@ Petehog: I like your latest elf addition, she looks very innocent and kind. I can't really tell if you've added any blush to her, but she almost looks like she should have rosey cheeks. Merely a suggestion, something to play around with, maybe? :)

Your middle elf is stunning. I think she ranks up there as one of my favorite elf designs I've seen.

@ Caladhiel First I just want to note that your new avatar pic is super cute with that hairstyle and I just cannot do away with the wrinkles, that's asking too much! lol It shows some in my other designs but I'm just more partial to mature looking characters, I've played enough JRPGs riddled with pubescent plucky heros and walking headshots to sort of shy away from the young and beautiful look. Also no Hilda is actually a completely different face and eye shape from Astyth. Moving on though as a whole I dig your approach on Morgrim, for some reason people tend to not use black or dark colors for eyes for some reason. I used black eyes myself before, it works for certain looks I'd say.

@skcm Hmm not sure so I'd like to release any files on Hilda I think, there are some things I'd rather keep to myself. :/

That's good advice. I currently have the blush set very low. I think I'll crank it up a bit. I'll probably choose re1, ro1, or pi1 and crank up the percentage.

And thanks for the compliment. I am honored as you are an excellent artist yourself.

@Petehog I agree completely with Schratty that middle elf is fantastic she looks great. With that hairstyle did you find that It worked much better with darker colours as opposed to lighter? My own experiments with it started using the dbl tint but as time has gone on I've steadily darkened it. Also it might just be blurring from image compression but something about the eyes look a little off like the lashes are too long or the wrong texture.

As for the first elf she looks good but I always find that elves have difficulty supporting really long hairstyles their faces tend to be very narrow and that leaves a lot of room between the hair mesh and the face. I always feel it looks a bit wonky and short hair works better.

I really like that hairstyle too. Maybe it's because I loved playing Baldur's Gate and I thought Jaheira was pretty cool. I also agree that darker colors work better for the Jaheira hair. I tried blonde but I found it doesn't look good in the Kokari wilds or in the Dalish forest. Darker colors for the hair works great.

Regarding the first elf. I agree with you. I took your advice and made her hair shorter. I also added some blush as recommended by Schratty .

@ AvatarHunter: The avatar pic is my current HN - thought I'd give the warrior class another go.^^ As for pubescent heroes: it's not that I have anything against mature-looking characters, far from it; it's just that the concept of all the origins is based on the fact that your PC is young, and everytime I started a game with an older-looking PC I was put off pretty soon (Awakening is an exception, of course, since there's no saying how old an Orlesian GW commander is meant to be).

@Petehog: I think your Dwarf lady is gorgeous! The colour combination is on the spot, really well done! :) The only thing that bothers me a little about your designs is that they all have almost the same features: the almond shaped eyes, the heart-shaped face, the well-proportioned nose and lips... it's very apparent when seeing three of your ladies together.^^ Of course the designs are great though, there's no questioning that! ;)
P.S. The short hair suits her a lot better! :)

@klarabella I think she looks great much better than any Dwarf I can do, I love that hairstyle it looks great on pretty much any character. The only nitpick I can think of is her eyes one pic might not be enough to make a firm call but they seem a wee bit big, prehaps a bit of squint might help?

Alrighty, I am back.  Be prepared for a wall of shots, but below you will find 2 renditions of my dwarf, Rastan.  Basically, I just made a dwarf as I envision them:  gruff and not pretty.

@ Petehog: I think the shorter hairstyle suits her! Very nice work :)

@ klarabella: Very nice dwarf! The only thing I would suggest offhand is maybe raising her nose a bit.

@ Wyldsong: Wow, that's an impressive dwarf! I love the blue tattoos, his eyes and those scars. Are the eyes part of a mod?

VirusCat: She's cute, yet also looks either depressed, or painfully ill. :(

Gerdr's looking good. I'm looking forward to those Pics.

