@ _Loc_N_lol_: He's a very nice base, however, I have a few suggestions that might help you achieve a tougher look. I would suggest 1) giving him some facial hair 2) roughing up his complexion (blend with the dwarf skin or something else with heavy wrinkles) 3) putting a little bit of squint on his eyes :D

Schratty: Many thanks for the info! I assume I have to turn a Morph into a Preset if a Test Character is my 1st ever Log in a particular Origin till I get that dummy log Saved, then I can just Morph-swap as needed from there. I figure Preset 8 is the best candidate for this. It's a just-in-case kinda thing since i'm still a Morph Novice. I'm trying to be careful, just like how one would wanna be real careful if they're an apprentice of Magic.

_Loc_N_lol_: He looks like a 1st time success! He looks the part of an Arl or Bann!

Widened the Jaw & Chin, tweaked the Nose, eliminated the Ear Outward Rotation, & Eliminated the 'Elf Ears' Slider setting. Tattoo is temporarily offline until the Face is debugged... aka spiffed up.

@Loc_N_Lol - I second what Schratty mentioned - he is al ready a promising base :) Keep up the work
@Zeleen I see you getting better day by day.
Your Dalish has a tad of a long face - or lower her eyes a bit- but she is beautiful al ready.
Leliana is hard to comment from the side
but I
@Tyrax I have no idea about the Toolset, but your elf looks still a bit similar to the ghoula :P

@Petehog i will give a drow a try only with CC - just for curiosity if I can mange it

First try during lunch break ... The Arcane Warrior SanAya looks not bad - will post some Pics after passing the Fade for better lightt. I don't like glossy eyes, nore the thin hairstyle - but for a drow it looks right

Posted Image

@Petehog I see what you mean about the dwarfs -  I would call it a great improvement if that could be changed Posted Image
the Beard is a very annoying thing - even in the CC - it can destroy the whole work if you make a dwarf.
They are anyway still the hardest characters to do for me  Posted Image

but I figured out why I was having so much trouble with dwarven males. When you use the toolset, the beards reset the cheeks and the face. It's something that's pretty annoying. I hated howthe cheeks, mouth, lips would all change and the beard would reset all my work.

I finally figured out how to get that shyt out and make the faces the way I always wanted it to look like.

It's embarrassing that it took this long for me to figure this out. But this is pretty huge because it was a huge limitation before.

If you look at the cheeks below, the cheek is a structure that is normally not allowed.

So... when are you going to tell us how to remove that problem?
Does it work for humans, too?

desprite my fear for being ignored a third time, I'd like to repeat my question:
Can anyone explain to me how to create new skin complexions/textures for the toolset?
(and yes I know theres so much traffic in this thread, of course I cant expect everyone to read every post :) ... but I'll keep trying)

@Duchell interesting chap - experienced warrior. The only thing I would probably add to him would be some stubbles.
Sadly I can help with your question - out of my possibilities.

and....? Feel free to share this discovery with us

@ Duchell - Try posting your question on the toolset forum, thats where most of the modders hang out.

@Everybody: Thanks very much for the comments!  It's getting pretty late here, but I'll do some commenting of my own tomorrow. :D

I haven't taken another try at the elves yet, but I've tweaked Catherine's nose and jaw, and here's (hopefully!) the final result:

The new tints are generated using the Toolset, specifically:

File -> New -> Material
you can follow this tutorial how to create new tint: http://social.biowar..._existing_items

except you will be creating a tint of type "Skin Tint" rather than "3 Channel Tint". Skin tints are simpler, as they only have single colour channel and specular colour channel. You also don't need to mess with any 2da files to create them (so that part of the tutorial also doesn't apply) simply after you create and export your tint file ("post selection to local") it should become available in the Toolset.

hth.

Zeleen: Violet's hot! I think she has a tad too much Overbite. That's about it. I've learned here about the purpose of Overbite making youth, but it might still be going out a tad too far & breaking the appearance of the Mouth area.

This version of Leliana's cute! But We need more Screenies from more angles to get more symmetry gauge.

Ariel's lookin good, but it looks to me like her Eyes might be a tad too high, it might be worth a try to lower them a tad & then lower the Brows by the same amount to match.

Petehog: I think the Nose is a tad too low, that's about it.

I've heard of various ways to try to fix the 'Beard Bug', but I didn't know there was one that actually worked. BioWare dropped the ball on the Beard Implementation. I went for Stubble.

LadyAly: I still need more backup in how to make lookers. I'm not denying it.

SanAya looks like Frost Icinged Chocolate! The Hair is fiercely clipping the Ears, I wonder if there's a Tucked version of that Hair? & the Mouth might be a tad too small compared to the rest of teh Face. She's got potential.

