I was nearly done with my 1st attempt at a looker in the Toolset, & I was adjusting the last Paremeter before I was gonna Save, & the Toolset FROZE on me!
I had to Task Manager shut it down... Is this common?

Yeah it can lock up on you at times, that's why it helps to save often and make multiple saves. It protects your work from crashes and from yourself.

Hmm this isn't really very accurate. The actual eye texture of BioWare eye looks like this:Petehog wrote...
Here's my attempt to draw a Bioware eye.
If you open up the toolset and open up any default Bioware eye, you'll notice that each eye has a pupil which takes up the entire structure of the eye..sort of as I've drawn above.
i've cranked up contrast and removed the effect colour blending has on it so the layout is more visible, but it's pretty much what it's like. As you can see, the pupil is pretty normal sized. Now, there might be something funny done with the shader that affects overall appearance of the eye on top of that, but since it's independent of texture work, it'll affect all eyes equally.It is probably my error for wording it wrong, but you are forgetting about the blending and changes to the luminosity of the colours introduced by the tint texture. Let me put it this way -- everything we see on our screens is made of three colours, too: red, green and blue. But the fact these three colours get composed together and shown with various brightness makes all the differenceThree colors..is frankly not enough.
Now of course, with the custom texture you do get better control over the exact colours and placement, that's perfectly true. I just brought that up because i think the default eye textures are actually more than adequate and capable of much more than people give them credit for. They were just never used to their full potential, even by their original makers.
Ah. Good point. You are absolutely right. I think that one of the challenges I've found with the toolset is that it's not as straightforward as other toolsets I've encountered..ie. GECK for Fallout 3, etc. So there's a lot that is left untapped because it seems to be in another language. But I respect everything that Bioware has done and really love thier work. Thier toolset is very powerful and robust. I just wish it was a bit more user-friendly. I find myself having to "trick" the toolset to make it do things I want to when it might be better for me to things the proper way.

Sure here's a quicker recap in step-by-step format.
If you only want the Textures then do this:
======================================
1. Double-click the folder called "Dragon Age Redesigned Version 7.1"
2. Double click Dragon Age Age Redesigned
3. Double-click Dragon Age Origins
4. Double-click Noncompanions
5. Double-click Dragon Age Redesigned Version 7.1.exe
6. Click Next
7. Choose the bubble called "Dracomies True textures V"
If you want to change all of the noncompanions
====================================
Do steps 1 through 6 as above
But this time choose between Recommended, Aesthetics and Enhanced Lore.
Here's an explanation of the versions:
Aesthetics is set for ideal proportions, anatomy and realism for Dragon Age NPCs.
Enhanced Lore is the Bioware originals but made to look more realistic. It does not contain much elf renditions and it is the most faithful to the lore of Dragon Age. The Enhanced Lore version took me about 2 months to redesign. It contains lore-specific designs for nearly 500+ designs.
Recommended is a mixture of Lore and Aesthetics. It contains all of the lore-specific designs from Enhanced Lore but with all elf renditions.
If you want to change companions
====================================
Do steps 1 through 3
but this time choose Companion NPCs folder
Then choose a companion and install the associated version.
There's a different version per character..ie there are 7 versions of Morrigan to choose from.
If you have installed Noncompanion changes, install Dragon Age Fixes right after it.
============================================================
"Dragon Age Fixes" fixes some things that I messed up on. It's basically a patch. You basically choose the same version that you installed before. So if you installed "Recommended", then you choose "Recommended" from the Fixes section. It fixes the Shianni eyes issue, etc.
Hope this helps. I am now updating this on my Description page.

@ VirusCat - Good grief! I don't think anyone will blame you for not commenting after all that!
@ Tyrax - Thanks for the comment on Svetlana, I was trying something slightly different with her and made her face a bit less rounded than I normally do. I'm glad it worked
It's really important to save your morph often in the toolset, I've had it crash on me a few times and it's really frustrating when it happens if you lose any work.

Well inspired from the tales of *1001 Nights* and Sheherezade I got the idea in vacation to try a persian like princess.
I used the following picture as direction and so I present Shazadi, I miss a veil or something like that - but I guess it will do with the black hair.
(( click on it for a complete big view ))

One thing I wish we had was more curly/wavy hairstyles. I think wavy hair would look really good on your character.
Perhaps I can make a polite request to one of the mod guru's? hehe

this would be indeed awesome, curly wavy hair in different length *sigh*
And I have to agree the eyebrow's are pretty difficult too - I guess there are only 5 / 6 in CC

LadyAly: Many thanks for the Ghoulia praise! It's still a kicker for me how I managed to make her look ugly from the side, & almost cute from the front at the same time!
Shazadi's completely adorable! I think even the big Eyes work on her! I don't see how she could get any better. She looks like she'd be capable of starting the game with already maxed Coercion! It'll be darn hard for Coercible NPCs to resist those adorable Eyes if Shazadi starts puppy-eyeing!
I'm headed for a rl friend's house for a few days. Be back soon.
Edit: Oops, almost forgot, i'm certain that the CC & Toolset seem to both have only 4 Eyebrows. I'm surprised a Mod hasn't dealt with this yet.

Thanks Schratty. That pretty much encompasses everything I wanted to accomplish with her:D

@Mochen - Svetlana is looking good. Although, and I can't think of a better way to phrase this, so hopefully it doesn't come out wrong or overly critical (because I do enjoy your creations), but she does seem somewhat plain for lack of a better word. Not sure what else to say, because any changes might completely alter the overall base design. Maybe some light makeup?
@LadyAly - For a straight toolset creation, I think you did an awesome job on the likeness. At first, I thought that "man those eyes are big", but then I took another look the RL pic, and yeah, that is about right. You just need wavy hair and you'd be set.
@Zeleen - If you get a chance, post some in game screenies. Sometimes CC shots don't do the character justice. It looks like you got a good foundation there, and the hairstyle with the whole look makes me think Norwegian for some reason.
