@bandy1 you are a bit late - aren't you ? the whole thing is nearly forgotten and you come up like a cow and mow the grass again ? tz tz

Am I late? Really?

Considering Pete's defending himself about 4 posts up from someone else slinging mud ( at least as he precieve's it. Wonder where he ever got the idea to be a little defensive in this thread, humm??? ), doesn't really seem so.

@ VirusCat; Then don't bother reading my replies. I simply pointed out why I think your behavior was irrational. There was no call for you to call out Pete like you did. Saying he should " do what he wants of course " is a little late after the fact, when he's already pulled the plug.

Yep you are late - cause what Petehog has wrote above has nothing to do with the other issue. You should read carefully over all before you make unnecessary statements.

 uups now I opened the third side in a row ...

I see what you mean Y.H. - she is still in progress - so thanks for the hint. ^_^

I never said it had anything to do with the other issue. I asked why you think he might be feeling a bit defensive in this thread to begin with???

Couldn't have anything to do with the last four pages now, could it???

Shut up all of you :P I sent a PM to you, bandy1, and I prefer to keep this out of the thread from now on.

Ignoring some of the recycled nonsense, I wanted to say that I meant no slight to your designs, Petehog. Rather, my joint criticism of the image that Mlai00 brought up was intended to be directed at the in-game Character Creator (which I find rather frustrating in terms of what I perceive to be its limitations). By that same token, I'm usually rather impressed by the efforts of those who manage to design interesting characters with the character creator (it's something that would drive me batty). The other images that you posted are good examples of the deviation from toolset to character creator and it leaves me wondering if there is any way to export a .mop file that won't wind up distorted in such a fashion.

It's just the limits of the CC. It snaps some of the sliders around since it can't handle the more advance ones the toolset uses :(

I have made my presets by not altering any slider under "Features - nose", because those sliders are the ones that makes the nose crappy in the CC. When not tweaking that it seems my noses in the CC look exactly like they do in the toolset :3 A hint!

To get back on topic... again! What do you guys think of this one? Seeing it like this made me like my version a little better :)

I noticed the nose on yours isn't as squashed in, and is a little bigger. makes the morph look better, so a success IMO.

I actually like the No Blend version of that preset a bit more. Good to know about the Features - Nose section throwing things off (which explains why the nose for some of my characters look a bit off when I look at the preset versions I exported using the in-game character creator). It's a good thing that's a preset because I have to admit that's another one of those male hair cuts that I'm not all that fond of.

*looking for cover as the Bann Teagan fans look around for things to throw at me*

For the love of.... owh wait forgot to tell you people, mochen is still in China vacation I assume and I'm back from Singapore. Lovely country. Anyway back to the topic from my view of 10 pages backward I find it Viruscat's mod is fantastic. No really its her way of creativity of blending faces in cc. That idea haven't crossed my mind, despite my cc usage for the past 4 months. Its a job well done which I have nothing but to give positive comments. So by some people in this thread, we artists take all the trouble of expressing our creativity which needs to be respected and appreciated regardless.

and @Viruscat I don't see why you should stop improvising cc characters. Keep it up coz I'm enjoying myself using your mod. just need a couple more hours to endorse. ^^

I normally don't comment on characters that I don't like because people tend to take it personally. If you don't want an honest (and kind of blunt) opinion, stop reading here.
Alright, I warned you. As a whole, she doesn't look very good to my eyes. The nose seems a bit large and "stretched", especially in the lower left pic. The eye shape feels a bit extreme, and there are pale blotches under the outer sides of eye brows. I'm not a big fan of the colour scene, either. White bloodwriting doesn't.. well...

(if someone thinks I'm being mean.... Not my intention. This is how I like my feedback served.)

@VC
Definately an improvement. Sometimes I think they made the original presets with the "random" button.

Anyways, here's Meri v2.

I turned to the toolset after some abortive attempts to make even half-decent looking male elves with the in game CC. These are my first attempts with the toolset but I'm quite pleased with how they turned out so I thought I'd post them here since many of the designs in this forum inspired me when making them.

I wanted my elves to recall those from British folklore of the past few centuries (pre-Tolkien); whimsical tricksters but not necessarily malevolent, with a child like appearance.

Also, Zevran mentions something about elves being considered 'beautiful' by humans. I thought it strange therefore that almost the (male, in particular) elves in game are damned ugly. My elves were going to look attractive.

My first city elf warrior, Xerav:

After I played through the game with him, I made a Dalish elf, Tamlyn (named after an elf from a Scottish ballad - presumably Tamlen, your companion in the Dalish origin, is also named after this ballad). He's a rather shy and gentle soul since I got fed up with all the Dalish seemingly being snarling wolverines.

Only thing I would change on those 2 is nudging the chin up a bit :) Otherwise they are good! And I share your look on elves. Especially the "they should look beautiful" part ;P

yes, the chin I think should be nudged up a bit.

Elves always have to be beautiful. no other way...

I agree with Viruscat on the chin thing, but it's a very good male elf. I can never make any good males, especially not elven ones :P

@
Presence Your feedback is well appreciated. What you mention as pale blotch .. can it be you mean the eye make up ?? *lol* :D I'm not sure what bloodwriting means, but I will try a more natural look: The nose is al ready under construction.
Meri2 looks not bad - I liked the Version 1 more

@Hejira good male elves *Thumbs up*  I really loved to play my Therron - made with IG CC only and he was hella handsome :) ( he is to see in my Character Album )

@VirusCat the male elf preset is very fine work :) I gave my endorsement earlier anyway -

@Hejira As someone who also makes male elves with longer faces, I still have to agree with the chorus of those suggesting nudging the chin up a bit (although by doing so, you may need to play with the jaw/chin width slider as well). As a personal preference, I'd make the additional suggestion of perhaps raising the lower lip a little as well (but again, that's probably just me).

@LadyAly - Hopefully first in to say, this is an improvement. I like the high cheekbones and well defined features. Really fits (at least my idea) that classical elf look.
