I did use the HNF Cousland Resemblance Mod at DAN but I tweeked it a little. Her Neck did come out way to thin though, but I already made her and uninstalled the toolset, lol oh well:

@ TMP0774:

Oh thankyooooooooooooooo

@ Petehog:

Is there a reason why you want to remake Alistair? He doesn't look like a dept store mannequin reject like Morrigan, or little miss piggy like Leliana. I guess you're trying to make him younger?

@ Tattercloak:

Umm... version 6 looks better. Sowwy.

I think I've went through the rest of the characters about five or six times. Alistair is the one guy I've always had the most difficulty with so I'd thought I'd give it one more shot.

@Mlai00 No worries, that's why I keep tinkering. Version 7.5 (the changes weren't exactly major) should be a bit better but I'm taking a bit of extra time to decide if I want to make any further alterations to the chin/jaw. Worst-case scenario, I still have Version 6 sitting on my hard drive so I can go back and give it another try. Probably going to continue tinkering with it tomorrow as today was a surprisingly busy one.

@Triplight Maybe it's just me but the mouth for your character looks just a little too wide or maybe it's the size of her eyes that is throwing me off a bit (a bit large but it could be a stylistic choice on your part).  And you're right, the neck is pretty skinny (for female characters in general, something I never really noticed before until a few posters in this thread pointed it out to me).  Considering the limitations of the Character Creator though, that's still a decent result.

I think I'm done with my city elf's face, but for the life of me I can't settle on a hairstyle.  I made some mockups in photoshop to try and come up with something, and I'm liking this merge of Morrigan's bangs with the short hairstyle:

Posted Image

I think I need to learn how to make this happen.   For anyone who knows how, does this seem like an insane goal?  I know it's not something to learn and do in an evening, but I'm willing to put some good time into it, especially if it'll teach me to change other things as well.  Anyway, this is starting to sound like a subject for another thread, so...

Someone made hair which is almost like that, actually

http://www.dragonage...file.php?id=506

the drawback is, by default it overrides the stock pigtails hairstyle, but it can be easily rectified by renaming the file (and changing the file name field with the Toolset editor might be needed, but that's quick thing to do)

That mod is actually my inspiration for even trying this.  I don't like the ponytail on it, but if I can't figure out how to do what I want to do, I might just go with it.

I really like your tucked hair mod too, btw.

I'd say she needs more jaw/chin, more neck and smaller eyes, but that's just me :) Pretty cute on the "comparision"-pic tho!

I made my first morph since the wipe!
Guess who O:

I have never liked the look of the original Loghain. Sure, he's corrupted by hatred for the orlesians and such, but people still trust him. I would NOT trust original Loghain! He looks like a psycho

This is my version, I have read the DAO books so my view of him is completely based on that.
I wanted him to appear trustworthy. In the beginning he just looks like the general he is. Heavy weight on his shoulders, in a war with the darkspawn and blah blah. Later, when he starts making these angry, angry faces, he will look really angry I hope :D He still needs a bit more testing, but I don't have any savefiles that can help me with that. So I just have to play through my first file and work on him as I go through the story :) I am really proud of how he turned out tho!

What do you guys think? I know he isn't something most of you would use as a Loghain, but eeh. Yeah

I think you did again very good. Your Versions reflecting still his personality - and this is what counts. At least for me. I choose in my game the Lore versions for the other companions, or close to the old ones,  I couldn't play with the stunning Victoria Johnson as Morrigan ( I adore this work, though )
Only my Zevran is far away from the old one. I always was thinking the original isn't as half as handsome as he should be - young, boyish, cheeky, a seducer and dangerously. So I installed the wonderful Zevran Darkkami.

Anyway - I can only say this again. Such things are a matter of personal taste - ALWAYS. And what all the creators here doing is art - which deserves respect, always.

I hope it makes sense what I wrote :P:kissing:

OMG... @VirusCat :blink: Oh my god - he is... I'm at a loss for words. You hit exactly the Loghain I had always in my head ( not knowing books or anything) - but Ser Cauthrien wouldn't trust a  man like the Original Loghain.
If it is possible give him a bit smaller lips, should make his face a  tad more curel.

