was catching up on some news on io9.com when I saw a banner ad for Dragon Age. At first I thought it was just a rehash of the Sacred Ashes trailer but there was some new footage in there that showed Sten slamming his fists down on what looked like two clerics with the narrator talking about one's inner demons and Morrigan seemingly playing dead as two Darkspawn approach her and then she unleashes a magic spell. Haven't seen it anywhere else. I'd provide a link but it's a rotating banner ad at www.io9.com

Anyone else seen this? Is there a longer version of this somewhere?

Also the tag line, which I've heard elsewhere, is "Not Every Hero's Pure." Interesting tagline, what do you think?

.... about what? Whether this banner ad exists? I just saw it. It was short and less than 30 seconds long and carried the tag line I mentioned above. They also showed Leliana but it was the same scene from the Sacred Ashes trailer and they also showed the Grey Warden from the trailer in his ending pose when he's about to put the sword through the dragon's head. I've been a member of the Bioware community for over 3 years you know.... not trolling.

said I can't provide a direct link because it's a rotating banner ad believe what you like. Maybe a dev can confirm for you if that's necessary.

Thanks Shattered Shield.

Where do you expect to find a link for an add? You'll probably just come across it at random. I believe I saw it on gamespot

Just saw it again. I refreshed the page at io9.com and there it was. Now that others have confirmed...

what did you guys think? I thought those extra parts and voiceover were great. Not crazy about the tagline but I think it fits. Blur does some great work.

Maybe this is a potential television ad for Dragon Age? It definitely fits it time wise. Conveys the game pretty well from a conceptual point of view.

I have gotten successfully three times on www.io9.com

I did have to refresh the page about 20 times though. But it's always in the same place in the middle of the page.

For those of you who cant find it, Just scroll down a little and it should be there. You may need to refresh the page a couple of times.

Anyway I definitely think that is a t.v. commercial. Like I said it was pretty cool.

Finally Caught It. I Can't Remember The Last Time I Complained About LACK Of Ads ^_^

Would Make A Pretty Decent Ad If Televised, But Now I'm Even More Anxious For The Release

I was unable to find the video or advertisement, but the phrase "Not every hero's pure" is a fairly clear reference to the shades of grey and moral ambiguity that exist in everyone, even heroes. No person is perfectly good, and neither is any person perfectly evil.

Dragon Age: Origins seems to focus on forcing players to make choices with no clear "right" solution, unlike some games where it boils down to:

  • Save everyone and make the world a paradise
  • Slay everyone and make the world a wasteland

I prefer making difficult choices rather than simple ones, so I am pleased about this direction.
