My latest. I only know that the creature behind him is a
miniature giant space hound.
Certain things will be changed on the
final version. I'm planning to play origins and awakening with this
one.. Well, I know it's been my intention with the last 10 characters or
so...
BG-chars is a popular theme, eh? ;P

You did it well tho!
@yh
They eyes are too non-squinty for my taste, but otherwise, yep she's my thing ;D

Interesting - never played it - Dragon Age is my first one of this sort of games I played.
@y.h. much better with the lighter eye-shadow - I guess to make it more squinty you have to use toolset again ?

To be honest, my "Minsc" pales in comparison to the real thing... It's kind of frustrating, I can't get so much character to him.
I'd like to hear (read
He's supposed to become a fiery mage, who values power and pretty women, and is focused on fire-based magic to such extent that fire is a part of his persona (Azar Javed influence). The Circle mages took notice of his temperament combined with inborn fire magic abilities, and placed a magical serenity symbol with soothing properties on his face. It is enough to keep him serene in most normal situations. When his fierce nature breaks free from the tattoo's effect, you can find him by following the trail of burned corpses.... In combat he will rely on fire spells a lot, but also employing shapeshifting skills and dual weapons.
What would you change about him (to make him match the description and look good)? Scrapping is not an option.

redid my casteless. removed part of the tattoo, and changed it to blue, 'cause that color's awesome. softened up the eyes a touch as well. chin up a tad?

Dalish warrior

Dalish rogue

City elf warrior (and the only character that I've completed Awakening with so far)

City elf rogue

Loosely-based on Bruce Wayne

A rather different-looking Liselle

Modified Bella

I've played around with a number of cosmetic mods, including ones made by Dracomies/Petehog, Bidelle, Pineappletree, and two characters are sporting haircuts from tmp7704's tucked hair mod (and likely a few other modders whose names I've momentarily forgotten). As a bonus (link only, to stay in the spirit of this thread), I've put some of those same mods to use for a character that I'd probably submit to the Ugliest Character thread: Glossy lips and realistic eyes aren't enough to compensate for this one

@ YH - She's perfect now, I really can't see how you could improve the design tbh, except maybe darkening her eyebrows a tad? they seem to blend in a bit with her tattoo's.

@Tattercloak Another reason to envy people with the toolset. - I like all of your Chara's beside the City Elf rogue. Her face seems unbalanced - Eyes too high. But Bella is absolutely stunning !
@mochen What shall I say ... I hate this hairstyle, but again you got it to work on a Char. Maybe the *round* face style, which is so unique for you, let it work.

tattercloak: I like that version of Bella, what hair is that? your characters are good, but I think the proportions are a bit off sometimes. the CER I think it was, needs a thinner jaw, and maybe a higher chin.

@mochen The tattoos for both of my Dalish characters are from PAngel Tattoos and I've probably changed the hair and tattoos on both characters about a half dozen times each by now (I initially tried a toolset tattoo and then the trailer warden tattoo on the rogue and a number of others before settling on simple designs for both).
@LadyAly I'll tinker around with the city elf rogue and maybe try altering the facial proportions a bit. I think the problem is that I tried to stick a bit too closely to some human proportions (eyes are approximately halfway down between the top of the head and the bottom of the chin and lined up roughly with the top of where the ears are attached to the head) but that hairstyle does throw some things off. The other problem is I was intentionally trying to create a somewhat androgynous character.
I'll probably continue playing around with the proportions in any event. That's the problem with the toolset: I'm seldom satisfied so I continually tweak and revamp the characters (most of the ones shown are the 3rd or 4th revisions). Thanks for the feedback, folks.

@mochen
Your Leliana's face is fine, but I find it hard to see her as Leliana; I suppose I'm so used to vanilla/Redesigned faces.
@yasu
Your dwarf lady just screams "casteless!!!" I agree with mochen that they brows could be tad darker, though she is fine the way she is now.

@mochen: Leliana is sweet, but IMO the hairstyle is... too much. She herself and the makeup are so very pale, that she seems crushed under that orange-reddish curtain. Or maybe it's just the fringe that bothers me, I can't really tell. I bet she'd look even better with her normal short hair (or a variation thereof)
I hate the fringes of most of the hairstyles, btw. The only decent fringe is Morrigan's, and I never use that because I hate running around like a Morrigan look-alike.
@ YH: That sure is one badass dwarf! Darker eyebrows would surely do the trick - or more defined eyes (kohl?)
@ Presence: Sure you don't want a scar-free version? Or maybe just try out one or two single, very prominent scars? It's just that now they seem to blend in with his wrinkles... Don't get me wrong, he's fantastic (and this is coming from an avid Minsc-fan^^) - it's just a thought.

@ Caladhiel, LadyAly - I was never completely satisfied with the vanilla characters look, and whilst petehogs mod is very nice, still not quite what I wanted. So I set about remaking all the companions myself. I only finished Leliana, Anders and Morrigan...the rest are still WIP so I may get round to finishing them one day. Ok, here's a pic of my Leliana again. The face is exactly the same but with the more traditional hairstyle. .Which is best?

Just personal opinion but this one 'feels' much better overall, really lovely. I think the other haircut was drawing attention from the face, and the texturing on it is so... translucent, it just felt off, somehow. Or just not blending well enough with rest of the game graphics.mochen wrote...

EDIT: Link to a bigger pic
@mochen
I can't even describe how much better she looks with that more traditional hairstyle.

@ Presence: Personally, I like the right picture best. Really good! In the middle picture he looks a bit sickly; and as for the left picture, I just can't figure him having the tribal tattoo with that huge blotch already on his forehead

presence: thank you
mochen: the original hair is definitely the better choice. I think her paleness / skin complexion works against her, though. I'm very much used to her eyes being blue-ish, but *shrug*
yes, we criticize, and we may not always have constructive criticism, but its because we love you and your work
