of Alistair.

The following are my two latest design (click onto the image to see a larger version):

The idea is based on the outcome of the main quest "Paragon of Her Kind". Being the youngest son of Lord Harrowmont. What will his life be affected with the outcome of the quest? I think of the story all along even though Thorim doesn't resemble the lore-version of Lord Harrowmont. There is one happy ending and one sad ending.

Prince Thorim (If Lord Harrowmont becomes the king) - I can't help but keep making cute male dwarves :whistle:

Prince Thorim is the youngest son of King Harrowmont. He is easy-going and cheerful. He enjoys life more than those nasty politics among the nobles. Although he has doubts about the caste system and the ways of Orzammer, he keeps that to himself in order not to disappoint his father. However, seeing what politics has cost the life of his father and further push Orzammer into chaos, he can no longer stand it anymore. He volunteers as an ambassador to reinitiate communication between Orzammer and Ferelden and go to the surface. Over the surface, he meets his beloved one and find happiness again.

According to the historical records, Thorim lived at the surface for the rest of the life. He never goes back to Ozrammer.






Thorim (If Lord Harrowmont fails the claim to the crown and is executed)

Thorim is the youngest son of former Lord Harrowmont. He is easy-going and cheerful. He enjoys life more than those nasty politics among the nobles. However, things change after Lord Harrowmont has failed the claim to the crown and has been executed upon the request of King Belhen. Thorim barely escapes the attempted assassination onto him and is exiled to the surface. That means he will be stripped of all title and even records inside the Shapers' memories. He is nothing to the Orzammer. Although he understand the Warden just doing what is needed to defeat the Blight, he won't forgive what the Warden has done to his father and his house. He care less for what will be the fate awaiting the Warden.

The hardship of life changes the once cheerful dwarf into a bitter and sad person. His health deteriorates greatly. 6 years later, he departs the world with sorrow and bitterness.

Wow, the idea of Thorim's fate depending on my actions on "paragon of her kind" really makes me even more indecisive about choosing between Harrowmont and Bhelen. You are evil, you!



Anyway, excellent contrast between the alternate realities. And he's also very well proportioned with interesting choice of beard and facial features. Good work! *thumbs up*