@ VirusCat - Redesigning companion characters is very hit and miss on this forum. Everyone has a different idea of how they should look. And I think your Loghain is a very well designed face, just 'for me' not a Loghain face.

He looks too cuddly, like a teddy bear. I am remaking Loghain at the moment as well, but i'm going for a much more brittle appearence with strong and prominent bone structure. I probably won't post him here though, I'm done with that. But yeah, it's your own take on the character and the design is good. Just not for me.

As I said before - all a matter of the own visions you have in your head. Can't wait to see your Loghain, though :wizard:
I can feel you dear :kissing: Was the same as I have seen your Morrigan.

Hell, I would.  I absolutely love that design.  It still captures the essence of the character but looks a lot cleaner/down to earth (original Loghain's hair always bothered me).  The eye texture is a little odd, but other than that it looks fantastic to me.

Hmm, actually I didn't change his mouth at all *remembers* Will go back and check what I can find with his mouth options :D I will check over his bone structure too. Like the jaw and cheekbones. This was mostly a first version to see if he fits the voice (he does! actually my bf immediately said "damn, is that the original voice? It sounds like it was made for your character" ) and the overall setting. This was just a quick job (and I didn't even put on my glasses actually).  I will keep on tuning him over the coming months xD

And yes that's what I mean mochen, your Morrigan is stunningly well done, very very you, and she fits in your party like a hand in a glove. Sadly, she doesn't fit into MY game and that's what people have been saying. Don't stop posting your chars! I love to see your work and I'm not alone in that.

Edit: Thanks for all the love btw!

Anfd the eyes is Petehog's Icy blue ones. In the book they describe Loghain as stone faced with icy eyes that could freeze you ro death ;D I was going for that look. And I like Petehog's eye texture since it's much more clear than other mods, which look a bit too cartoony for my taste ^^

Actually I like Petehog's Loghain a lot. Using it now. It makes Loghain less cartoonish without losing his Loghain-ness.

^Pic of his Loghain from his Redesign mod.
Man, this scene makes him so intimidating!  I wish I had to stand up against that face, the first time I faced off against him.

@ VirusCat and LadyAly - When Logain is done I'll put him in my album. But I don't want anymore feedback on my companion designs because I think it's a different thing to just posting a normal character.
I have a vision of how they should look, and everyone's vision is different. So yeah, everyone will just say 'Oh thats not how I imagine Loghain'   ....so what's the point?
I think feedback on a personal design is much more useful though.

@VirusCat Nicely done. You have quite the imagination of creating an original personality of the great general Loghain. But pls with all my respect an elven character will be much nicer. It won't hurt me if only I knew how to make one.

@Mlai00 Aesthetics Loghain.. Well I still prefer recommended version. Makes me really satisfied when decapitate him.

Petehog made the Aesthetics version after my comments I believe. But I got bashed by the other commenters since I wanted him changed alot. I used it for a long time afterwards but I still can't see him as the hero I read about in the DAO books, so therefore my own version finally!

I'm starting to make my PCs now. I think I will use the same formula as my lost chars. (Same race/class/age/personality form as the ones in the link below, minus one dwarf male and one elf female) but make them from scratch again. Maybe I'll also add something else, but that's my start at least.

@VirusCat The only nitpick that I have about your Loghain (and Petehog's for that matter) is that he looks a bit young. By my estimate, Anora is probably in her early-20's. While it's possible that Loghain became a father at a young age, I'd guess that he was probably in his early-to-mid 20's, which would place him in his 40's by the time of Origins (I haven't checked the toolset to see if there's an age listed for him). Both your design and Petehog's would work pretty well for a younger Loghain though and it'd be interesting to see them used in any prequel sequences or mods.

