Happened on my first playthrough twise in a row, and now happened again as I'm playing the Fade on my second playthrough - the game crashes to desktop in the middle of the battle against the sloth in the Sloth demon's sanctum.
Last time I finally got through the whole battle on my third try, and I'm hoping not to have to play through the fight too many times to get through now.
The crash always happens when the sloth demon is transitioning from one form to another.
I have the latest patch (1.03), and usually the game is pretty stable. Running the game on Windows XP. Dual core AMD processor (4600+), Radeon X1600/X1650 series video card, Catalyst Omega 7.12 drivers.
It's a bit annoying having to play through the same battle several times.

Got through it the second time, this time. Fortunately.
Didn't use any of the fade shapeshifting abilities myself in the fight that time, don't know if that made a difference.

Yeah, seems like not using shapeshifting powers works. It's the first time I've had this happen to me, first time I played as a dwarf. So it might be that, but who knows?

This is seriously annoying!
I kill 3 to 4 incarnations of this Sloth boss and it crashes to desktop...5 times now!

I usually get a crash myself in that area after updating to the latest patch. But usually just reloading the game works for me.

any updates to this? I am having the same problem. I am ready to give up on this game. I tried not shapeshifting....and it is still crashing. HELP!

I have the same problem. Same spot all the time, when Sloth changes form after I have killed him 3 times already. This is not fixed yet?!