Duchell: Logan's great! He looks done!

Aviena: If you're going for 'cute', then Catherine's ready to go. If you're going for 'beautiful', then the Mouth Width, Nose Bridge & Nostrils might need a couple more clicks up in size.

@Aviena  I love Catherine - a Char with a lot of personality

@Tyrax Yep I agree - it was the first attempt to make a Drow - this is second try with some changes and she looks al ready   better.
And far as I have seen through there is not this long hair as tucked .. I still want wavey hairstyles - long and middle *sigh*

@ LadyAly - That is a cool design. The second one is better I think.

@ Aviena - I like her. That is a nice face. I think you made a good choice with the hairstyle. It suits her well.

@ Petehog - I really like your elf design. She actually reminded me of my elf Selina, I posted her quite a while ago, then revamped her.

edit: LadyAly you made me want to transform one of my designs into a drow :P hehe

@mochen Thank you :) I'm still not really satisfied. But if you search for Drow Mage Pictures it will show you long white hair, dark skin, very pointed ears and longer faces - not as fragile as the normal elf.
But mostly they using very less cloth - I will use armor which someone hates ;)
Maybe I try another preset, too

@ Tyrax Lightning: The only problem I found with .mop files is that they distort certain features (namely the nose). So, keep that in mind if you decide to make an .mop out of your morphs :)

Anri v 2.0: The chin looks better :D However, I would suggest softening her facial features - making them less angular by rounding our her jaw. I would also recommend that you move her eyes a smidge closer together (like .05 or so). You might consider lessening the upturn on the corners of her mouth so that she just has a subtler pleasant look. As always, you're free to ignore me :P

@ Zeleen: Wow! You're really getting the hang of this whole toolset thing :D I would, however, suggest raising both Violet and Ariel's jaws just a little bit. Great work, nonetheless!

@ LadyAly: Your second drow is a nice improvement! You might consider raising her chin a few clicks, however. Still, nice job!

@ Duchell: Logan is very handsome, but I will agree with LadyAly that he could probably use a darker stubble :) I really like your choice of eyes and scars - very nice touch!

@ Aviena: Catherine is beautiful. I think you've nailed it with this version - I wouldn't suggest changing anything :)

@ Mochen: I like that Selina has a sly look about her (I think it's mainly the eyes that do it). Very pretty :D

LadyAly: That did it! I think she's done now.

mochen: Selina's a beauty!

Your Drow guy looks like he could be LadyAly's Drow gal's husband!

Schratty: Many thanks for the Anri feedback! I was starting to worry that my V2.0 Pics had gone completely unnoticed or that people were giving up on me.

Sad Panda looks like he's ready to go. I don't see any more room for improvement!

Petehog: Drizzt is so cool, we don't need Loghain anymore!

Sorry I haven't been around much, work is really busy thesedays. Just want to say I'm dead impressed with everyone's work.

Schratty - I gotta say some of your designs are really impressing me. Steffi is an amazing bit of work.

Mochen - Some of your designs are just so incredibly badass lately! Yet interspersed with some amazing beauties. Amazing, I am very jealous of your talent.

AvatarHunter - Well, lets just say I haven't seen a bad design from you.

Sorry I don't have time to comment on everyones stuff, it's just at a glace these peeps designs caught my eye.

Here's a new dwarf gal I've been working on. Her name is Jeanette, she's supposed to be very young looking.

meathook: She's a cutie! But there's room for improvement, I think it may be worth a try to widen the Nose Bridge, Nostrils, & Mouth a bit. I know how it feels to wanna go for the small, cute, 'button' Nose, but Dwarven Noses still need to be a tad on the large side to work on a Dwarf. Take my Elocyn: (Who also went 'button' Nose.)

Elocyn Brosca
Posted Image

This is how I imagine a Dwarf equivalent of a 'button' Nose. It still needs to be a tad large to work on a Dwarf though, then it's a 'button' Nose by Dwarf Standards. It's hard stuff to handle, us Humans have trouble thinking outside our own proportions. Even on Elocyn, I still mighta pushed my luck, (especially on the Nostril Width) but she looks cute to me, & I still consider her done. :) (Careful not to cross her though, she's a scrapper! ;) :P) Too small a Mouth also won't make sense on a Dwarf, for they're stocky creatures, so they don't have the same Ratios as us Humans. Their Ratio compared to ours is more skewed toward their Width, compared to us being more skewed toward Height. Hope that makes sense.

Now with all that said, I hypocritically can still keep buggering up on proportions for non-humans too. It's always good to have additional points of view for aid, because, like I said, thinking outside our own proportions isn't easy for us Humans. :wizard:
