Hello everyone!

I have seen several threads in the past that spoke about the detailed changes that you can do while using Gibbed's Save Editor that will allow you to modify the color/look of your character's eyes.  However, I was wondering if any of you had a detailed explanation of the codes that needed to be changed in the file and an example as to what the final results would look like.

If you have some SS of your character with the eye changes, can you post them here as well please?

Thanks!

Agreed, would be useful to create a wider database of codes for use via the editors community.

You can just use the RGB values to create whatever colors you want.

Red eyes: R=0.5 G=0.0 B=0.0
If you want them to glow: R=10.0
Just do the same for Blue or Green. The lower the number you use the darker the color. So B=0.3 will be a darker shade of blue than B=0.9

Any other colors that you want to use will be a combination of the RGB values. If you want yellow eyes then: R=0.5 G=0.5 B=0.0

You can use this as a kind of guide --> RGB to Color Table

There are two fields that  you can edit which are self-explanatory.
Field: EYE_Iris_Colour_Vector
Field: EYE_White_Colour_Vector

Sadly, doesn't work. All I get is glowing eyes with the tint of purple. What is/are number(s) you use for "A"...I used the RGB ones listed, and tried #'s for "A" from 0-99, and still get spooky glowing eyes.....

You don't need to change the value of "A"=1. Use the RGB color table to get an idea of the ratio you need to produce a particular color. Convert them to decimal values. For example if you want Blue Violet the RGB numbers to use would be something like:

R=138 --> R=0.138
G=43 --> G=0.043
B=226 --> B=0.226

You can experiment with incremental changes to those values to fine tune the results to suit your need.

Will try UR suggestions this week-end, thx. Downloaded guide months ago, hair codes work, most eye codes do not work on PC. They all work as listed on XBox, I'm told (one blue, gray and white code works, along with the yellow code, on PC, all rest don't work, even with conversions). I messed around for 8 hours and found hair color variations (all colors except " dark red"), but could never get red, purple or "Illusive man" eye colors........

Did someone say purple?

EYE_Iris_Colour_Vector = 0.5, 0.001, 0.5, 1

HED_Hair_Colour_Vector = 0.1, 0, 0.1, 1

HED_Addn_Colour_Vector = 0.1, 0, 0.1, 1

HED_Lips_Tint_Vector = 0.1, 0, 0.1, 1

HED_EyeShadow_Tint_Vector = 0.1, 0, 0.1, 1

HED_Brow_Tint_Vector = 0.1, 0, 0.1, 1

RGB values usable by the game can be found by dividing the value by 255. Find the RGB value you want to use, let's say you chose a nice blue colour such as this, which is R=144, G=162, B=255

Red = 144/255 = 0.56
Green = 162/255 = 0.64
Blue = 255/255 = 1.00

So the value would be: 0.56, 0.64, 1, 1

You all are awesome, thx for response. I asked for purple eye code and got so much more! Codes work, so does formula......thx again. Each time I replay, got to use different hair/eye colors, it's an addiction thing I guess??!! Thinking of dark red hair to go with golden eyes for next play (#11). Anyone got a dark red hair code??

Well, you could use something like 0.1, 0, 0, 1 for dark red, if you want it darker, just make the first number smaller.

How do you get that skin color? Every color I try on that mapping page that was linked, works for eyes, but is completely wonky for skin tones.

That's just the lightest skin colour available in the character generation screen.

The code for it is: 0.9743003, 0.6054844, 0.436812758, 1

Skintones seem to be slightly different than the other values, though. If it worked the same, that would end up veeeery red.

D'oh. I've never used the lighter skin tones. Guess I should've gone back and tried to answer my own question. lol.

Kikaimegami has the accurate take on what the color values mean. The values used in Gibbed are on an RGB 0-1 scale. Full saturation of a color is 1, zero is 0. Her means of converting the 0-255 scale into a 0-1 scale is accurate.

Values higher than 1 do NOT cause your eyes to glow. However, it can create the appearance of glow. There are fewer very dark spots in ME3 than in ME2, so it works better in ME3. What actually happens is that your blue eyes with a value of 10, when hit by blue light, reflect ten times more blue than they're lit with. This means that even in very low light they're very bright.

ME3 also has fewer places that are lit with only a single color. This means that in locations with only red light, purple eyes don't turn red, and in blue light they don't turn blue. At least not as often. There are almost always secondary sources of ambient white light to let your eyes color properly.

As for skin tone, I'm hazarding the guess that it's a modification to a pre-existing skin texture, rather than a straight color.

Beautiful. That guide is exactly what I've been looking for and the conversion ratio also helps a lot.

I know this thread started off about eye color, but it seems to have evolved into a general color code discussion. Anyway, you lovely code bunch wouldn't happen to know the code for medium brown hair color, would you? Or at least a rough estimate of what the color's RGB values would be?