Lithium Butterfly: Incredible! You managed to blow me away with your mighty power at Wall of Pic-ing! :o :P

Lumia looks like a wise, responsible expert Mage, possibly well on her way to becoming a First Enchanter.

Laelia looks skilled, focused, & fully capable of making you 'get the point' if ya try to hit on her without her consent. Especially if the offender is a Human. ^_^

Mnemes looks like she isn't afraid to do what she wants when she wants, & seduction & Coercion is an option for her, as is manipulation.

Lirum looks like she's going for small & cute. My cup of tea. I think even for small & cute, her Nose Bridge & Nose Size are a tad to small & could use a bit of size up.

Kanonno makes the pint sized Nose work better. With her cuteness & large, adorable Eyes, I bet she can Coerce with ease.

Kurou could use some Vampire Fangs, & the palest skin ya can find, but otherwise looks good.

Mormo's adorable! Though she could use some bigger meals. Do we really wanna be looking up her Nose? :P

Lael is stellar! :D

Xenobia looks great for the Warrior part, & she can go right ahead & have Alistair! I'll take Leliana! :P

Aeyr is completely utterly Epic! :o (1st Place!)

Creve, I think, would look creepier with Pale Skin, but is otherwise well done! I can sympathize with her lack of mercy towards kids, they can make rugrats of themselves sometimes! :P Just kidding. ;)

Cody looks great! I bet she would rock as a Dex Fighter type. Maybe someday, she can become the star of her very own 'Alternate History' Mod. Who knows?

Teyla's got character, & does a good job of looking her part.

Syyru, may you rest in peace, you look alright.

Your Zevran remake looks like after the events of DA:O, he managed to get more powerful, & years later, managed to become the next leader of the Antivan Crows. & he mighta become a bit crazed in the process. :bandit:

Aviena: Ella & Venesse both look great for their respective roles!

*snicker* um... excuse me, sorry about that. Did ya know that the boy main character of the Kingdom Hearts Series is named 'Sora'? :P With that aside, Sora is looking great & full of character! :D

Loria232: Elani's a vibrant, well done design! Awesome use of that Long Hair as well, even though it looks silly for the Ponytail to magically 'Phase' through the Staff.

AvatarHunter: Hilda looks like she's so wise, mature, & skilled for her age that she could be a Clan Chief at a young age!

drewj1988: I think the Hair Style's working oh her just fine, but then again, be cautioned that i'm a sucker for Tomboy Gals.

Caladhiel: Morgrim looks worthy of being the Leader of his Clan! But someone might wanna tell the guy that his Armor's trying to eat his Beard, or his Beard's trying to eat his Armor. ;)

adneate: Anabelle's adorable! Yet it seems like there's shrewdness & Cunning hiding behind those cute Eyes...

Petehog: Your trio of ladies are perfection as usual!

klarabella: Belbara looks wise, responsible, & dependable!

Pant pant... pant... *heave* ... ... Whew! That was a mouthful! This Threads rolling along like a mighty River!

For the benefit of both new Thread dwellers, & those that don't have time to hunt for my recent Creations, i'll give them an Encore!

Dugon Aeducan rebuilt:
<-------- That way.

Stern, serious, responsible, & brave, Dugon is my Avater Representative to represent me here on the Forums, my Top Main, & my Top Warrior Character. He's gonna go 2H Axe, my favorite Weapon. Rest of Spec is undecided. (As of the time of this Post.)

Elocyn Brosca rebuilt: (Still don't see how I can do any better on the Hair.)

A Duster through & through, very brave for a Rogue, Tomboy, & unusually aggresive for Rogue-kind. Doesn't think charging head-long into Death's Maw is an intelligent thing to do, but she's no coward either & doesn't shy away from Combat. Quite a rough & tumble scrapper, she dreams of someday being able to masterfully Dual-Wield 1H Axes. Still got some thinking to do on her Spec, but Assassin & Duelist are both very likely. My top Rogue.

