Zeleen, that's a very interesting take on character designing. Thanks for asking and sharing I was coming solely from an aesthetic POV, but you're right, there is more to that:
He's a character who's been forced to grow up fast, and while he doesn't enjoy it, he realises he's got things to do, and he has to do them. He's grim in many ways, but there's a person underneath that shell, too. 
I definitely think version 2 is a better fit.

@Starlight I commend you on your A & B scenario concept that is a progressive idea for a design and you executed his appearance in relation to both outcomes nicely. Keep thinking outside of the box, you will always be rewarded with an original looking design that way I believe.

@Mochen I'm sure we all have created designs that we feel are not up to our usual standards but I don't believe anyone can really grow creatively if you have nothing but smooth sailing all the time, some of those crashing waves can cause you to think differently or take another route that may lead to something better in the end. With that being though don't demerit those solid designs but take what you can from them.

@Neveri Kiareth definitely turned out as one of your more exotic characters which is very appropriate for Dalish in my eyes. She holds a liberated and free-spirited persona, good going with getting her personality across clearly. Nice touch up work on Magnhild, you succeeded in maintaining her sexiness hah.

@Zeleen How great to see Wyona was able to receive a happy ending, she deserved it for all her perseverance! Excellent job on her miraculous overnight metamorphosis, it appears she was quite beautiful before she met her unsightly fate.

@Xirbeus Always cool to see a new face contributing some nice work to the thread, good job. Hope you do us the favor of continuing to post more work when you feel the urge to.

@Luvac5 Everyone looks to be quite fanatic about the mysterious Lady Hawke hah. Interesting variation of her you have come up with, I like the skin tone that you chose.

@Saerwen Ah yes more Lady Hawkes I see, I take it a lot of you have your own variations in the works. Those are nice concepts you have come up with, you changed it up a bit with that other hairstyle and red hair color. 

Well I'm still in good spirits creativity wise, here's a couple more characters I have finished up.

This is Josefina and her personal bodygaurd Tariq. In Antiva, anyone doing business in the black market or familiar with the underground circuit knows who this woman is. She is a successful merchant known to have done many dealings with the Antivan Crows and has unimaginable connections that span from Antiva to Orlais. There have also been gossip of her trafficking stolen goods and exotic antiquities from the dreaded pirates Kazuma and Taki. Her bodygaurd Tariq is an Antivan Crow contracted to her for all her generous contributions to their organization and is issued the tasks of protecting her well being as well as any other requests she may have whether it be business or pleasure.

And I agree heartily about Morrigan's emotions - she shows a lot of it in the few minutes she has -  I guess more then in the whole Origin

I used the other Tattoo on Lady Hawke and my thinking is she loses personality with the blue eyes and the other tattoo - she may be closer to the default  one - but that shouldn't be important for me.

@LadyAly I definitely wouldn't make the changes, your first version is much more original looking to me. I feel if you were going to make the appropriate changes to favor the Lady Hawke reference more then you should just go all in and change the hairstyle and everything too but definitely keep her as she was.

@ Neveri: I like the revisions you made to Magnhild - she seems a little softer (and cuter)

@ Zeleen: Wow! You definitely get some virtual cookies for catching up on many pages of designs! *gives cookies* Wyona before an after is quite a striking comparison. While I love how twisted her abomination form is; her human form is quite nice as well! I especially like the muted lip color (it works so well with the purple eyeshadow methinks).

@ Xirbeus: You know, your avatar bears a striking resemblance to one of the presets I did along time ago and put on DA Nexus I really like Winter, btw, the bold blue against her pale skin and white hair is really a nice touch.

@ Saerwen: Your second Hawke-inspired Cousland is absolutely exquisite!

@ Nowshin: While I like your version of Finn, I kind of thought his...interesting...face fit his personality. You've turned him into a looker, which far be it from me to complain about such a transition

@ AvatarHunter: I like the back story on Josefina and Tariq (awesome name, btw). Josefina kind of reminds me of Isabela insomuch as she possesses a rugged beauty. And I do ever so love designs that incorporate warmer skin tones

 Holy cow.  This thread has gotten away from me.  I've been trying to get things ready for the new puppy we are getting:

And then working some overtime and such.  Been a busy week.  I am sure I am going to miss some stuff, but I'll comment on a few things.

