@Arrtis

I had the same issue a while back too. I use imageshack. You don't have to send them your email. You just post the image and then use the following code to put them in:

http://thenexusforum...gends&do=bbcode

Also the toolset is very powerful and although it looks daunting at first...it is easy to pick up. It actually is very fun once you get the hang of it.

Well, here's a new design of a human male rendition. Not sure what NPC to place him under but here he is.

Schratty: Many thanks for the support! I'm not sure if Ghoulia can compete with the legendary 'Ugra', but I wonder if she's at least in her league? Goodness knows my 2 submissions at the time didn't stand a chance. (Gaublin & Korgan. May they rest in peace.)

Charlotte's hot!

That's incredible to make an Alistair look-alike with random tinkering. He looks like an Alistair remake. I think he would look better with thicker Eyebrows, then I think he's ready to Rock'n Roll! (It would look really interesting to see him & Alistair adventuring together. I bet they would look like brothers!)

adneate: Many thanks for the aid! I'll try to give that a try tomorrow! & yes, part of the point of Ghoulia is that gaming on hideous character can be hilarious! If ya don't believe me, hunt down & read the 'Ugliest Character Contest' Thread!

Arrtis: There are free Image hosting Sites available. Since I use Gmail, my Image Hosting Site of choice is Picasa 3. I use it mostly for the Web Albums, to use for Pic Posting, but it's handy. 2 other Image Sites I can remember is Photobucket & ImageShack. Hope I helped. We can help ya further once Image Site power is available to ya.

@Petehog He looks like a knight to me maybe one of the knights in Redcliffe or some of the random knights in Denerim. It's a shame so many of the NPCs use recycled designs, castle Cousland is the worst for this with it's compliment guard of clone troopers.

First of all good morning everyone(or night?)lol<3

@Lithium butterfly: "Cody is a Dualist of the noble Cousland family, betrothed to Teyrn Loghain at a young age, as she grew up her relationship with her parents and Loghain were strained, due to pressure on her families side,for the marriage to take place as soon as she became of age.Loghain too was reluctant as he still mounred the death of his beloved wife each day,and was concerned about his age, as he was much older than Cody.Despite her becoming a Grey Warden, Cody and Loghain managed to nurture their feelings for eachotherwhich eventually blossomed into true love, resulting in their marriage occuring during the landsmeet. With Loghain as King of Ferelden and Cody at his side as Queen,the Archdemon was defeated after Alistair made the ultimate sacrifice,deciding that his life was no longer worth living.The blight had ended and Ferelden prospered in the years after with it's new King and Queen.(Not how the story goes I know...but that's how it goes in my head dammit >.<):"

Sitting here grumbling about new mods getting 20 comments direcly while my NPC mod seems to be totally ignoooored. GRUMBLE xD But I do make it for my own sake.. and the couple of people that truly likes it ^^ <3

Now I have some time, so here's the comment-roll!

@Lithium Butterfly
I can understand your desire to post all those chars directly when you found the thread, but it would have been  easier to try and show maybe 2 per page ;)
Just a friendly hint :D

Now for the comments on the chars!
Lumia - I would personally fade the tat a bit, but from what I can see she's a solid design. I adore chars made without mods :)

Laelia - Wonderful elf! I can't stand the hairstyle, personally, since it's just too static (damn you Bioware xD) but the style souits her :3

Mnemes - Oh no not that outfit again xD Apart from that maybe she would look better if she wasn't smiling all the time? I understand what you were after but it looks pretty unnatural as it is now. Just a tiny smirk would suit her much better. Apart from that - Loving the idea, the chosen tat, the general face and such <3 The big eyes suit her ^^

Lirum - That hairstyle could have been SOOO cute but instead it sticks out alot on the sides and now it looks like a helmet :(
Elfish looking elf tho, and that's never wrong! You're really good at making characters with special traits like "shy" or "selfish" and Lirum sure looks shy and friendly! Loving the descriptions, that you actually have a thought behind all the chars and don't just pump out a bunch of NPCs without personality :)

Kanonno - Those eyes doesn't suit her :/ She's so pretty and adorable, and then you look into her eyes and see some sickly looking iris/pupil amd go "waaaah!". With another eye texture, something with more depth and soul, this little girl would look extremely good!

Kurou - One of my favs so far ^^ Please post more pics of her :3

Mormo - Eeep, same here! I have a soft spot for dwarves and this one looks so.... huggable! :D More pics of her too, please :D

Lael - I feel the scar + tat + odd eyes may be too much. Also her face looks a bit too long. Loving the concept!

