The space between DAO and DAA was four months (Nov-MArch)

If we use that same time frame, then it would be out around the end of May or beginning of June. (Though there is no evidence to support this)

Well, there's a bit of a difference here. I remember one of the devs saying that Awakening was in development for about a year. That was no doubt because DA was actually mostly finished around that same time. (Remember, originally the PC version was going to be released at the start of the year, but got delayed to be released alongside the console versions) Now, unless I'm mistaken ME2 was not mostly finished 6 or 7 months before its actual release. To be given the same amount of time for a ME2 expansion, we won't be seeing it until the end of this year, or the start of the next.

Well we know that something "far reaching" to the Mass Effect universe is coming some time early next year. Maybe thats the expansion pack?

That could very well be the case.

That would be the greatest DLC ever.  You pay your money, load it up, just to spite Liara and walk away.  Thats got to be worth a few quid, I'll you that!

It was my understanding that once the devs finished the main work on ME2 most of them shifted to the DLCs and Expansion. That was probably three to four months before ME2 release. That is easy enough if all the coding is done and it just needs to be debugged and such. I have a Programing degree so I know it is feasible to have much of the production crew shift their priority and just have a few devs putting the final touches on ME2. I'm hoping for fall this year considering they will have had a year to put it together and considering how fats the other DLCs came out... most of the work is probably already done.

I downloaded Kasumi and then when she liked asked for my help I was like 'No! Just sit on the Normandy you!' and I never helped her and it was so worth it.

It was awesome!

Did you use her in combat?

She's actually not that bad. For most of my last playthrough, I just used my DLC characters.Zaeed + Kasumi + shep = ftw

I was joking.

I actually use Kasumi all the time plus Jack.  No reason, other than I really like them.   When I get Samara and Thane, I mix them in sometimes too.   Everyone else chills on the Normandy until I have to use them *grumbles*damn loyalty missions*grumbles*

Well, I wouldn't mind waiting a bit longer for this as long as they don't F it up again. I do agree that it would be lame to take down the SB is a one or two hour DLC, but if they do this in a expansion like the Awakening, than it could make perfect sense. I mean we all know the reaper is coming, sooner or later and we will have a epic battle in ME3. So would it not make sense to help your old GF (or just a former squad mate) to takeover SB's network to use it in the coming battles?

I'm really hoping that they just don't let you take down the SB with Liara in a couple hour DLC. It should be saved for something huge like ME3--a midpoint in the story, where you find some kind of important information. I like the idea of Liara getting lost in the world of the SB's intrigue. She's slowly walking down the same path her mother took. Soon enough she'll be evil and crazy. Which is awesome.

I just hope they don't minimize how important the SB is.

Remember that mission in ME1 when the Shadowbroker agent contacts you and asks you for data. If you refuse, the agent notes that you might need his help somewhere down the line, and that you're not going to get it when you do.

Thoughts?

i remember the mission you are talking about but i don't see any connections for now....and neither a reason for the deal between the shadow broker nad the collectors for shepard's body...

Most games have a period where the majority of the development is done, and it just comes down to QA and tweaks.  That's why a lot of games now come with day 1 DLC, because the developer has a period where they can't "make" the game anymore, so they make additional content for it instead.

There are two big DLCs which I want to see.

1) Liara takes down the Shadowbroker.
2) Miranda takes down Cerberus.

Heck, I would be fine to play those without Shepard even!  (Not that they would do that of course.)

I don't think Liara will be getting out of her seat until ME 3. We'll be doing her dirty work for now

What I would want out of a Cerberus DLC would be two things...if you saved the Collectorr ship...you find out TIM is using it for evil purposes and you have take him down. Cerberus is alreay using Collector armor and weaponry against other races across the galaxy

if you blew the base up, TIM set up a bounty on your head  and a bunch of bounty hunters and Cerberus are after you

these are two big big mission due the subjects involved...you can't take down two of the biggest oraganizations of the galaxy with a simply DLC...exept if it is a very very big one...
