AvatarHunter: Your Trio of Templars rock! I think they could use 1 more member though, then they have a full Battlegroup. I would think they would wanna full Battlegroup to maximize available Smiting power for a battle. I have to vote Crais as the best of the 3. He looks so badass that he could put the fear of the Maker into even other badasses!

LadyAly: Vyridja looks so beautiful, yet ladylike, that she could be an Elven Noble if there was any such thing.

I don't see how I could ever get away with sticking the Nose Tip any farther in, so I tried sinking the entire Nose in .25. Did this stop the Nose from 'sticking out too far'?

Edit: Oh, almost forgot, it's completely amazing how different Valerie looks between the Brecilian Cave light & the City Elf Starting House Fire light!

@LadyAly  Thanks for the comment, much appreciated. I really like Vyridja's entire look, that robe she has on is wild I love it lol. Overall she has a very unique look to her, I dig it. 

@Tyrax  Still slaving away on Valerie I see. Well for her nose I don't believe there is much else you can do to improve it outside of resetting the nose sliders and completely reshaping it so if it feels right to you I would say just stick with it. Also good thinking with regard to my elite templar team, I went ahead and added a fourth member so now the party looks more complete.

@Tyrax~I smell a cop out! Just joking, you have female friends right? Some of them are pretty no? Just needling you! Your elfling looks sooo much better with different lighting, WOW. I think maybe leave the poor thing be, only thing and this is just a purely personal thing, as I believe Dalish should have a tat, as they are children until they get one, but she is your girl, do as you will. And I really like her eyes, they are intelligent and kind.



@AvatarHunter~ Great idea with the templars, and well done all of them, like the female design, intriguing name too, Salem.. hmm does that have some signifigance? Also curious, I am still starting out in this, when I make men, as I primarily make females, they always seem to be clones of each other, do you use a unique shape to begin with , or start from scratch? You don't have to tell me which, just curious.



@Anyone I may have missed, am going to play Halo Reach... yes I own a 360, and yes I do love me some 1st person shooter once in a while... does that make me a bad person? Nope I don't think so. It is kind of nice not to worry about micro-managment! And the game is really quite fun!! So I shall return to comment later! @Saerwen For both females and males I always start from scratch, I just aim for different actual face shapes and use a lot of slider shape variations to achieve whatever shape it is I am looking for. The best way I have found to keep your designs from looking repetitive is to not be afraid to try different face builds instead of sticking with the default heart and square face shapes that everyone typically uses for males and females. There are at least seven other face shapes that people rarely attempt to use so that would be the best bet to change up the initial appearance of your characters as far as my method goes.

Also yes Salem's name does have some significance to it. You may or may not have heard about this but around the end of the 1600s there was a such thing as the Salem witch trials where people were being arrested and prosecuted under the suspicion of being witches and warlocks. Considering that you could relate the behavior in the salem witch trials to the attitude templars have towards apostates I thought naming her after the town where the witch trials were held would be a fitting name for a templar since she passes judgement on witches. Ridiculously complex reasoning behind a name but that is my way lol . . .

Eudaemonium: Among the three characters I like Dalish mage the most. That may be because I like the proportional and facial features show on her. The screenshot of the third Dalish rouge is rather dark and it is difficult to comment on his features.

hmm...in my opinion, Lady Alytys looks a bit too soft which contradicts the description of yours. I think may be make her eye sight more stern will be better..

Vyridja Anar is pretty...though I think her chin is a bit high. Maybe we have different taste.

@AvatarHunter, that was actually what I was referencing to, the witch trials, cool. I found myself in the game agreeing with Morrigan when she made the statement about "No trials for Apostates" and how the templars would have no problem parading around with her head on a pike. Sometimes I wondered if that was just because of her association with Flemeth, as wouldn't other apostates be taken to the circle if they were not blood mages? But I am sure there are templars who are Zealots, who feel all apostates are maleficar... but this is probably not a discussion for this thread... and I now sound like a COMPLETE NERD. But thanks for answering my questions, much appreciated.

EDIT: And that hair, God it makes me wish I had gotten the PC version instead of the Xbox 360 version, but I have Awakening and all the DLC (sans Darkspawn Chronicles) so it would be a huge investment to rebuy it all.  KInda also makes me want to buy Dragon Age 2 for the PC, however then I couldn't import my saves

Starlight: Conbell is an interesting character with an interesting story. He looks so sad, poor guy.
                  Lok and Lincan are great. I like their story and hope they stay together. Lincan looks like a nice and
                  understanding guy. The picture of them together is so cute.
                  Keren and Venis are pretty. Keren looks nice, Venis more experienced than her sister. Barlok, a nice guy
                  from the way he looks, he will be easy prey for the two sisters.

Tyrax: Sorry I mistook Valerie for a Dalish. I saw the screenshots and came to the wrong conclusion. I'm sorry. But
            I stick with what I said, as a City elf DW she may not shoot someone but rather stab him/her/it but still she
            looks perfectly capable of doing so if she wanted it.
            As for her Nose, I think it is alright, changing anything might change the overall design to much. I can't
            really say much about it, I like her as she (V.6.0) is.

Saerwen: Lena Hawke looks great, very pretty (better than the Bioware one from the screenshots). Just wow.
           
Endaemonium: Your Dalish mage looks very good. Tough, wise, beautiful and very graceful.

