I don't know why but everytime I try to connect to the Cerberus Network I get the same error message. Something about a timeout with the mass effect 2 servers... Does anyone know if there is a known issue about this or are there common problems like that? Because it's the first time I got this error message, yesterday in fact.

I also have a problem with the Cerberus Network. Both of My EA accounts show that i didn't redeem my code when i bought the game and i purchased a new one and don't have any idea of what the code is.

If you are having errors connecting to Cerberus Network and the EA servers because they are "timing out" please follow the guide below.
This issue is caused by false lines written in the hosts file.
In order to fix this, you need to delete some lines in the hosts file. Heres a step by step guide.
1. Go to Start Menu and open up Computer, once there, open up your hard drive. which currently has windows installed on it. (For most people, that will be C:)
2. If Windows was installed on the hard drive you selected, you will see a folder named Windows, open that up.
3. Now look for the System32 folder, open that up. Now look for the drivers folder and open that. Then at last, the etc folder. The directory should now be something like C:Windows/System32/drivers/etc
4. Inside you will see the hosts file. Open up Notepad which is located in accesories (right click and select Run as Administator if on Vista or Win7)
5. Go to File on Notebook and select Open, now go to the same place shown at No.3. Make sure you have Notepad set to look for all files, you can change this by clicking on the arrow next to Text Documents (*.txt) in the bottom right corner and making that All.
6. Once in that Directory, now you can open up the hosts file with Notepad, once you have done this you now need to delete every line in that file which has the word EA in it and also starts with 127.
7. Save the file and then quit notepad and everything else that I have told you to open in this guide.
You should now be able to use Cerberus.
Happy gaming!

I tried your instructions and I'm still getting the timeout error, any other suggestions?

Okay, try using these commands in command prompt(run as admin!)
netsh int tcp set global ecncapability=disabled ( use this one on its own first and try the game with only this one done, if that doesnt work, use them all. If then that works you should reset them all back to default simply by changing say =disable to =default)
netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled
netsh interface tcp set global rss=disabled
netsh interface tcp set global congestionprovider=none
netsh interface tcp set global ecncapability=disabled

Actually, all that is needed is this:
netsh interface tcp set global ecncapability=disabled
From an admin level command line. Make a .cmd batch file set to run in admin mode as a switch.
You'll find many EA things have this trouble. Including their web site.
I would not turn off the rest as you could muck up your internet connection and lose performance. Always make sure you understand what you're changing when you make a tweak. Research.

As an addition, I suggest the following batch file. Make it in Notepad and save it as ECN.cmd or some such, and change it in compatibility settings from the file properties to run in admin mode.
@echo off
set /p choice="Allow ECN? [y/n] >"
if '%choice%'=='y' (netsh int tcp set global ecncapability=enabled) else netsh int tcp set global ecncapability=disabled
netsh int tcp show global
pause
You now have a switch to cover EA's bug.

Im afraid you are incorrect about the others being useless, quite a few people I have helped had to use those as well and then it worked.

Perhaps you are right, there are situations in which each of the adjustments would help. They are different situations though, and will be down to ISP/OS/HW issues. The issue I highlighted is an issue with EA in general and will happen for everyone. It is almost certainly the cause, and even if it isn't the only cause it is certainly one block that prevents further diagnosis.
Applying all those solutions as an unquestioned cure-all is not a good idea though. If the certain ECN tweak doesn't solve the problem then further investigation is needed (with full understanding of the settings and what they will do). Turning all of those things off could have a significantly detrimental effect on the quality of one's network connection and internet experience. It very much depends on the connection and situation.
Keep the tweak I highlighted though (or use a batch switch as I provided) because whatever other problems you may have, having ECN enabled will kill Cerberus and almost anything else that tries to connect to EA (including the web browser) on its own and for everyone on every setup I have seen. It never breaks anything else for me though, just EA.