Xenobia - This womans face is also a tad too long and again... the eyes. The overall look and idea is solid tho ^^

Aeyr - Here the eyes fit, obviously ^^ Lovely little lady!

Creve - Fitting to her description :3

Cody - Moar pics ploxx :D

Teyla - Pretty :D I like your elves :3

Syyru - NOOOO did you DELETE my fav? O: T_T She was so pretty!

PUUUUUH

@Aviena
DWARVES! <3
Ella is pretty, but a little too generic for my taste. Small nose, cute eyes, prefect features, you know? Adorable tho ^^
Venesse is more my taste! Maybe it's the screenshot but she looks so... determined! <3
Sora is nice, or.. no.. xD The design looks awesome, and the char herself looks determined and stern!

Skadi is the commoner, the dark one ;) Gerdr is the blonde noble :3 But I understand the comment anyway ^^

@Loria232
Congratz on making the Dark Elf-look work for Elani! It's hard in DAO. Wondeful screens and wonderful character!

@AvatarHunter
Thanks for the comment on Zhen and my little dwarves! Both dwarves have been through alot of tweaking earlier, now I just smacked a new hairstyle and makeup on Gerdr but Skadi's pretty much the exact same as before. It's good to have old files laying around sometimes ;)
Hilda is amazing. I was sceptical when I saw the CC-pic but in-game she's truly epic! Loooovign the profile-ish pic!

@Caladhiel
Thaaaanks <3
Morgrim looks amazing. Maybe a tad bit lighter eyecolor but a really solid dwarf-design!

@klarabella
Aaah, more pretty dwarves for the win! Adorable :3

@Wyldsong
He may not be pretty but he's DAMN handsome! One of the best male dwarves I've seen!

@Schratty
I like that Human Male guy :3 He's handsome, if a little "bland and normal" looking for my taste :3 It's just my personal taste of men, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with the design :3
The Alistair-ish man... not my cup of tea :P Charlotte on the other hand. Girl next door-pretty <3

@ Petehog: I like his cheeks ;) I agree with adneate that he would be suited as a knight.

@ adneate: Concerning Charlotte, thanks for the input, I'll definitely play around with infusing more "character" into her :) On the subject of "Bizarro Alistair" (that kind of reminds me of Sea Lab...and Superman...I like it!), the hair/stubble is one of the last things I put on a morph, so by that time I realized his facial features bore Alistair's resemblance, so I went for the gusto and stuck the same hair and stubble on him. That's probably what really exacerbates his Alistair-ness.

@ Tyrax Lightning: Well, I think Ghoulia's a very promising design, and just want her true hideousness to be seen by the world...in game, that's all :P Also, thanks for kind words on Charlotte. I'll definitely change the eyebrows and then my Bizarro Alistair will terrorize the real Alistair by marrying Anora (thereby stealing his birthright), allowing Loghain to live, and engaging in generally horndogish behavior (lookout Morrigan, Leliana, Gheyna, Bella, etc)!

@ VirusCat: Haha, I like bland and normal - like an accountant who gets into bar fights on the weekends...wait a second...hmmm ;P As for Bizarro Alistair, I just like his jaw...and his gaunt cheeks. Kind of my thing :P And Charlotte? Well, thank you! Yeah, I think it's going to be fun making her play kissy-face with the real Alistair ^^

 @Virus - Wow, thanks for the big compliment! Actually, I just played around this morning, and ran him through part of the dwarven noble opening, and I now find myself wanting to play him, which will distract me from finishing my last game...sigh...as for your NPC mod, hey, personally I am using quite a few of your designs.  You may not be getting a lot of comments, but you got endorsements, and it looks like mostly positive comments.  People are liking what you are doing, so bask in the glow=)
@Pete - I like the overall design, and he looks good if he is to be a random NPC, but if you plan on using him in a bigger role, then I would say maybe do a little something to make him more rugged, or make him stand out a bit more.  As is, he is already miles ahead of the current NPC knights and guards though.
@Yasu - I like Elissa quite a bit.  The coloring on the tat goes well with the overall design, and Rhaelyn is definitely looking the part of the rogue.  I approve.  If you can get another screenie to better show off your dark elf's eyes, I'd be interested to see, but still looking good.
Here are some action shots of Rastan:

Wyldsong: thankies :) Elissa is getting quite fun. with her fighting style and the armor she's in, she's basically the Black Knight. it's epic XD. But Rhaelyn is still my favorite character. you'd imagine such a festive armor set would be hard to sneak around in though XD.

