@ Duchell - I love that design! where did you get that hairstyle? I've seen it used a few times, but never bothered with it myself. But I'd like to give it a try.

@ Aviena - Catherine is my favorite. I think you should experiment with thinning the nose on some of the designs. It might make them appear more feminine.

@ Petehog - Grey stubble works best I think. He is a nice design.

I've been trying to put together a female warrior design. I wanted her to appear stronger and more forceful than my other female designs. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Schratty: I would say narrow the jaw a wee bit, and drop the chin a wee bit.

*snort* highly refined aesthetic sense? :P

mochen: hmm, great start, at least. odd coming from me I think, but I would lessen up on the tat. seems to detract from the design.

@ Mochen: Wow. That is one powerful-looking female! I like it; definitely a deviation from the soft, delicate girls that populate the forum (not that there's anything wrong with either :P )

@ Y.H.: That hurts, man. Ow! Just...just ow! Haha. Well, it looks like you're definitely winning this argument, but that's okay. I don't mind being the underdog ;) Thanks for the tips, btw. You're definitely better versed in elfy-ness than I :D

All righty. Grey stubble for Loghain it is.

Regarding your warrior, she looks very powerful and is well designed.

I think the tattoo works well. Maybe make the hair color a bit darker so that it blends with the tattoo. Whenever I use dark tattoos, I usually try to have dark hair that match the dark tattoo so everything meshes nicely together.
Also..and this is just for cosmetic purposes...give her some black armor or black leather. And have her don a "greatsword".  Just for fun, you can do the Respecialization to give her that ability to don a greatsword.

Great work as always Mochen. Glad to see you back. :wizard:

@ YH & Zeleen - Ok here she is with a lightened tattoo.

And here, with darker hair.

I really can't make up my mind which of the 3 is best actually.

@ Petehog - Thanks for the feedback! I like your idea of dark armour and greatsword! I will try and take some more shots of her later, but right now I think it's time to sleep.

As far as tattoo goes, the first version looks the best to me. It's a strong and distinctive design, the other two in comparison seem too 'busy' so to speak, making it harder to discern their pattern at a glance.

I try my best to keep up but you guys make it nearly impossible! However there are a few designs I really want to make a few comments on.

@Aviena Two things strike me right away about your elves, the first are their noses they seem a bit on the thick side prehaps trying a more slender pointed nose might help. A nose that seems to look too large or too wide for a face can overpower other features drawing the eye away from the whole to focus on one particular aspect. The other thing is the lips, they have very narrow lips and very large lower lips. Trying to balace the upper and lower lips can be important, since too much or too little can give a very unatural appearance. Lastly is the teeth sliders adjustments made to the mouth should also be made to the teeth, they should go up with the mouth and narrow with the mouth otherwise when a character talks their mouth seems to grow very unaturally. I think you've got very good base designs and if you work on those two problem areas I'm confident you'll have something really great on your hands!

@Schratty Elves can be difficult at times, but maybe I can help you out with this one. First of all I notice on a lot of you female characters they have a fairly neutral look. For many that I've seen it works quite well but I have a feeling this elf would look much nicer if you gave her a more powerful and commanding presence. Try about 0.15 to 0.25 of (06.)eye brow up and -0.25 to -0.35 of (12.)brow down. Also I'd suggest bringing the nose down just a little bit.

@Zeleen Another general suggestion I can make after seeing all your characters is similar to one I made for Aviena which is to balace your lips out. Using the mouth upper lip fat slider you can increase the size of the upper lip, since all your characters have fairly large pouty lower lips but very thin upper lips I'd strongly suggest using this slider to increase the size of the upper lip to be more proportionate to the lower. Hopefully that helps, you're doing good work keep it up!

@Mochen Darker hair with the lighter tattoo is definately the best one for me, It allows you to see the design as a whole rather than be drawn to one very specific feature. It's not empty praise when I say that I am truely amazed at your creativity, nobody can accuse you of "templating" your work every piece is unique and very well done.

@Noir201 A very dark character, you've really managed to blend all her make-up together she's great, well done!

@ Mochen: I'm partial to the lighter tattoo and the lighter hair color. But, then again, my judgment is suspect these days :P

@ Zeleen: Ariel is progressing nicely. Adneate's suggestions are more concise and helpful than anything I can think of at the moment :) Thanks for your input, btw!

@ Noir201: Nina definitely has an intense look. I really like what you've done :D

@ adneate: You are, as always, a wealth of great suggestions! I can only hope you've got some more designs just waiting to be posted, as I enjoy your work :)

Right now, I've just been focusing on turning out elven lasses (I'm not brave enough to attempt a male elf...yet). I will tinker around with my first design and test out the good advice I've received. In the meantime, here's elf lady number 2.

I plan on decreasing her blush intensity in v2, so that's one thing I need to change already :(

@Zeleen Ariel gets better day by day - I still think her lipstick color is a tad to dark. But the last Version of her is wonderful

@mochen Oh OH - well I prefer the light tattoo with the light hair. Since I'm a sucker for harmony I think this is what Petehog mentioned - it blends perfect together. If you keep up the dark hair you should keep the dark tattoo. She is strong looking - a real warrior. I adore your creativity really.