@mega - Thanks for the compliments.  Cordawyr is probably my favorite recent creation, glad you like him.  Irular is a good design, and her Qunari boyfriend is really well done.  Where did you get that tat from for him?

@Tyrax - On Valerie, maybe try to shorten up or round out her face a bit.  You've got a good base to work with nonetheless.

@Mochen - Like what you did with the new version of Mira.  Two thumbs up! Suzannah is pretty rocking as well!

@Nowshin - You have a very innocent and young look for Draco and Cheri there.  It works really well in the design.

@Euca - Personally, I like the wider eye shape, but I am sure you have the dilemna figured out by now.

@LadyAly - Good stuff with your Lady Hawke, the black armor compliments the design very well.

@Avatar - I really like the look for Kirsten.  I had to go back and look it at a few times I liked it so much.  Kudos!

@Starlight - That hairstyle on Thorim always cracks me up.  You did a good job in capturing that easy going and cheerful look on him.

@Neveri - Much like I told Avatar, I had to go back and look at Kiareth a few times.  She is really well done.

@Zeleen - Good story and transformation pics for Wyona.  I dig it.  I can see the old in the new and vice versa.  Also, thanks for the thumbs up on Rastan and Voran! As for Voran, yeah, I am done.  I could go on and on, but I think I'll leave him be...for now...

@Xirbeus - Alex is my favorite out of the three.  Good work there!

@Saerwen - I think the tat/smear works well with Grace.  It just seems to fit.

@Chairon - That battle mage is really well done, I definitely like it.  As for dropping Cordawyr in for Finn, I am all for it=)

Alright, some more designs have popped up, and I missed a few through the last few pages, but I am out of time.  Keep up the good work all, and I'll get some new stuff up in a few days.  My next bit of work requires a custom tat, so I have to finish figuring out how to do it to get things up and running.  I'll try and be back for more comments tomorrow.

And I guess just because I feel the need to share, this was a requested morph I did for someone, although it did not turn out like I wanted. Someone wanted a morph resembling Kane from the game Kane and Lynch, and I thought I would give it a shot. What I discovered was that I am NO good at recreating the looks of real life and fictional characters, but the guy gave me an endorsement for it anyways, and I guess he likes it well enough.



So, here is Kane Lite (like Bud Lite, not as good as the real thing):

@Schratty  You are probably right, I signed up to the forum in long time ago, pick one of the characters I was playing and have not changed it since.  I think it was one of your earlier designs that replaced one of the slots.  I have most of my elves morphs posted on nexus.  A lot of people liked her. I worked while on here and was hard to figure out makeup with the very light complexion

@Caladhiel  Alex and my Arlayna are one of the same.  Arlayna was what I called her in the toolset.  I ment to post variation of her with different hair or without tattoo.  As for Winter I will look into that maybe winter 2.0

mochen   Thanks!  It wasn't easy, learning the tool set and figuring out what works.  After using Petehog's Dragon Age Redesign has anyone every went back to the original (default) characters.  Some of which I completely forgot what they looked like.  Some you wished you never looked at again.  I laugh at people who talk about Xbox and PS3 (by the way I also have Dragon Age for PS3, christmas present).  The PC version with all of the spackling we can do. Blows the others away.  Sometimes I think Bioware should have some kind of award system for the modders.  Because without them, I know for fact I would not be playing Dragon Age for this long.  I compare it to Mass Effect 2.  There is hardly any mods out there and I get bored with it.  Blizzard. I love Star Craft series, but I can't play thru over and over, may go back to it later.  oh I am rambling to much need to post few more comments.

LadyAly     What do you think of pippi with gear?  As far of mara jade hair, I believe the color is good, but I went thru almost all of the hair styles.  What hairstyle would you recommend?

Zeleen    I have tons of photos of in game shots,  I just have to search thru them.  I usual use the screen capture function in game.  But I am wondering if I can get better shot by pausing and using different program.

