@LadyAly Thanks, it is nice to be back around. I am also glad you noticed the grain texture of the screenshot as well. I edited the shot to make it look that way in attempt to make it appear more stylized. It is an idea I had to dress up the appearance of my designs, I have been trying it out on a few characters here and there to see what I can come up with.


I find your texture/skin tone combination for Voran to be rather interesting, it gives off a fresh faced apprearance yet aged to fit the lore look of dwarfs. That particular facial hair choice makes him look regal to me like a someone from a noble caste too.


@Mulch00 I can appreciate the work  you did with textures on Sandy very much. The cool toned skin complexion accompanies blonde hair well and the coloring of the lips and around the eyes blends in with her skin tone as well instead of sticking out or drawing too much attention. With regard to lore, dwarfs have overwhelmingly bulbous noses so Leif could stand to have the the tip of his nose broadened more to stop the bridge of his nose from making it look thin and human-like overall.

@RagingCyclone I like that you attempted to produce a more alternative look for Greagoir with the bronze skin tone and eye texture. The combed backed hair seems fitting for his personality as well considering that he is a bit uptight and something of a A type personality.

@Starlight I am not entirely sure if this is a new concept for you since I have not been around that much but I am sensing a strong asian appearance in a few of your dwarf characters there. I will say that is the first time I have seen Asian features incorporated in dwarfs and it looks genuine and original. It may be something of a subtle part of your characters here but it stands out a lot to me.

Thanks for the advice.
I tried it out on Leif, but couldn't get used to his new nose and because of that couldn't really get anything to work on him, so I decided to make another dwarf with a bigger nose and broader tip.
Might sound stupid but that's how I learn, starting over till I get it right and till I'm used to how it should look.
When I have an idea how those dwarfen noses work I'll rework the other dwarfs.
Am I going in the right direction or is the nose still too small/the tip no narrow and the bridge too broad?

mulch00: For the breadless dwarf, there are some methods you can try. As the rigid shape of dwarf models, sometimes I will use the square chin to change the shape of the jaw. Sometimes I will apply a bit of Oghern's shape to make the face look round. And the dwarf chin, model have too much which makes the dwarf look aged. I have to apply the stubble to cover up the shadows to soften the chin and this can held to make him look younger. If I want to create some "bear" type characters, I will apply chubby shape (the shape chubby in tab 3 instead of fat shape in tab 15) as well.

@mulch00 Yes, that is exactly the look I was suggesting. Since dwarfs typically have round faces they can handle those large and broad features and still look proportional overall. Your new dwarf turned out great.

Ok I tried it, but I'm not sure if I got it right. It's really hard to find a balance between too chubby and too skinny, and I'm having trouble especially witht he cheeks and cheekbones. Also the neck and/or jaw is really tricky.

Snorri, deliberatly more human-like, but otherwise I tried to follow Starlight's advice.

 @mulch Your dwarfs having improved much - I like especially Ragnar and Leonin. Leonin has  a bit to *white and smooth* skin  - but that is personal taste.
Boris is one of a handsome chap - I  have serious problems to make handsome male *lol*
Nadine is gorgeous I agree with greengoron89 in this case 

@RagingCyclone your interpretation of Greagoir is interesting - I like it. I would probably use another eye style for him, this gives him somewhat of a grief look.

@Petehog its good to see you are still around - and this dwarf looks nicely angry

Tamyris looks like a real pirate queen. In my opinion, that hairstyle is pretty difficult to use on morphs (at least it is for me) but you've made it work really well. Great design.

As for Boris, it's really just favourable light and pose. I realised to late that his nose looks somehow too long, or at least for my taste. (Auch wenn man das Sprichwort mit der Nase usw. bedenkt).
Also most of my male designs look quite similar.

you dalish elven girl look really good. I would keep her if I were you. The tattoo can be tricky at times, especially it's such a beautiful face and such expressive eyes.
Maybe a tattoo like the one Petehog used on his very pretty young elfie, would work.

Like you said a smaller tattoo or one with thinner lines would be better for her.

Mulch--I really like Tarek, that skin tone works really well with him. For Saul I would suggest either eliminate the mutton chops or add some stubble to his head Like Jason Statham. As a bald man myself in RL I know if I bother to shave my head the beard gets shaved in the same time.

About Saul, I don't know, I actuelly like the idea (well, I like the look) of a shaved head and stubble.
Bruce looks really amazing.He looks intelligent and like he's choosing words and actions very carefully. I think he'd make a good diplomat and a wise and just ruler. I also like the a bit sad look on his face.

I really like your elfs, the all arevery handsome and young with the smooth, perfect elven complexion, but without becoming beautiful shells without any hint of character.
Deygan is a really good example a roguish, cunning elven youth. Impressive design.

@mochen Stevie is very androgyne, a very impressive design. The only thing I would maybe change is the jaw - a tad wider maybe :happy: Personal taste I think.

@mulch - thanks! I'm trying to make all elves in the game 'beautiful' as they are supposed to be. By my standards it means they should have perfect skin and look younger and better than humans, but I also with some character.

The only one that is intended to look not pretty but like a little freak is my Airam Surana, who is also the Warden from my story. The only person who likes him is Zevran.

I like your Qunari - especially his nose and lips. I had a lot of trouble with that when I was making my Sten.
And Gideon is very sexy!

@LadyAly - Cammen was the first one I changed, I couldn't stand his original look. But after his quest he disappears! - and so I used him as my Mahariel as well. ^^

@mochen - wow, I love your dolls. And where did you get their hair? It looks great.

I designed Zev specifically for my Airam Surana, who is only 18 - original Zev looks like he's in his 40s and I always had a feeling I'm a sick pedo. So I changed him to be younger, bit more attractive and also to look more like cocky and arrogant assassin.