@Noir201 This gothic chick is phantaastic - its not easy to make such dark looking chars and let them looking good.

@Schratty Yep - The blush is definitive to intense. Maybe change her lips a bit - she looks so bitter in this Picture.

I would like to give you more helpfully advices - but I'm still whining about the non existing Toolset.

I would try to create wavy hairstyles - and -- :( forget it.

Thanks for all the compliments - I'm proud of my CC Chars :)

*Independence day* Hello boys! (& girls!) I'm baaaaaaaaack!!! */Independence Day*

More exemplary work while I was away! It took me 1/2 a day to read up on the stuff from my last Post to now!

Zeleen: I had similar trouble with More Hairstyles. It turned out that to access the 'More Hairstyles' Hair files, you gotta go to the 'Hair' Field, & when ya get the File List with the Hair, there's a 'Filter' Line with a drop-down Arrow. Click that Arrow, & select the other Filter type that ya find that's not the one selected by default. This will show you a new List of Hair Files, & the 'More Hairstyles' should be among them. When they're placed onto the Morph, brace yourself, they're gonna look wrong. No worries, I learned from fellow Forumites here that it will look right in-game. I vouch for this being true, via my 1st successful Toolset Morph, Ghoulia Tabris:

An example of the More Hairstyles Hair looking wrong on the Morph:

& yet, Ghoulia works just fine in-game:

@Petehog The black Confessor robe is awesome. BUT -
and this is a really big BUT - this isn't a gothic make up.
She has a bit darker eyeliner and lips - but this isn't gothic.
Here are some links to *real* goth make up style

wickedwears.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/11/gothic-art.jpg

http://s.bebo.com/ap...04/17/mana2.jpg

http://2.bp.blogspot...c_Moonlight.jpg

The goth chicks here around having mostly some tattoos on her cheek, eyes often with tears or like faded eyeliner - and if not at least nearly black lips and piercings. Very often they using spider webs, cross or skulls for a neck Tattoo.
Gothic Make Up is a very dramatic look, whitened skin and dark colores, often in comparison to a strong red or pink color in hairs - or messed up black hair.

@ Petehog: That's a crying shame about the armor mod. Although, it looks like the main difference between his version and the original is trimming down the armor some to accentuate the female body more. Still, it makes a huge difference.

As for the robe, hmm, it almost looks brown, or like a really deep burgundy. Probably just the lighting, though. I think the make-up changes work well with it, however. It's consistent with what I perceive as being "goth". I consider it "classic goth" :D

And just as a side note, I have a greater appreciation for anyone who can pull off a good elf (people like yourself).

@ LadyAly: Thanks for the pointers! Will definitely look into both suggestions.

Edit: Elf 2v2; Raised eyebrows, turned down the blush intensity and increased the upturn on the corners of her mouth

@Duchell Darius is the old *don't mess with me * Type  - good work. The only thing I would change is the color from his hair to a more greyish shade.

Yeah youre right, that color is a bit too 'shiny', but I think I'll still want them to be white...
My intention was to make him look old for his age not just... old  :'
Thanks for the advise :D

mochen wrote...

Well, and Im glad you like it :D ... The hair is called 'Nero hair', I think, but unfortunately Nexus is down at the moment, so I cant post a link right now :(
At first I wasn't convinced by that hairstyle either, but I really need to first try something before judging. Turned out to be a great addition to the toolset :) ...

That warrior looks absolutely stunning o.o ... I dont seem to be able to create such strong and feminine characters.
I think I like the dark haired version better, but the color is still a bit too cold for my taste. I would use a warmer black. brown-black?
And theres something I wonder ... how do you use cornrows on a female character? :o

------------
So there's no one who knows how to create new skin complexions? .___.

Petehog: I have to agree with the others, for a more 'Goth' look, you're gonna need to heavy up the Make up, maybe in a way comparable to Salona. The dark look's lookin cool otherwise!

Schratty: I think the Lower Lip is a bit too poofy &/or big compared to the Upper Lip, aka the 'Morrigan Effect'. After that's adjusted, she's ready to go. Optionally, it might be worth a try to see if ya can find a Blush color that's a little darker a red to match the Hair, but i'm not sure whether or not this is needed. I don't know my Blush, being a guy.

@Petehog I remembered you have done once a pretty good blond goth girl - and I found them

She is nearly the perfect Goth girl with the Amy outfit. Give her Black hair and black lips and she is ^_^ Or add instead of the rose a black Tattoo on her neck :)

mochen: I think LadyAly said it, but (on the powerful warrior), either go dark hair and tat or light hair and tat, Petehog mentioned it blending together better? bleh, tired, might not make sense / quote right.

Tyrax: why hasn't Ghoulia been exterminated yet?! :P I kid.

Schratty: you're gettin' there with the elves. I'd say narrow the jaw a bit, move the eyes a bit closer together, and then up a little higher.
