I'm looking at making a new Blood Mage for Awakenings, as it's a type of character I haven't tried before. I've done an arcane warrior, as well as used Storm of the Century. With Awakenings I'd like to focus on the Spirit/Entropy schools, but I'm a little confused as to how the new specializations work.

On paper, it seems like both Battle Mage and Keeper would have great synergy with Blood Mage. Has anyone played this combo and have some feedback for how it works? I was thinking that it would allow for a ton of casting utility with all the health flowing back into the caster from the drains/regen.

I've not tried that player combo, but once you are strong enough, blood mage is the best skill in the game for me. Starting awakening you'll be strong, and you'll have a lot of fun. The third skill, blood wound I believe is an awesome one. In order to use blood magic you have to go to the advanced option (with the sustained spells) and select it before you can use the spells. Death cloud and blood wound work really well together, both are spirit damage, and I'm pretty sure there is no one with a resistance to it. The only thing though, is that opponents without blood are immune to blood magic.

Yeah, I've looked at and read a fair amount about Blood Magic specifically, what I was hoping to find was someone with some pointers on how the new specs, Keeper and Battle Mage, work with Blood Magic (specifically their drain/regen).