Rastan's looking good, like the pic where he's doing an overhead swing down onto his enemies' chest the most.

yasuraka.hakkyou: Elissa looks beautiful in the 1st Pic & adorable in the 2nd Pic. Is this really the same person? Incredible! :o

Rhaelyn's lookin good as always. :)

Your Dark Elf looks like the kind of person you would be intrigued by in the day, but also the kind of person you would NOT wanna meet in a dark alley at night... :devil:

Wyldsong: Rastan's looking badass! :devil:

@drewj1988 I think she's coming along quite nicely there's a clear improvement from the previous interation. If your goal is to round out the face a bit it might help to actually bring the entire mouth structure upwards with the mouth down/up slider and the teeth down/up slider. This can help create a more rounded jaw and chin line and remove the slightly elongated look the base human female face comes with. Sangaril might also benefit from darker eye makeup and a darker shade of lipstick, her hair is very dark and her eyes are pretty dark as well but she has red eye make-up that's a bit of an unconventional combination. You shouldn't be discouraged if it takes multiple redesigns until your happy with a face, many of my designs are the product of 10 or more versions. Also some just never pan out the way you want, but that's not to say they were a waste, failed or abandoned designs can teach you a lot about what works and what doesn't in game. The most important thing is to continue to experiment and develop your own unique style, that is much more fulfilling than simply trying to be derivative of another designer and getting frustrated that you can't copy their faces perfectly.

I agree with this, & to add to it, as you're raising the Mouth & Jaw, also raise the Nose Height to match so the Mouth top & Nose bottom don't get married together. :)

Edit: *sigh*... Another day, another failed Proofreading that had to be fixed later. :pinched:

Here's a dwarf Legionnaire.

I would say dwarves are the easiest and hardest race to design. They're easy in that it doesn't take much effort to make them look cool. They're hard in that it's hard to make them stand out. It's almost as if Bioware had dwarves stand out by their facial hair or lack of it..rather than the facial geometry involved. So it's really hard to make a dwarf really stand out and look unique. I would say the easiest races to design are definitely female and male elves.

His cheeks seem to pop out too much to me (like he's flexing his cheek muscles or something). then again, I have no idea what I'm talking about in regards to proportions and such. most noticeable in the toolset pic. cool design though, if a little cookiecutter. I can see what you mean about the beards and such.

@drewj1988

Here are my thoughts on Sangaril version 2.

It’s hard to get a clear gauge on your character when she is in the Fade. You’d probably need to take another screenshot at a different location because the Fade blurs facial features and makes it hard for others to accurately see what can be fixed. So my advice here may be a bit skewed because I can’t see the picture correctly. If I get a different picture at a different location, I would be able to give more helpful advice. That being said, here are my thoughts.

First of all, from the screenshot you provided, it looks lik you have used the “elfa” texture with "fema". It is a difficult combination to work with. I typically use something else. Elfa can affect the facial geometry in negative ways. It can still be pulled off but each texture affects the geometry so it's something to take a note of. I would go "fema" all the way.

Second of all, the nose bridge seems a bit wide. In the toolset, you will find a value called “Nose bridge thin/wide”. I would make adjustments. This is optional as I am rather anal with proportions but it can improve the design.

Third of all, I can tell that you have a relatively high degree of “Jaw Square Shape”. You want to bring that number down to give her rounder features. Now, it’s not particularly necessary and it may negatively affect her “personality” but if you just want the proportions right, I would say to lessen the value to give her a more feminine appearance.

Fourth of all, bring the nose a little up. And bring the mouth up with it. About 2 to 3 clicks. I would say leave the distance of the chin intact. As it is right now, the mouth seems too close to the bottom of the chin. But if you bring the nose up and the mouth with it, it would improve the design. If the distance from the lips and mouth seems large, move it up one click.

Petehog: You did great with that Legionnaire, but I can see that horrid side-effect on the Cheek area caused by the Beard. Is it impossible to do anything about it even in the Toolset?

My Avatar Representative started out with a Beard in the original Build, & he spent months looking like a skull-headed elder. I sought to fix that once I could deal with him in-game or in the Toolset, but it took so long to build my new Computer, that I ran outta patience & switched to Stubble. I can't imagine my Main with a Beard anymore. I dunno if Beards are worth the trouble until BioWare finds a way for Beards to 'hug' the Face just like how Stubble does, instead of it's current looking like a Prop Shop Beard.