Schratty  Some where I saw some of your work with posessed child and templar.  Now I can't find it.  I thought it was nice photo.  I alway thought it would be nice mod if you let the child be posessed in Shale content.  The demon showed interest of learning more about humans.  So have her show up at camp and treat the player as adopted parent or something.  Some kind of story that continues from your choice you made.

haven't tried with the regular armor, but for this case. The armor allowed me to mix and match items. The armor I changed the tint to green and I am using the "Amy" mod I believe for the stockings. in exchange for boots.

I only did a few tweaks on Magnhild, or well, I did make her from scratch in the toolset as she used to be a CC creation, you can see the original in my 'various characters' album.

@AvatarHunter, Josefina is awesome, I love her facial shape, and the warm colours you've used on her. It's rare to see you use tattoo's in your designs, but in this case I think it suits her rather well. I also love that you included your pirates in your little story.
- Tariq, another excellent manly and good looking design, my girly side can't help but notice the good looking part. The stripe on his cheek is a nice touch, so are those eyebrows.

@LadyAly, I say keep your Lady Hawke the way she was, she does loose some personality with the smear and blue eyes. She's lovely as she was.

- Kane, whilst not as adorable as the puppy, he does have his charms! I think he looks rather good, badass and tough.

Well, my head instantly thought ''it's a trap!''. Then again, I grew up watching the TV show, so seeing her all sexed up is.. odd, but amusing. x)

A friend of mine, same one that asked me to make him a pretty elf, Sewiel, asked me to make him a more.. alternative Morrigan. With blond hair. And not looking too much like her original self. She was very fun to make, although I'm sure, not for everyone. We all have our preferences to our companions. He was very happy with her, so that's really all that counts. I do think she came out rather neat, though.

The daughter of a princess who was wrongfully "imprisoned" in the Circle Tower by her husband (he had designs on becoming king) and an unscrupulous Knight-Commander. The princess learned she was pregnant only after she had been sent to the Circle and begged a sympathetic templar to help her escape. The templar enlisted the help of an elven mage, and together, the princess and the elf escaped. The princess died in childbirth and the elf took the child with her to the Dalish.



Even though she was raised by elves, Charlie grew to dislike them and fled her clan to live as a hermitess in the woods. She is a scavenger, looting every corpse she comes across (as well as the occasional sleeping traveler), and hording all her "treasures" away in a secret cache. She loves chocolate, shiny objects and her faithful wolf Ser Barksby.

Starlight: I think Purple Hair rocks on Female Spellcasters! This is the 1st time i've ever tried to pull off Purple Hair on a non-magic Character.

Thorim's quite an interesting story! I'm not sure how to regard him, aside from him being well made.

@LadyAly~I like your first rendition of your Lady Hawke the best.  I found that when I use that tattoo thing I have to really design around it..pthhh. When I did the redheaded version of mine it was before the screenshot came out, and I liked her the best!  Then I did Lena, and as I have begun to play her, I am liking her a bit more.. I think it is because when I use the brighter non vanilla colors on the modded hairs they get those wierd white streaks..?  Does anyone know how to fix this?

@Starlight~Love the story that goes with Prince Thorin, and the progression of his morph.. is so sad, and he is such a cute little redhead!  You make the cutest dwarf men.

@Neveri~Your Lady Hawke started it all, she is fierce. Magnhild is scary, and cool. Kiareth is haunting with those eyes and the whole color scheme you have going, I also stumbled upon that armor set on the nexus and snatched that right up. Also liked the Blondigan.. the tattoo is a nice touch. 


@Zeleen~ You should write a story about Wyona, seriously.  Nicely done.  Also liked your take on LadyHawke, I really like her face shape, and the hair choice.

@Tyrax~ Chase looks like a serious looking dude, and as for Valerie I am going to also request an outside in better light screenshot of her!  I think she has potential!  And I am a major elf lover!
(Oh and as far as Grace goes if you really want her to have red eyes, I will edit it and put it up on my project page for you!)

Thanks to all for such lovely a reception to Wyona's story...  It was indeed inspired by the game when Wynne and the Warden were talking in camp.. and so yes, the characters were created with the story in mind for those who asked.  The texture used for Wyona the abomination was a texture for a crevice blended btw.