Tayo Surana:

A spirited, spunky Tomboy who hates the Templars, isn't very sociable due to the double-whammy of being both an Elf & a Mage. She hasn't ever known family or friendship, & thus is a bit selfish, but she's no fan of Evil either. She largely only thinks of herself, & will only give any help to those who treat her well first. Likes pretty lights, Lightning, & animals. Her dislikes would be a very long list indeed, but her top 2 dislikes are Templars & not being free to live her own life her own way. She's going Lightning, Fire, & Spirit, & i'll plan her further from there. My top Mage.

@Schratty

For human male designs, this is what I would recommend to give him a slightly more masculine appearance. What I've discovered about Dragon Age lighting for blonde and light colored hair, is that you want to make the value called "Brow and Stubble Hair color" a bit darker than the hair on top of his head. I'm not exactly sure why it is but I think it has to do with the lighting. When you make it a bit darker, it makes the design come together. Otherwise the eyebrows, mustache and stubble disappear in that they blend with the skin and the harsh lighting of the Kokari Wilds.

Also, I would say to make a very small adjustment to the cornea of the eyes. There is a value called "Debug Cornea Larger/Smaller" on Section 6: Eyes.

If you move the slider a little bit to the left, it would make the eyes fit a bit better.

Also if you're looking for a slightly more grizzled look, increase the value called "eyebags". This is optional depending on what age the character is supposed to be.

Finally go to Section 2: Part Selection

Choose Lash textures: pm_ulm_bas_0d

Then go to Section 6: Eyes

and put eyelash fan at 0 and eyelash length at 0.

I hope this helps.

Going to try and address a few things here...

@Schratty - Thanks for the compliments. The eyes are a texture from Bidelle's I do believe (or maybe Plane's Traveller). As for Strom, looking good on that latest version. Definitely more masculine. Good work!

@Tyrax - Thanks=) He is indeed ready to get bloody. Your designs overall are looking good, and good lord...that ghoul..kill it! Kill it! Creepy little thing...

@Pete - Good looking elf there, and I think the changes overall improved the design. Good stuff.

@klarabella - Been seeing a few good looking female dwarfs recently, guess we can add another to the list. Good work.

As for any designs before page 66...I have not had time to skim everything...I'll have to go back and look later, it sounds like there has been some good stuff happening as of late.

@yasuraka.hakkyou: Thankyou!  The dalish origin is actually one of my favourites. Can't figure out why everyone hates Tamlen so much. :wizard:

@Avatarhunter: Thanks for the feeback! I was actually  going for a Rica resemblance with Ella - thanks for noticing it.  I am especially loving what you did with Hilda's eyes. She looks kind of....world-weary, I suppose. Quite fitting considering Orzammar's political landscape. Well done. :D

@Adneate: Thanks for your kind words. :)

@Viruscat: So much dwarf love!! Gerdr really looks like she means business. I'm not sure how keen I am on the heavy eye makeup, but both are very well designed and constructed. Skadi is super cute.  :) (I am assuming here that Skadi is the blonde one - not sure!!)

@Drewj: I actually think she looks very elegant with that hairstyle. I can't really make it work for my own characters, but it seems to suit her. Maybe it would look different from the front?

@Caladhiel: Thanks for the input. I'm not really happy with Venesse either - I'm going to find some time today to mess with her design a little. Morgrim is...awesome. Would it be going too far to call a dwarf sexy? He doesn't look old and wrinkly to me. The tattoo would annoy me after a little while, though. I've tried faded white tattoos with a few characters and they always end up looking like shiny scar tissue. Have you experimented with any other colours? The tattoo itself does round out his face well, though.

@Petehog: Lovely as always. Your first elf does look a lot better with shorter hair. I almost smiled back at that picture! :kissing: All three are very elegant.

@klarabella: Belle is very pretty, but she does have that don't-mess-with-me air as well. (And hooray for the dwarven proportions fix, right!? :o) Excellent choice of hairstyle, imo.

