Some suggested, that this eye bug was caused by importing an ME1 Savegame/career/character...
That is not true.

Starting a New Game. No import. Building a NEW face. Based upon the default ME2 female.
The error occurs with "Eye Shape" bar to the far right, also 1 step back to the left. And gets less or worse with "Eye Depth" and "Brow Depth".
At some point -by some random error- the lashes even disappeared completely. Which handily took all cover from the bug in fact.

Screenshot while building (still a raw, disbalanced face):

I started all over. Renamed the Save folder again, and created a new empty one.
I tried to recreate that bug where the lashes disappeared, using the sliders, but that didn't happen again.

Based on the exact same Code i recreated the still 'raw, disbalanced face' and it now looked bug free, because of the thick lashes covering the cracks:

Fixed!
I renamed the old Save folder, created a new one (empty), and started a New Game.
This time the face i newly construct -this time with a different eye shape than i used to take-, has lids and lashes.
Despite the new empty save folder, the game knows i have played it already, as in the last stage of character building, the game still refers to previous playthrough: "Your achievements give you access to the following bonus powers; select one".
I start the game and in Lazarus when Shepard is seen on the bed, she has her eyes truely closed.

SELECT  1080p AND WATCH FULL SCREEN! Source is 1920x1200. Only 13 seconds.

Turns out that the eye bug is already in the morph tool where you customize Shepard's face. This also means that it can be avoided. The Eye Shape at the far right is the one i always used because it looked the most natural to me. Well it turns out that just this one does not fit correctly into the face, as any setting combination of the Eye Depth, Brow Depth and Brow Height ruler causes interference, overlapping, penetration and a bugged pair of eyes in the game. Just choose an other eye shape and enjoy a Shepard with bug-free eyes in the game.
Although this is from a New Game / no ME1 import / Save folder emptied and ME1 directory renamed / face entirely newly built in ME2, i am still not sure if this eye shape is a remnant of a previously imported ME1 Save still remaining somewhere deep in the game's data, thus not exactly fitting.
But i will be 100% sure when i un/reinstall the game, which i will do after a format/reinstall of Windows that i planned to do one of these days anyway.

I have just format/reinstalled Windows 7. Installed the game. Only Mass Effect 2 installed (and the DLC). Creating a New Face and yes, confirmed: the bug is in the game by default! Posted Image

Bioware: FIX please. The eye shape at the right side of the ruler is unuseable. Posted Image

SOME CLOSEUPS FROM WITHIN THE TOOL:

The eye shape second from the right seems better but isn't correct either:

under the pupils, between the hairs in the lower lashes you see the white cracks.
Move Eye Depth to the far left to eliminate it...

Come on Bioware: the game is so beautiful! style and aesthetics being one of its key points, you take pride in, you can't leave the tool in this state!

Wow your Shepard has big nostrils. But yea, I noticed her eyes "bleeding" sometimes. I thought it was my television.

So the Eye Shape second from the right, with Eye Depth ruler to the far left turns out 100% OK ingame. That's what i went using and i was happy with it.
All good and that, but i also DO want my ME1 career imported.

So this what happens then:
  • I started a new game, this time with "import ME1 save".
This is the result, the imported Shepard:

    Posted Image

It just so happens that it has the eyes from the "Eye Shape" ruler to the far right, the broken ones.
  • So let's just avoid the imported Shepard face, only keep the career and rebuild the face with the better eye shape; following the code i already have.

Oddly, that causes the lashes to vanish from the tool alltogether. The eyes are good but where are the lashes?

    Posted Image

And cycling through the presets, suddenly none of them have lashes either.

    Posted Image

Even the default Shepard hasn't any.

  • I started all over again then. I have the code for my ideal Shepard so that's no problem, but it all is so timeconsuming....

It didn't change: with an imported save, all eyelashes just vanish from the tool. :fp:

  • I launched the game to see what happens and ingame Shepard still had no lashes.  :fp:

  • Then i EXITED the game, and REBOOTED the PC.
RESUME Game, and then the lashes reappeared!

Finally, i can enjoy my game with a corrected Shepard face with bugfree eyes, AND an imported ME1 career.  :)

Just restarting the game after importing character and reloading the save will be enough. That's annoying but not a deal breaker. What annoys me greatly is that there's some bad looking cliping with some eyes. I can't believe how they didn't notice that. They shoudl release a patch for that.

Pretty pissed about this. I'm about 5 hours into a character imported from ME1, and just realized that my character's eyes are totally ****ed.

Really need a patch for this. Clipping is way too 1998.

Just because you play a lot of fantasy games doesnt mean you should practice necromancy on old threads.
EA provides official support, contact them and demand it be patched. Nothing we can do for you here apart from telling you to make another face. Before you say "its an import", make a new character with fixed eyelids and use Gibbeds save game editor to recreate your choices.