LadyAly: Lady Alytys Lamar ist beautiful. Vyridja looks indeed kind and like a good, strong, caring and thoughtful

                           Crais looks experienced, hardened by his past and many fights but (hope it is the right word)

I just wanted to make a brief statement, well it may not be so brief, I wanted to say thank you to all of you, I was on the nexus, and got some nice comments, and so not so nice... And being here on this forum, this thread in particular, has shown me that ppl can have manners (well as a general rule!) on the internet!  I appreciate the helpful criticism, and also the gushing when something is great, I also look up to the masterful artists here.. you all know who you are.  So I just wanted to say that, hope you all have a good Sunday, well it is Sunday here in Eastern Washington State in the US... us Damned Americans... and I have tried to watch out for that whole US attitude, cause in the beginning, I actually thought everyone was like me.... duh, sheltered life huh?

I know there have been people I missed, but to be honest, I am just too tired to try and comment on everything.  Still seeing some good designs though.  I have been meaning to do some more, but to be honest, I am just lacking the will and motivation.  At the very least, since I finally figured it out, I am hopefully going to get an egyptian style tattoo pack up and running, but again, I am just lacking the will and motivation to finish it.  We'll see if I can stir something up over the next week and if I can get over this melancholy bleh feeling.

@LadyAly - By the way, about whoever was saying the negative comments on your Lady Aly design, don't let it get to you. Some people just don't have their brains attached to their mouths, and feel the need to say hurtful things for no other reason than to get a rise out of people due to their own low self esteem and some inane need to try and make themselves feel superior to others. In reality, these internet tough guys/gals probably don't have much going for them in real life.

Your 4th Templar is looking great! I do believe the Team is complete! Now, with that said, they can go to the Denerim Tavern & drink their fill, because they're not needed! Salona got the little paltry Circle Tower mess dealt with & saved her fellow Mages! Take that Templars!   I still like the Knight Commander most! I bet he could stare down even Loghain!

Saerwen: Valerie was City Elf from the beginning, she was just borrowing my Dummy Dalish until I got the Dummy City Elf built. I paid a lot of attention to her Eyes, I was 1st & foremost wanting them to be capable of a piercing gaze, for she will need it for intimidation. I'm glad they're not a one trick pony though.

AvatarHunter naming Salem was genius. I grinned at it. Tis a sad shame though how many innocent people were horrifically murdered for nothing when they mighta just been barmy, mentally ill, or just non-conformist/different.

Starlight: My apologies, but you say 2 different takes on Valerie at the same time, & it confuses me, so I can't tell how to regard it. Please clarify.

AbsolutGrndZer0: *Sympathetic pat on Shoulder* If it makes ya feel better, I suffered horribly for my PC power. I had to build a new Computer to run DA:O, though it was strategic timing anyway because my old bucket of bolts was running outta durability anyway. Still it cost me over $1,000 bucks for this, & the jobs I did to build the cash sucked like unholy hell. I hope this makes ya feel better.

Not been around lately, as I've been quite sick. But I have been lurking around here when I've been able to, and I have to say there's been lots of wonderful designs lately. Will possibly comment on some tomorrow, to tired now.
I've got a few recent'ish designs I can share, though.

Molly, a random dwarf I made a while back that I finished today. I think I initially meant her to be an adventurous dwarf living on the surface, and loving it.


And, finally got around to making my own Sten and Oghren. Rather happy with these, first toolset made male dwarf and first ever qunari.

well I was trying to give a shiny eye look, I was basing the eyes off of this pic



the eyes had a shin that reminded me of the glowing eyes of the Dune Movie/series. And I've been trying for a while to recreate that shiny/glass look, Moonwing did for his eye textures. I didn't know how he could make textures has that glow/look normal at daytime (After trial and error, I figured out how) Very talented modder, and I love his work.

One of the only eye textures I think are amazing, other then petehogs, I mean I should be paying homage to this person, if it weren't for this person, me and petehog probably wouldn't have known/figured out as soon, how to edit eye textures. I really salute this guy. Its sad that this modder left the modding community (for this game that I know of), really talent person, like a picasso on textures, his work, was art, its amazing what he did for this game. sad and happy, sad he doesn't go on nexus, happy that he maybe doing something greater/more with his talents.

What I love about this texture is that it look normal when its in day light, but it glows when its at night, kinda like the grey warden in the trailer.

a new texture I'm working for my leliana character, aside from the hair (not my creation), everything else on her face is a custom texture I did, mole, and eyes, I notice from the trailer (sacred ashes) her eyes were slightly green grayish, as if blur studios thought sten and leliana were warden themselves, and gave them these wicked glowing gray tints, mixed with their natural eye color (a really cool concept I must say). After trial and error, I figured out how. So for awhile thats what I've been trying to remake, I haven't seen a texture for leliana that had that color. So I made one myself, it takes practice to get stuff like this right, but you do what you can, with what you got.

Anyway back to lady hawke lol XD. I really wanted to give a crystal blue look, I wanted to make her look powerful/at the same time unnatural, as if there was something strange about this blood mage. Glowing bad a#% look. I could darken the pupil, make it less foggy. Thought it be interesting to share with you guys. Sorry if I don't go into further detail on some of my work, I go into better detail, so you guys understand my work/get where I'm comming from.

@Saerwen, I'm quite flattered you're using the blood smear texture for your avatar, thanks for the kind words and appreciation. It makes alot, so thank you, with the structure alone, your avatar looks really great/beautiful.
