I searched and couldn't find a thread about it.
The ugly helmets in DA:O (think conehead mage helmets) has always nagged me and kept my chars and companions from reaching their fullest strictly out of a sense of fashion (and the stupidest mod reply I've ever read made me rage even more).
So I found this mod that allows you to hide the helmet, and I thought I would share it with those that didn't know of it.

I agree, those helmets(along with oversized daggers and anime-like bigswords) are really ridiculous looking, though I am no expert in this medieval armory so perhaps it's authentic.
Well, that's why I use the badass helmet from Grey Warden Runic armor:)

Is there a mod that allows one to equip a boot to the head?

This mod is very good, because you can toggle the visibility for everyone in your party ingame.
So its not a complete removal of helmet models like one might think.
@Nukenin
No.You can make a request, I am sure there are others who share your boot fetish. Hmm.. maybe it would be worth getting for Zevran...

Sorry to pick at your post but the daggers are far from over sized, I can find you several daggers from our history that are as large as 17" long, and the swords are fairly accurate in size as well, assuming the avg male human is 6' in game, use that as a base for the blade, they are hardly over sized.
Most of the helmets I am happy with myself, the mages caps could have a bit more varriaty but meh. The mod could be useful to many.

Those daggers are looking like short swords to me, longswords are more like bastard swords and the greatswords are...uh.. not even sure what description would fit 'em.
My only problem is that those "several 17" long daggers" are pretty much the only ones you will get in the game.

True, they all share about the same size in game, my guess is about 15" at minimum, short swords start at 18", longswords have a range of blade sizes as well, the avg I see is about a 36" blade (3'). Greatswords are a 60" to 70" weapon, I dont think the sizes in game are all that off to be honest.
Maybe seeing a few, shorter daggers would be interesting but they arnt over sized.