@Wyldsong: Is that a tattoo on his...scalp? That is...AWESOME! He really does look like an Aeducan warrior, which is more than I can say for most of my DNs.

@Schratty: Strom is quite a pretty boy. The subtle scarring is a nice touch.

@Tyrax: Thankyou. I actually -did- know who KH Sora was, but it didn't occur to me until after I'd started associating that name with my DE. And by that point I was just too attached to change it, hehe! :innocent: I'm quite a fan of your Dugon Aeducan. He for some reason makes me think of Scotland...hmm.

Anyway, I'm off to go check out tmp's new tucked hairstyles. Yay! <3 Keep up the good work all!

@Aviena - Yup, scalp tat. I posted another one a few pages back, my Evil Eyes Jack has a red dragon scalp tat, all thanks to the work of Wolfheart. Check it out:

And FYI - I like the designs you posted, but that Sora really caught my eye. Really good stuff there. Inspired me to try for a DE on my next creation.

I like the Dalish Origins over the city elf one.. And I think the dwarf commoner one kinda sucks, the noble one is ok, same with the human noble one, its ok. The mage Origins one is not too shabby.

Now I feel like to do the Dalish Origin one again lol

Wyldsong: Many thanks! & forget about Ghoulia getting killed, i'm considering getting her Played! It's bound to be hilarious! I'll make sure to get some Screenshots if I manage to get her play-ready! :D

Aviena: Many thanks for your Dugon praise! I didn't expect him to look Scottish, but I have no qualms with it. Maybe he can channel some William Wallace in battle against the Darkspawn!

I know how it feels to get attached to something & be unable to change it. :)

neppakyo: The Mage Origin, now that i've gone though it, I think was alright, but there's room for improvement, including but not limited to, the Origin needed to give us plenty of opportunities to kick Jowan, instead of it's current no opportunities for that. :P

The rest of the Origins, I have yet to play. If I get Ghoulia playable, i'll try real hard to get some Wedding Day Screenshots, & maybe i'll catch a kissing scene on Pic! :P

Salona's got Blizzard! I got to have fun with it & freeze 5-6 Darkspawn with it at once! On the one hand, it's awesome in both Power & Duration, on the other hand, it's given me my 1st Friendly Fire damage of the game, & before that point, I was doing so well at being careful, including with careful Cone of Cold aim. :pinched: Oh well, I don't know how I avoided Friendly Fire even that long. I'm no Zhuge Liang. :D

@ Tyrax Lightning: If you need any help importing Ghoulia into your game, I would be more than happy to assist. I need to see her in game; it must happen - it must! :)

And now I will apologize as I inundate this forum with some more designs.

First, I decided it was time to give Charlotte, my HFN a face lift:

Random toolset tomfoolery brought this about. He started out as something else and slowly became more and more Alistair-y. :/

@Tyrax Lightning I can't believe I'm going to help you get the abomination into the game but here I am go to tab 14. and change Export .mop file to true then right click on your morph's face and select post to local. Whatever it's called (Ghoulia.mrh I guess) it should show up in your overide folder in the sub folder called ToolsetExport as race_gender_whatever.mop (ef_Ghoulia.mop?) rename that as ef_cps_p01.mop and boom it replaces preset number one in the character creator. Seriously though that thing makes my kinda sick, but maybe that's the point.

@Schratty Charlotte looks good she's got great proportions but her face is sorta blank. I don't really know what kind of character your trying to make but right now she just kinda looks plain. I think her face could use a bit more character so to speak a slightly sterner look or slight smirk goes a long way to giving life to a face. I'm not a big fan of the look characters get by defualt it's a weird sort of perplexed, surprised or depressed look that always looks a bit . . . uncanny.

As far as random toolset guy goes he looks like some kind of crazy bizarro Alistair, that's really strange that he just manifested like that.