@Forlorn Very nice characters. The only minor quibble I have with Hazel Rain is that the hairstyle and the tattoo make it pretty difficult to get a good look at the facial features in two of the screenshots but that's probably a personal preference. Proportionally, I'd say maybe shrink Cholik's ears a little and perhaps move them up so that the bottom lines up with his nose a bit better (or maybe the other way around as I'm mainly going from the profile pic rather than your screenshot).

viruscat: I like that Loghain, nice job. the original bugs me too. go! go! remake PC's! :)

forlorn: may I suggest a subtler shade for Hazel Rain's tat, a lighter black or maybe blue? doesn't draw as much attention to where it connects to the mouth and such. a better shot of Paige would help.

mightmagix: a little late, but wth right? like the battlemage robe character. eyes look a touch weird to me, but that's entirely personal. nice job.

@ viruscat: Hmm interesting take on Loghain. Not my cup of tea personally. Your design is good, but he looks like a regular guy. I don't imaging loghain to be unshaven with short scruffy hair. He loves himself too much and to me he would pride himself on his appearence. I guess I'm a fan of the original loghain look. (hence my avatar!!)

@ mochen: Dude you should definitely share your loghain design with us when you finish it. I know your leliana got a bit of a hammering, but since then I think we've all realised that companion redesigns are absolutely about how the designer personally see's the character. I loved your leliana and i am using her in my game. She is very pretty and the long hair gave her a certain gracefulness. So yeah, keep posting designs!

Can't say I'm thrilled with the tattoo on Hazel. I just have a hard time with that particular design. Makes the lower area of the face look really odd. Can't see much of her face since the hair and tat draws aso much attention.
Paige on the other hand is awesome.
I would love a more zoomed in pic of her :)
Cholik is he general tough guy I guess :P He looks rock solid. Don't have much else to say about him, it's not really my type of char.
The dwarven lady looks a bit stretched. Everything is just so big and far apart. I think I would lower her eyes a bit to not get that feeling...

But I dunno. I have lost my spark. Don't listen to mee too much.

Tried making chars just now but I end up with either of these things:

1. I make a butt-ugly char
2. I make a similar design as those I am proud of, only worse
3. I make a copy of a character I already have. Nothing new. Totally broing.

I did make changes to Loghain again tho.
Changed him a bit this time. Jaw, Cheekbones, Mouth and complexion all got a nudge. He looks like he could be the right age now, at least I think so. I'm pretty happy with the design actually. Too bad I can't get the same creativityspark when it comes to PCs...

Posted Image
Glorious moment indeed... you evil man!

I did however play a bit with my wonderful Lynnore (which I won't remake. I don't think I can make her this pretty again), took her through the Joining (mostly 'cause I wanted screens from the meeting that takes place after) and updated her character portrait in my signature. I also gave Terenas a little remake. I dunno why but I like this new one, even tho his hair is really white ;D If you don't feel like clicking the link, he can also be seen in the signature, altho in a pretty small size.

For the rest of them... well. I think I will make another Aarya/Aaryanna-sibling :P I just love that style I managed to come up with for my fem-elves. Tho I will only play the new one OR Aaryanna depending on how the new one turn out, will be way too repetitive otherwise.
Alleria will stay the same so that I have something else than Aaryaclones ;D The dwarven males will be merged into one. Kael will probably be remade tho I'm not really sure on that yet. Varian will stay, I really think I managed the young Cousland look on him. Nanica is of course staying this way, she's just too cute to be changed :3

@meathook
Oh, ordinary? :S Okay.
Well, first he's busy trying to babysit Cailan, and afterwards he's way to busy being angry and evil to SHAVE ;P Also - stubble is waaaaay sexier ;P The short hair is just more convenient for a warrior of rank, so he don't get.. tangled up somewhere ;D

@TripLight
Thank you :) And yes, it does fit, since everyone isn't "doll"ishly "perfect" :P

@ meathook - thanks for the kind words on Leliana, but I think you just proved my point with your comment on VirusCat's Loghain. Everyone see's him in a slightly different way. So yeah I have finished my design, and he's exactly how I want him. He's on my profile album and signature if you're interested, but I don't think I will put him here.
