Unreal 3 is a game engine. Graphic engines do not exist.Bogsnot1 wrote...
I got the point of the post, but it appears you didnt get the point of mine. Hair looking like a plastic mess is quite often the result of graphics engine limitations.
DA2 hair improvement was because its engine was more advanced than DA:O's, and thus could render hair better.
ME3's engine is still going to be a tweaked Unreal3 engine, the same engine used for ME1, so while hair will be improved, it remains to be seen if Ashleys locks actually flow (unlikely) or whether they will just look like another tragic wig.
Bioware said there isnt long hair for females because of military standards...but male Shepards can have goatees....

Chances are times changed. I can't say much more than this. They probably have a different code for military grooming 100+ years from now than they do today.

I'm just gonna make one post and make it thorough yet simple...
ANTI-LONG HAIR ARGUMENT: Being ex-Navy, I know regulations want girls to keep their hair not touching their shoulders. Bangs get in the face, obstructing sight. Too much hair insulates heat under hats and helmets (Especially when tied up). Blah blah blah.
PRO-LONG HAIR ARGUMENT: It looks good. Ashley has long hair in ME3, Miranda has long hair in ME2 & ME3. Regulations can and DO change, all the time. Blah blah blah.
MY ARGUMENT: It's a game set in the future where you interact with aliens so don't give the "It's unrealistic" comments... Stick the long hair in the game! The whole point of custom characters is what the player likes/thinks is appropriate. And well, there's plenty of mods and such for most games (Surprised I can't find a Mass Effect 2 Nexus or whatever) so I'm sure awesome hair mods exist for the Mass Effect games. For those who DON'T like downloading mods or long hair or playing females JUST DON"T DO IT AND DON'T CHEW THOSE OUT WHO DO.
See? Simple.
